With Adam out on tour with Queen, the main chat threads are relatively quiet but we still need a place where we can discuss all things Adam that are not Q+AL concert-related. However, I did choose a Q+AL+Band photo for this month’s thread since there are many great Adam photos and mlg posters in the concert threads for everyone to drool over. And after all, it is the summer of Queen + Adam Lambert!!

    You’re quite welcome, twilight, it certainly was my pleasure. I don’t know Vancouver well, so it was a great discovery journey for me as well – with a great discovery partner! I didn’t watch the Holland game at ‘De Dutch Pannekoek House’, but will never forgot the time we spent there watching the fireworks!

    Jojosie, I won’t make it to Iowa this year, but I just may take part in the race next year! And take you and your husband to Pella, ’cause that was a delightful little town. Definitely worth a visit.

    Spent a lovely afternoon with Riskylady and Mr riskylady in Vancouver, and they are on the train right now to Ontario, enjoying the beautiful scenery of British Columbia. The weather certainly is cooperating. Have a great trip!

    Seeing the travel comments reminded me of another awesome thing. I tell my son that he (and I) have Adam to thank for our first trip to Paris and now our first trip to Vegas, baby!! Razz Airplane Seems so many of us have had our world horizons expanded due to Adam!

    So good to see you posting. I have thought about you so often. I thought of going to Vegas for the concerts but decided instead to go to Dallas. We are leaving in the morning. Darn it would have been so nice to see you agin. Maybe next tour. Where are you living now?

    Hi! I’m in Oregon with my goats and gardens, literally, haha! It’s so enjoyable to dive back into fandom, so I will post more regularly. I’m sure we will meet up again somewhere along the way. Have a fantastic time in Dallas seeing Adam, Queen, and other fans!

    Another observation that has probably already been discussed. Adam’s physicality. His moves, shakes, twitches, eye contact, poses. Precision moves, exactly on the beat and perfect embodiment of each song. Then he breaks character and laughs or does something sweet, sexy, or silly. Such close attention paid to expressing the music in body and sound. So fun to watch him on the stage! Even from my being close up in the small LV venue, I kept watching the big screen shots of him. How were the big stadium experiences?

    Unlike with GlamNation, I left both shows in awe but satisfied and satiated. I think that’s the magic in Adam performing with such experienced and talented musicians as Brian, Roger, and company. The complexity of Queen’s songs took a lot out of me but put so much back as well. I realize that Adam’s songs left me wanting more, in a good way, but almost like something was missing, very different than Queen’s songs

    goatie, completely agree with this. Adam’s own music is fun and enjoyable, but his performance and vocal skills truly set him apart from everyone else with this incredible Queen setlist. I have so much respect for the insanely talented members of Queen. The only problem is, the more I am reminded of their enormous catalog of music, the more songs I’m dying to hear Adam sing! In Love

    I checked Ticketmonster for the rest of the shows – MSG is not bad, Atlantic City so-so but the IZOD in NJ is not even half sold!!!! Yikes! I would have thought the northeast would be a great market.

    Thanks to everyone for the congrats on the new grand baby. We are over the moon!

    I won’t be at the Houston show tonight, but plan on going to the show tomorrow in Dallas. I heard from Ceddies, she is planning on coming to Dallas.

    Yes mils, those are the pants from AFTEE with Nile.

    Jojosie, you are so sweet! It is dry in some parts of Texas, mainly in the west, but where I live in southeast Texas, it is very humid and yes, hot!

    Calgary,,the northeast is a great market but I remember discussing this when the tour dates came out. To me it was just one or two venues too many in this oversaturated area. Izod is just too close to Philly, New York, Atlantic City. But hopefully the news about how great the show is will spread and people will either see it for a second time or it may have last minute walk-ups.

    goatie, love hearing from you, and am glad you’ll b posting more often!! LOL, please finish your GN recaps. They were quite , erm, passionate, as I recall…

    Loved your interpretations and comparisons of GN to QAL. May I add that the GN shows were short, barely an hour, and left us gasping for more. The QAL shows are 2 full hours, and huge in spectacle. There is a big difference for me in this.

    Talked to rs tonight. She has arrived safely at her aunt’s house in Toronto. We are meeting up tomorrow for an art exhibit, then having dinner with Ron and Mr. Ron. It is their 37th anniversary.

    Haven’t been on the blog or read any threads since before our whirlwind trip from FL to Vegas & back and now trying to be ready for Friday trip to Toronto, NYC and Boston! Am at work and have a few minutes.

    I also enjoyed reading goatie‘s observations and thoughts comparing GN with Queenbert and I think I feel similarly. GN was never enough but with the Queen catalog there’s a lot of weight that feels more satisfying. Still can’t stop us from multiple shows though! lol!

    WOW! goatiegarden I just finished reading your entire post of “random thoughts” and am just in awe of how wonderfully expressed all these thoughts and feelings are; the observations are all things the duke and I have expressed as the concerts have expressed but your putting them so articulately in one big place is fantastic.

    Why did we not meet in Las Vegas? We must have been traveling in different circles but I thought I was aware of the ALLers there. I guess, another time, another place.
