‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero

Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.

For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!

    Ha, he does steal the show doesnt he. Josh, Fergies husband first started on my Soap, All My Children, what, about 15 years ago, we hated it when he got killed on the show. He went on to make those Transformer movies, and a few others, I always loved him on the show. Anyhow Adam is really up there isnt he.
    About the song, Lay me down, its ok, Avicii is a big deal? I dont know him, hope this is good for Adam.
    About Glee, MJ stated she is going to have its own thread about Adam and Glee. That is really something, she knows the hits she will get. I cant wait. I still think he is going to be a professor or mentor to the kids, dont think he will be any kind of love interest. He may even not show that he is gay. That may be left up in the air. Maybe he will come on as someones brother. What do I know lol.

    I was at a dog agility show last week in Medford Oregon. First time gone since my Bells Palsy incident, yay. Anyhow the judge of the show is from my state, Florida, he is in the Miami area. Anyhow got to spend time talking all weekend about people back home, it was fun. I got to thinking as we walk the courses, that he puts on his playlist with songs playing to brighten the time while we are walking, the usual, Staying Alive, other annoying stuff.
    Well I got the bright idea of Adams song Running, is so related to dog agility cause we do run around the course, along with Trespassing. I told the judge that I had a couple songs that he would like for his play list, and I would send them to him, he was all excited, (of course I am sure he has no clue who Adam is) but any how, he will have the songs to play all over the country when he goes to judge. I think he is coming back to California to judge in December. Think of all the people that will hear those songs, and maybe try to find our who or what songs they are. There are hundreds of people at every agility trial.
    So—-here I am asking if anyone has an easy way for me to send him the songs, I have them downloaded on itunes, but from there I am stuck on how to send them, does someone have a certain way for me to do this? Thanks a lot Music Note Airplane

    Our BB does stand out and light up a roomful of stars with his smile and fashion sense. Style is so funny. Those “distressed” jeans were bought like that and must have cost a fortune. In another time they would have been on a trash heap and never be seen with a silk shirt and those gorgeous boots.

    About the Avici song. The first version was disappointing because the base line was so strong (I know he is a DJ and it was made for dancing) that it drowned out Adam’s voice it sounded unclear and kind of “dirty”, if I am explaining myself right. I liked the second you-tube better, the one from the club, because Adam’s vocals were clearer. We will have to wait and see how it sounds on the album. But I am very glad for the collaboration!

    P “fixed” two of my favorite photos from Del Mar and I tweeted them to Adam. His face isn’t beautiful in either one, but I love the pose. No response though, not that I expected one. To quote P, ,If Adam retweets your photo, it will be the highest honour in Glambertdom.

    I think you do have to have an iTunes account. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have iTunes so really not sure. You can also right click on the purchased song and drag it to your desktop then attach and send link by email.

    Hot off his latest tune Wake Me Up, Avicii’s next single will be titled Lay Me Down (presumably his counter-argument to being woken up), and it will be no-doubt be infused with some signature Nile Rodgers sound.

You look at the charts right now, there’s a mix of EDM, neo-folk-pop; there’s this whole other thing going on…I think there’s a wide open playing field right now, which is really refreshing.”

    I think Avicii’s song Wake Me Up starts kind of folksy, then turns very dancey. An interesting combination. I really like it.

    I just watched the video for Wake Me Up and I loved the song! Like you said luval, it was folksy (which are my roots) yet modern and makes you want to dance. The guy is a genius to be able to combine genres like that. Perfect for Adam and I can’t wait for the finished product.

    Just wanted to jump in here with a few thoughts now that I’m all caught up.
    Ron, watched all of your vids on YouTube. I had no idea you were so talented. Go you!!
    The second anni of Ste. Agathe and my first encounter with the ALL bunch thanks to my travel buddy Suz526 who persuaded me to go. What a glorious time it was. The new friends, the beatiful city, OOL debut, Adam all wet and sticky, NO8 photo shoot. Wouldn’t trade it for the world.
    Last summer this time we had returned from London and continued on to 3 more fabulous concerts culminating in Des Moines. Took me the rest of the summer to recover from all the excitement and pure joy of each adventure.
    As rs, turquoisewaters, and riskylady so eloquently wrote, every concert was unique and memorable in its own way. I couldn’t pick a favorite.
    Now adding Del Mar and Paso to the mix it’s just so wonderful to have had these opportunities and met so many kindred spirits.
    With Adam in the news so much lately we can honestly say he has “arrived” and is in good company in terms of collaborations and connections in the business.
    I couldn’t be happier or more grateful to him for his music and bringing us altogether.

    I think that “One For My Baby” is the greatest torch song ever that was written specifically for a male singer – in this case it was “ol’ blue eyes” who made it popular. It was first performed however by Fred Astaire in a movie musical.

    A number of female singers have recorded or performed it too: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney and perhaps most memorably by Bette Midler when she sang it to Johnny Carson on his last night of his hosting The Tonight Show. I remember that they both had tears in their eyes.

    It’s such an atmospheric and melancholy song. I tried to convey a sense of that … IDK
