‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero
Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.
For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!

A JLo pic, IMO, is regressive. Striking woman, but she talked over the other judges and, surprisingly, has an extremely grating speaking voice. The only reason I’d watch Idol this year is if Adam is on. If not, I’m outtathere. So sick of this dangling the offer and USING him to get hits. Hateful. Give the guy the job or stop mentioning his name.
I’m with ulti. If Adam isn’t on, I’m unlikely to watch, but Adam fits with this panel so I am cautiously optimistic and will worry about how hard the others are to watch when the time comes.
Not exactly ulti. He said that Idol’s current fans would be happy, which could mean anything. When they asked about Keith he said that he and Keith had met earlier in the week and had hugged and said that they hoped to be spending a lot of time together in the future. Translation: panel not final and Keith still up in the air.
Then Ryan should zip it, too.

I’m sure Adam (if he goes to the shower) will get advice from someone as to a gift. Maybe from mom or Alison, Scarlet Cherry?

I think they have the panel. Ryan said they have chemistry. How would he know that if they didn’t exist. And yes, real life is pissing me off right now so that is what I want to believe. If they screw him over again I hope he cuts all ties with them. Enough of this crap.

For the shower gift, wouldn’t a tape of beautiful lullabies be a thoughtful and personal gift that would be used and cherished? That voice would be soothing for both parents and baby. I know I would die for that treasure.

ot..watched The Green Mile yesterday for the first time….god how sad, haven’t blubbed like that at a film for a long time….
I’m off to the UK tonight for 3 weeks so won’t be able to check in as much, especially the first 9 days as we are travelling round in a motor home…not my choice, but hopefully it’ll be fun.

HK, The Green Mile is one of my all time favorite movies. I hope you got to see it unedited. It was made by the same team that made Shawshank Redemption. Same screenwriter and director and cinematographer. Both were based on Stephen King short stories.

I don’t see how, unless he is lying, he doesn’t know who the panel is based on his quote. Adam and other alums fit that description and I still think it is a done deal. But, I still stick to my previous post, that if he is not on the panel he should never be associated with the show again. Enough.

As far as I’m concerned, the judges have been hired. It’s a done deal. Whether Adam is a part of that deal remains to be seen.
All of this speculation in newspapers, magazines, and blogs is meant to titillate people to keep people buying the same newspapers, magazines, and giving hits to the same blogs.

I don’t think JHud would generate excitement, Adam is more loved and has more music cred IMHO. Worldwide star.

I can’t think of one person who Adam wouldn’t have chemistry with. He is able to fit himself in with just about every person & situation. LOL except Clay Aiken, but even if that ever happened he would make it work.
I agree with Ron and aely about Idol. After all, Ryan says “the panel we have put together” – Have is past tense. Otherwise, he would have said we are putting together or something along those lines. Speaking as a lawyer, you don’t wait until a week before you are to announce the panel to finalize contracts – that would give too much leverage to the potential judges. I think they know how much excitement Adam would generate, most people liked Keith last year and he reportedly didn’t get paid that much. Between Miley, JLo and JHud, my vote would be for Miley – she seemed to get along well with Keith, loves Adam but would be happy to argue with him and she’s young and unpredictable. JLo would be a safe albeit boring choice and I think they were “testing the waters” with JHud and found that she doesn’t quite connect to the Idol audience. I could see her and will.i.am in some type of coaching role which would be great for Adam but I think they desperately need his wit and comedy (remember he’s practicing, maybe not just for Glee, which may not be a comedic role at all) on the judging panel. So we will see!

HK, when they show the edited Green Mile on TV that has commercials, they edit out the deaths and other more graphic scenes, as well as cuss words.
The edited Shawshank is ridiculous, it loses so much.
RE: Idol. I also believe the panel is set already. Everything going on now is just to sell magazines and get blog hits. And it works, it lathers up the fans for no reason.
Time will tell if it is Adam or not. I’m not getting my hopes up. Don’t want to be disappointed. Part of me actually doesn’t want him on the panel. It would just be gay gay gay all the fricking time. Gay jokes, Ryan’s overt flirting with him and then making jokes, tons of press criticizing him and talking about the gay instead of the music. All the time.
Part of me wants him on the panel just to demonstrate that an out and proud and super human being with talent that can tear the roof off can and will be a great judge.
I’m in the grey zone between the two sides.
Honestly, I don’t care whether the panel’s final yet, as long as Adam’s on it.

You have probably already left HK fan, but on the off chance that you check in here, have a wonderful trip. Remember how great your last trip to the UK was? It was when we all met and saw Adam and Queen. You have such a long flight ahead of you. What I do is turn on my I-pod, put in my earbuds, listen to Adam, and tune out everything else.

I can’t believe that this is breaking news on our local TV station.
Bieber is in town and was just spotted spitting off the balcony of his hotel room.
He makes mistakes … who doesn’t? … but he doesn’t learn from them. He keeps repeating them.
One of his little girl fans being interviewed said that he doesn’t always do the right things but it’s okay because he’s Justin Bieber and Justin Bieber is wonderful so he can do whatever he wants.
I feel sorry for the Biebs. It must be incredibly hard and lonely to grow up under a microscope with (apparently) no real guidance or real friends. Too much too fast. I don’t like to see photos that show his eyes…they look sad and empty to me. Haunting.
