‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero

Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.

For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!
If you have any photos faves, please post them and I’ll add them below the video.
Enjoy the chat!

Thanks luval, TLKC and turquoisewatersfor responding to my musings. I am not sure that I even knew what I was feeling or that I articulated myself correctly, but when I come here people “get” me.

And you are very welcome, turquoise, for the photos. I love taking pictures and doing so adds so much to my own enjoyment of an event.(I especially loved the photo at the pig races where I got you in the middle of that huge laugh) #great memories.

Welcome to ALL lisai! Glad to have another poster from New Zealand!

  3. AL says:

Two years ago Adam returned to Canada for a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience. Many posters from here were present for that weekend in Quebec. Airplane Car
This week’s special free-form crossword, “Encore En Feux!“, celebrates that time and event.

  4. retjenny says:

Rule of Glambert thumb: the last concert Adam gave is almost ALWAYS the best concert he ever gave (or you ever saw.) Proximity to the buzz-and-hum of a particular Adam exposure leaves you ecstatic for weeks.

As expressed by TLKC, RISKY, RS AND OTHERS!

I Agree 100%. So very many things contribute to our “Adam experience”. The first Adam show we saw was Fantasy Springs I. It was absolutely the BEST Adam show ever. Now looking back from Paso Robles, was it the worst show? Each time we see Adam is unique in it own way and should be savored as such.

  5. milwlovesadam says:

Yes, lisai, I am proudly from Milwaukee. Wow, you have a tat from his Milwaukee makeup. Remember that his first hair shaving was “news” and was all over media, for the Milwaukee show.

You can read my recap in the threads posted here of all our threads from that time on MJ’s. Back when she had a thread for every show. It was before our beloved mlg started making posters. I had excellent seats, and when he did what he did to merit becoming my avatar, it was like he was right beneath me. It took my breath away, and even a few years later, the memory of it is still there if I close my eyes, and get in the moment…..there…and there he is…

I’ve had two M&G’s, been front row, center once, and super close other times, even went to Hawaii with several fans from here for both shows, BUT, I’ve never had the kind of encounter and experience you had. You must relive that in your head a lot, and simply find yourself grinning and all happy inside.

    I know I would, muwhahahaha!!!!!!!

Would you please recap for us here? I have a feeling some of us might enjoy it. LOLOL

  8. riskylady says:

Oh my, rs, thank you for your comment, when I always think of you as wise and knowledgeable lol.
I don’t think I could pick an absolute favorite of the shows I’ve seen – I absolutely love each one for it’s special moments.

First: The “baseball” show in St. Petersburg – the emotion and “tracks of his tears” on Adam’s face when he realized that most of the 37,000 people STAYED for him (probably around 30k per the press next day) after the ball game ran late into extra innings. The absolutely wonderful time we had meeting cher and family. Watching Adam sign and greet people after the show from just 3 feet away.
Second: SOLD OUT Hard Rock Café in Hollywood, with rs, cher, and bessiedim. First time meeting rs and flailing together. Last bus show, and the bus drivers came on stage surprising Adam – hilarious! And what an audience (pre-show dancing included).
Third: Last GNT int’l show, London, on my birthday. Meet&Greet obtained by lovely floridagirl. With rs, agathe.hb from Poland, mr also from Israel, met adorable kinkykeidis for the first time (she initially helped us with tickets),
Adam literally having FITS about sound, Sleepwalker technical issues, finally YELLING “TURN IT THE FUCK UP” I believe just before Sure Fire Winners. The GREAT reviews in the London press. Meeting Suz526 after her grueling tour odyssey.
Fourth:: Ste. Agathe!!!!!! Rain! Wet tank top Adam! Fairy! Outlaws of Love! Sauli! and an unforgettable week of meeting so many of you and hilarity (losing cars, NOH8 pics, Gps adventures, spending hours looking for Chinatown only to find it was just a number of blocks straight down the street from our hotel LOLOL), and foxtails for all, spectacular Ron in white suit).
Fifth-Seventh: Queen London, wonderful group dinner of 45 – sooooo much fun meeting even more of you(guests from Mexico, Argentina and Atop also popped in unexpectedly), tea at the Ritz, the weekend at Stevenage with the Olympic torch, and ADAM singing THAT MUSIC, just beyond (no words)! He just FIT with them. Never felt so much joy in a theater, it was palpable.
Eighth: San Francisco Warfield. Only 30 minutes, but saturated with Trespassing goodness – he sounded great, and explained that he was really into preparing for the upcoming VH1 show. Great fun seeing friends and meeting more new ones. LOVED the city too, adventure for riskyhubby, first time I dragged him along.
Ninth: Helsinki! What can I say? Recap is posted on here. Loved the opportunity to see a wonderful country, meet EVEN MORE lovely ALLers, and again, this time a stadium full of joy very similar to the Queen experience but multiplied by about 3 (13,000 souls in unison loving Adam). The whole concert was a-maz-ing, the FYE section and Hot Stuff just galvanizing!!!
Tenth: Del Mar. Totally different version of Adam – more personal, more pure Adam, and my God, his voice. Even MORE ALLers = even more fun.

