‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero
Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.
For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!

I love all the speculation and guesses. I wish I had time to play but the company I work for just got sold and lots of us, me included, are losing jobs. To say it has been stressful is a massive understatement. I think I will be fine, crosses fingers, I think my old boss, who has become a friend, has something for me but it has been a sucky ass sad week.
The tweets and videos may all mean nothing but knowing Adam there is something in there and it has been a nice relief for me to read through all the ideas. My mind can’t even start to be creative right now!! Keep the ideas coming!! Whoever is closest should get an ACTUAL toaster. I’ll buy with my massive unemployment check….
One more quick note, I don’t think Johnny Depp would be all that bad an idea as Freddie. He is dark, kind of twisted and out there but extremely private at the same time. I have never heard him sing but they could dub that if needed. Wasn’t he in a musical? Anyway, I have no idea who they would get unless they go with an unknown. Any one else with ideas?

Oh aely, best of luck to you. Both my hubby and I have weathered unemployment this year. You will survive. Let Adam help relieve your stress. He helped me, I’ll be honest. His voice is very soothing. Stay especially.
On another note, I just am so very over Johnny Depp, with his mumbling his way through role after role with the same tired articulation and affected accents. He even interviews like that too. UGH. He simply doesn’t have the physical bearing to play Freddie.
He does weakly sing, he was in Sweeney Todd, which I actually liked , it was so dark and artistically well done, and he has been in a band since high school with friends. They still occasionally play at gigs around LA.
I just don’t see him as Freddie.
That happened to my brother-in-law a few years ago, aely – his boss was fired, too, but later found a place for both of them at another business. Just horrible time when one has a family to care for (and has to tell them).
Another family member just got hit by the sequester – lost 20% of her income.
Will be thinking of you and hoping things work out okay.

Love reading all the speculation re ‘clues’. Personally I haven’t come up with anything…..
Was on my own last night (well my daughter had a friend over, which means they stayed upstairs ignoring me….and all the boys were out watching football), so decided to revisit all Adams AI videos.
Watching them, just brings it all home again how far above every other Idol he was on that stage. His stage presence, charisma, performance skills, voice etc…..no one has come close, before or since. He brought an excitement and energy to that stage and to the audience that has been sorely lacking in the last 3 years. Haven’t heard the audience reactions like that since. The contestants in the last 3 year are all so dull and amateurish compared to him.
Yes, HK fan, can see why Paula and Kara were so outspoken in their praise – Randy, too. Fans of others would get annoyed, but, sorry, it was the truth. And the electricity he generated on the AI tour at his entrance – have one vid of just screaming – so funny.

So sorry to hear about your job aely. I was down-sized in February 2009 and Adam became my “new job”. If most of us here are anything to go by, Adam is particularly good at getting people through life’s low points. It sounds as though you have a good relationship with your former boss. Fingers crossed, things work out very soon.
The most intriguing info of the last 24 hours is that Cher is following Tommy. Can’t help but wonder if she might be touring. Maybe Tommy auditioned for her. THAT would be so great for him. We talked at Del Mar about how much better he gets with every concert. A tour with her while Adam does his Glee/Queen/song-writing would be so good for him. The TJR ninja’s are probably digging away to see if there were any calls for auditions.
The fact that she’s following him is very, very interesting.
OMFG! Cher has a promo-period coming up! She will tour in 2014. TJR is on his way into the big time!!!!

aely, after getting to know you through your posts on the blog and meeting you in person, however briefly, in San Diego (at dinner at the fish restaurant) I have no doubt that you will be just fine and are headed for bigger and better things. There is a saying in Hebrew, and probably in many other languages, too, about “When a door closes a window opens”. I hope that you won’t be jobless for more than you want to be, but I, too can recommend Adam and his music as a great soother of the soul. He came along at exactly the right time and helped me through a very difficult period when the agency where I had worked for 30 years was closed at the end of March, 2009, and we were all sent out for early retirement. (As bad as it was at first, it gave me more time to become an Adam stan, lol.) Of course, you are nowhere near the same situation, but surrounding yourself with his voice for a time and blocking everything else out does help.
As long as Tommy isn’t put into a position of having to chose between Adam and Cher

Not at all luval. TLKC was putting together the facts that Cher started following Tommy with the fact that she is putting out new music and will be touring next year. Not sure how realistic it is and how much it is wishful thinking. Lets say that it is realistic

It isn’t outside the realm of possibility. Ashley and Brian told tchrsd that they are on haitus now because Adam is busy. Cher is obviously putting together a band for the promotional period (which may or may not be the same band as next year’s tour band.)
Adam’s FYE promo tour was about 3 months long. He said at the time that the band wasn’t supposed to be “Adam Lambert’s band forever-and-all-times.” It just turned out that way.
This could be the same. If things work out well, Tommy might have a shot at a tour spot, though, for all we know, he is getting the promo gig because her regular guitarist is busy at the moment.
It’s would make sense of her following him. And it would look great on his resume.
ETA: dreaming in technicolour a bit but, heh! I don’t want to see Tommy working at a call centre for the next 8 months because no one wants him while Adam is busy with Queen, Glee and writing a new cd. I doubt Cher’s tour will be super-long.The timing looks good to me.
I said it is “realistic”, TLKC. Lets hope it comes true. Tommy deserves the opportunity (and the money, lol). If Adam gets busy in the future doing more non touring projects, it will be good for Tommy to make a name for himself and have gigs when Adam doesn’t need him.
