‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero

Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.

For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!

    But I digress. Did you know that Neil Patrick Harris told Ryan Seacrest this morning that Adam would be his choice for Idol judge? Frown Frown Frown

    I’m on the phone now with TLKC and asked why the frown faces after what sounds like an endorsement from Neil Patrick Harris.

    She started laughing and explained she’s walking about downtown and typed the message on her iPhone.

    She thought she was typing smilie faces!

    She meant it to be Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

    Promising Adam moment to report.
    This morning I was visiting with 15-yr-old granddaughter who was perusing Twitter as we chatted. She likes Adam, btw, but also 1Direction (who replaced Bieber, who she still likes but only his cute looks Confused ). I mentioned that Adam has a new song coming out with this Swedish dj Avicii, and before I could ask, “Do you know who he is?” she gushed, “I LOOOVVE him, he’s gorgeous, he’s my new husband!!!” So, I looked up the song so she could hear it, and of course like all of us, she cannot wait to hear the clean version.
    She’s going trampolining with friends now, so I’m sure she will spread the word!
    I was surprised, didn’t know 15-yr-olds would be that aware, figured later teens, early twenties, so Adam can look forward to even more visibility with younger fans.
    She even knew that Avicii was here recently at Ultra Music Festival, but couldn’t go because it was very expensive. Who knew??

    Wonder when the China Idol finale is? And, if Adam is still scheduled. There is some China radio interview going on, maybe they will mention that.
    ‘Cause it would be fabulous if Adam were one of the surprise guests at the Nile Rodgers/Avicii event in August!

    risky, “tweens” and younger teens are even more aware of current music than their older sibs, in my experience. They see it as an important part of their transition into adolescence as well as a bonding experience with their friends.

    My youngest niece and nephew have been coming over for swim days. They are 2 and 3. I had on my Queen CD when they came over and the 3 year old yelled QUEEN when he walked in….my sister is like ….GREAT….Really don’t think he knew it was Queen but just association but it was funny. I turned the radio on and after a few minutes they were bored and started chanting dance dance dance. I put on Trespassing and Cuckoo was on and they LOVED that song. They were running around yelling “Cuckoo”..”he said Cuckoo”..then “play it again”….again…etc…We went swimming and came back up and my nephew wanted me to turn on my record player. He picked a Queen album first and played it for a couple of songs then said change it. He looked through my albums pointed and said Adam. Shocked he knew him. (turns out my sister works out everyday to his album) So, I had just been teaching him to swim and how to bounce off the bottom to get back up to the top. Kickin’ In came on and he went nuts on the bounce bounce bounce part….he was screaming JUST LIKE IN THE POOL….BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE…AGAIN….AGAIN…
    And another Adam fan is born….now, how to get him to start calling him Uncle Adam…HA!

    Thanks for the full Neil Patrick Harris interview ulti. I had only heard the Adam snippet. So cool that NPH just brought it up and sort of put Ryan on the spot. If Ryan is to be believed, no one is confirmed.

    I changed the frownie faces to smiley ones in the earlier post. Damned iPhone screen is too small.

    Thanks ulti for all the goodies – NPH, KP, ED. Love how ticketmaster in some places just lists names Queen, Adam Lambert, etc. Ooo – Ooo. What if, by September, Lay Me Down is a huge hit amd and Avicii and Nile are the special guests at iHeart and they perform it live for the first time! Awesomeness!!!

    OK guys – any eagle eyes or attenders-to-detail here at the moment? Riskylady? Someone on adamofficial.com has pointed out that Adam’s twitter avi is a photo of him standing in front of the American Idol logo. Has this pic been up for a long time or is it recent? I never look at it to be honest.

    How long has Adam’s twitter avi been a cleanshaven picture of him front of the American Idol logo? How long since Adam finaly got over the 2 million followers mark? I hate those sunglasses on Adam too – he has some that are much better. Makes me think these are prescription lenses or something? Also his sunglasses are usually pretty large, making one wonder if there is something about his eyes that are hyper-sensitive to the sun such that he needs more eye protection than the average person.

    Adam’s twitter avi has been the same since he was on Idol. He went over 2 million followers close to the Idol finale.

    Sorry for being the confusion ulti. I was referring to the fact that Adam’s “new” Avi meant that he had Idol wrapped up. Aely says the Avi has been up since May.