I didn’t include the Miami Jingle Ball back in 2010, where Adam’s beauty and style stood out so much from the mediocrity that it seemed he had been dropped in from another universe (with sparkly zebra pants YUM).

Could not pick a favorite. But I wouldn’t want to give up even one second of these experiences.
Sorry for the long-winded reminiscence!! It’s probably rs‘s fault. Evil Grin

  9. Kradamour says:

Wonder if that is true, ulti? That Adam has given a mil of his own $$$ – or if it is another piece of misinformation about what his fans have contributed?
    Question

  10. riskylady says:

RON! I feel very remiss at not mentioning this earlier. Really liked your video of “Sing.” It’s a lovely song (always loved Karen Carpenter) and you seemed to just be so happy and calm singing it. Very nice. Don’t care what they said on Facebook.

  11. rs says:

risky, I loved your reminiscence, and I am so very happy if it was my “fault”. Come to think of it, you have been part of every one of my Adam experiences Big Smile

  12. ultimathule says:

Would think fans, Krad, but, of course, not 100% certain on that.

  13. riskylady says:

This is especially for aely, fellow Roger Taylor fan. Not sure I agree with their choices, but gave me an education on early Queen. I especially LOVED their #10, a song that they describe as precursor to BoRhap, and which has the most AMAZING falsetto by Roger Taylor. Holy stratospheric notes!!! And he says ADAM has a one-in-a-million voice?!?! Roger was quite the eye candy too, love a handsome blond man in shades…

Happy anniversary to our ALL’ers who were in Des Moines last summer! We were at our lovely dinner in a lovely restaurant, let’s see, it was me, Jojosie, goatiegarden, adamaddict100, jlurks, tschrds, and several others, including our intrepid Suz526. I simply cannot believe it has been a whole year…

Great to hear an Adam song played at a major sports event in NZ. The Super XV rugby competition is played between teams in NZ,Australia and South Africa so it would have had a very large TV audience.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtcZDLgfjYE

    either.

  22. milwlovesadam says:

Thanks jlurks.maybe someone could tweet her or DM her and ask her to post us an update for us. It was such a thrill to meet her. We all had such a good time in your posh penthouse! Hoping all is well for her and her partner.

We all had so much swag that weekend! You had your Queen DVD’s, I decorated the tables with yellow and black goodies and a “list”, and there were several who had just come back from London with posters, tour books, it was so wonderful!

  23. luval says:

    Sheesh.

  25. milwlovesadam says:

    Rumors, rumors, rumors,….

Until something is announced, we know nothing.

It is kinda cool how much success Adam’s old “club” friends are having though. Katy Perry, Anna Kendricks, and even Ty from Vintage Trouble. That Zodiac crew was so super talented too.

Wonder if there will be any more announcements this week about what he’s up to…

  26. Kradamour says:

Wonder if there will be any more announcements this week about what he’s up to…

    Confused

  27. milwlovesadam says:

Here is hoping those announcements might include a razor…

    Oh, there’s always hope. Giggle

I don’t mind his facial hair at all, though. He’s handsome no matter what he has growing on his face, IMHO.

  28. Kradamour says:

I wish that I could make peace with it, mils. I have tried.
I just hate it. Ugh. I feel the way that a lot of peeps felt about the shaved head…
    Big Frown
And it is RIDICULOUS that I feel so strongly about facial hair on someone who is not any part of my personal reality.

  29. milwlovesadam says:

Must be the mother instinct he brings out in us at times.

I actually find his facial hair rather sexy. Sometimes when he is super clean shaven he just looks too young and baby-faced.

