‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero

Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.

For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!

    Wonder how much RCA knew of all this.

    Theory is that avivii/Rodgers/Adam colab was done after RCA’s year
    option had expired. RCA has no rights.

    Yup, guess I’ve outlived my usefulness! Thinking

    I’m anxious to hear “Lay Me Down” direct from the recording because everything I’ve heard has been so muddy and can barely hear Adam. I sure hope Avicii didn’t cover the vocals with too much stuff. I hate when producers do that, it should be illegal!
    So far not particularly liking what I’ve heard, but I’ve learned not to judge from crappy recordings, so will wait for the real thing.

    If Adam is the coach of Vocal Adrenaline, he will probably be in the early episodes of Glee this season. They show up for work on August 5th, so we will see. That would be a recurring role. Nice exposure and time to do other things. Like it.

    It is also a mentoring role/nice fit – unless he’s going to be a musical version of Sue Sylvester. Cue to the moustache -“Nya ha ha!”

    I can’t believe that someone went to the trouble of removing Adam’s moustache from a photo.

    Have to agree with JOJOSIE on the glasses. The glare on them make him look really geeky in several shots.

    Did RCA’s option expire or did they mutually agree to part, based on creative differences over the 3rd cd? I thought recent Idol contracts included 3 cd’s. (Suppose you could argue that the acoustics and the DVD count for something.)

    NBC just posted a story that J-Lo was “rejected” for a spot in The Voice finale. Like it mattered. That suggests that they believe the J-Lo rumours and are trying to throw shade on Idol’s upcoming announcement.

    J-Lo in makes J-Hud less likely. If will-i.am is in then J-Hud is probably not happening. Who could be the third judge……Keith or Adam? Or maybe 4 judges after all: a country singer and a former contestant. Grin

    That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

    Apparently Wake Me Up beat out 1D for #1 song.

    Over the weekend, Avicii’s bluegrass banger Wake Me Up managed to stop One Direction from scoring a No.1 single with Best Song Ever. (MTV-UK).

    Does this mean US, too?

    On GMA talking about Katy Perrys gold Semi promoting her album, they showed a tweet and saying one comment was tweeted from “American Idol STAR” Adam Lambert! Not bad.

    OMG, jlurksacto – Lauren Green attacked the writer of a new book about Jesus and Christianity in a FOX TV interview. The gist: she felt that a Muslim couldn’t write an objective book about Christianity.

    He has a PhD in religious studies and 20 years worth of respected articles on many religions.

    Towards the end of the interview he asked her if she had read the book. Clearly not, but she didn’t answer. She thought it was sufficient preparation to came armed with critiques of the book that focussed on his being Muslim.

    Just listened to Lay Me Down (well, such as it is on that cranky youtube). Can’t wait for the “real” version with good sound! and the radio edit will presumably tighten it up, four and a half minutes is long IMHO.
    Adam + Nile = fun collab.

    Wow. Just fell into a sh*tstorm when I researched the Aura mag after ulti’s post.

    Here is a quote from the Fault site:

    Lambert’s brother has publicly tweeted that he is not in favour of the Aura fan-zine, and takes Steve Gray’s side on the matter, which surely indicates that he is privy to a backstory that informs his opinion. He is no fool.
    I agree that the fan-zine is not about people, not about a witch-hunt. It’s about people making money out of Adam, in much the same way that the people behind the rogue album, Beg For Mercy, tried to make money out of him.

    No idea what side is right, or what the sides are, or anything else, and am NOT suggesting that we get into all that on this happy blog! Just pointing out my surprise that this is such a controversial publication, and if anyone wants more details or information there is plenty of both to be found online.

    Bad behaviour all around IMHO. The creators of the Downunder fan mag thought that the AURA ladies were stealing their concepts. The two publications turned out to be quite different. There can never be enough Adam mags IMHO. Both are testimony to the incredible joy and creativity that Adam engenders.

    Just because two cookbooks have Fish and a Poultry sections doesn’t mean that one is copying the other.

    Both celebrate and showcase fan contributions and fans were free to choose who they used.

    But I digress. Did you know that Neil Patrick Harris told Ryan Seacrest this morning that Adam would be his choice for Idol judge? Smile Smile Smile