    To each his own…

  30. ultimathule says:

Sympathize with Krad, but, for me, stache or no stache, he’s still the sexiest thing on two legs stompin’ around the stage. And that Paso “Shout,” as I’ve mentioned before, is so testosterone loaded I expected the mic to explode. Pure maleness in all its glory. The vid is one of my prized possessions.

  37. HK fan says:

    Hi all…
greeting from a now wet UK
Managed to survive the flight, actually it was the best one I’ve had for a very long time. So after a 12 hour flight, 4 hours hanging around waiting for our motor home, a 3 hour drive, an 8 mile cycle ride we got to bed amid a crashing thunderstorm and heavy rain……
Bloody typical, the heatwave breaks as soon as we get here.

Need to go back and catch up on the posts I’ve missed.

  38. HK fan says:

re Idol….I like the idea of Katy Perry and Adam…think that would be a good pairing, good chemistry.

I’ve kind of gotten used to the facial hair, so probably don’t hate it as much as Krads….but the idea of a razor sounds good to me….

  39. turquoisewaters says:

Ron: I like the way you sing and your gestures. Your “Sing” is my lullaby for today and I don’t mean to imply that you are putting me to sleep. Laugh It’s just so sweet and friendly and puts a smile on my face.

  40. turquoisewaters says:

Somebody put me out of my misery with all the idol speculations. I can’t stand it anymore.

  41. turquoisewaters says:

Another reason Adam should get rid of his beard: even Adam Levine has one now. And looks like Santa Claus. Our Adam does not look bad with facial hair but I am with krad: take it off already. Oh yes, here is the offending picture (don’t get me started on that fugly shirt): http://m.justjared.com/p.p?m=b&a=rp&id=1061906026&postId=1061906026&postUserId=2832969&sessionToken=&DID=615&DFCL=1000&DSB=postDate%23desc&DBFQ=userId%3A2832969&DL.w=&DL.d=10&DQ=cat1%3A%22Home%22&DS=10

  42. rs says:

Hi HK fan, Glad that your flight wasn’t too bad. My flights to the US average 12 hours, too, so I know what you are going through. While the rain isn’t nice, you should be glad that the heat wave broke before you got there. You have enough of that in HK. When I saw what was going on this July, I was glad that it was cold when we were there last year (even if I complained the whole time, lol). The Brits have no idea how to deal with extremes, either of heat or of cold. Is your motor home air-conditioned? It is nice that we are on almost the same time zone. Just two hours difference.

turquoisewaters, I saw that photo of Adam Levine! It was horrible No Makes me appreciate “our” facial hair all the more, lol. I just hope nobody mixes them up again using this photo!

And I love the idea of Adam and Katy Pery sharing judging duties on Idol, but won’t get my hopes up until it is announced.

  43. rs says:

Just found this on MJs. It is the whole (almost updated) album of Adam dolls. Absolutely incredible. But are these the same dolls that we usually see? They seem to be even more intricate. How does she get exactly the same fabric for every shirt? The poster says that she is from Japan

    http://www.geocities.jp/kazuki3124/adamkun.htm

  44. luval says:

Good morning,rs..yes that is the same doll maker and she is from Japan. I’ve always wondered about the fabric too. Especially the latest purple white triangle one. And how about those many boots? How does one make those? The only outfit I wasn’t sure of was the red vest one but I think that may be from Wicked.

  45. rs says:
  46. rs says:

Maybe she copies the photos of Adam in the outfits and somehow prints them on fabric. Whatever she does, it is amazing.

  47. lisai says:

yes RS that’s exactly what happened.. The woman who sat next to me on the plane had me talk her ear off for about 2 hours during the flight. Airplane .. then I subsided into a dazed glorious feeling.. Listening to Music and flailed all over again when I got picked up from the airport.. Party it seems such a long time ago.. Clock wish I lived in the USA so I could have more opportunities to get my fix of him! Pill lol.. love these little emoticons. Heart

  48. lisai says:

the girl that does those dolls is amazing… i was looking at them all earlier on.. such an eye for detail.. Clap

  49. luval says:

That is it, rs. They do this on Project Runway all the time…copy fabric patterns or make their own. It’s scanned somehow. I think Kinko’s can even do it.

  50. luval says:

I see those fabric dolls all the time in Michael’s. Since 2009 I’ve always wanted to attempt to make an Adam doll. But then I think ” what would I do with it?” lol. Was thinking I could donate it to one of those raffles fans have at the parties before the show. I still have the doll, still have the bits of cloth but never went any further.

rs, just curious. Do you get cold winters wear you live?
