‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero

Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.

For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!
If you have any photos faves, please post them and I’ll add them below the video.
Enjoy the chat!

I know!! It turns out to be a busy month for you. First rs, and now me.
Before you know it you won’t be sitting, but lying down (from exhaustion)!

  2. Miss Chaos says:

Hope you guys in Paso Robles get a good show, Can wait to see.

Ron, Its a 109 here in NoCalif, and expected 111 tomorrow. Hope Adam doesnt get hit by the heat. Sweat Sweat

  3. TLKC says:

I STILL don’t have air conditioning. It has broken twice, the second time during the Glambert party last Saturday. The electrician came and will now fix it on Sunday evening. Another $400 out the door.

Looking forward to meeting you mieps.

  4. TLKC says:

You win Miss Chaos. I just worked out the conversion. We were 35 celsius yesterday, which is only 95 fahrenheit. The problem here is the humidity.

A policeman actually left some pre-made cookie dough on a cookie sheet in his car on Wednesday and when he came back they were fully baked.

  5. nkd says:

Oh Ron, TLKC and Miss Chaos, and others in the HOT zone, find some place cool for the afternoon. That’s hot!
We are suppose to have a high of 88 today. Of course we have thunderstorms in the area.
    This is weird!

  6. Miss Chaos says:

And about the stinkin heat, I dont have an Air Conditioner! I have what they call a Swamp Cooler ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL
And when it gets to 100 and above, do you think it blows cold air?? Guess again, it blows hot air ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL Its on the roof of the house, what are these people thinking that designed this, Swamp Cooler my ass, how about Swamp heater, the hotter the weather, the hotter the cooler ROTFL

  7. nkd says:

aely, you impress me even though I already knew that you were a Queen encyclopedia!

As for Adam’s role on Glee, it was probably mostly planned out before he signed on to the show. I don’t see him taking on an unknown role or direction, but yes he would make a great counselor.

  8. Miss Chaos says:

Another weather note then I am done. I am originally from Florida. When the weather gets to 95, and barely above that, the humidity gets to 100%, so you are walking around in a thick fog of sweat! But at least we had AC, and when I was outside, going into the house, it totally fogged up my glasses so bad I couldnt see! Nerd Smirk

  9. Kradamour says:

I bought my first car in Cleveland. A/C was an expensive option, so I didn’t get it – and then I moved (with the car) to Virginia.
    Nuff said…
    (pant pant gasp gasp)

On a trip to Quebec City some years back, there was a broiling hot heat wave – no A/C in our charming historic hotel, so guests were actually sleeping on the fire escape. Kinda fun but kinda awful…

    Have a great time retjenny!

mieps, You are going to have such a great time in Toronto! The Toronto Glamberts are such a warm, welcoming, fun, and generous group.

As proof, here is a link to three photos I took at the Saturday Luncheon at the home of TLKC (it was supposed to be from 1:00-5:00 but we unwillingly dragged ourselves away at 7:00, mainly because I had to pack to leave the next morning!). The flower is a beautiful long stemmed red rose that ronpresented me with as he entered the party, the second is a photo of him that I took and he has given me permission to post here, and the third is the fantastic cake that M and P brought. I have more photos, but I am posting them privately to those involved, sorry.

  12. retjenny says:

Hi all. Sorry about my last post. I was trying to use my phone . It is so old and keyboard too small so many typos. We are staying with friends that live here and have no wifi. Typing from Mac Donald’s now. We drove to the fair grounds to pick up tickets and discovered that will call doesn’t open until 2:00 p.m.

Our friends say that traffic is really, really bad when the fair is open. (Remind anyone of Del Mar?).

    Can’t wait for tonight! Grin

  13. TLKC says:

I read somewhere that people on the Upper East/West Side in NYC used to sleep in Central Park in the 40’s and 50’s, before AC was common. Apparently it was a family affair and a lot of people who were kids at the time remember it fondly.

  14. Soccermom says:

Since we are talking weather, that stormy situation that mieps had in Thunder Bay yesterday moved across Lake Superior last night so today we have a beautiful 79 degrees and breezy today in Duluth, MN! I actually spent an hour weeding today and did not pass out!

Ron, what a fabulous picture that rs posted! I think your eyebrows and beard are lighter than before – right? Or is it the lighting? And that blonde/white swoop on your forehead is so attractive. Prior pictures you have had your avi that have had darker hair on head and facially have (to me) been a little scary, particularly when the background color was red. But the picture rs posted shows you as much more approachable. It think maybe you are following the Adam less dark hair, less make-up trend?

  15. nkd says:

Have a great time retjenny! Thanks for reporting in.

  16. zzatrms says:

I bought a stylus to use on my phone … it makes it so much easier.

  17. TLKC says:

LOl rs. Ron and I were just on the phone about the next birthday and mieps’s timing.

Nice pics. You and P have provided the most amazing photo and video record of the last few weeks. Thanks so much for that.

  18. sparkle says:

I agree, Soccermom – fabulous pic of Ron! Ron, I absolutely love the jacket you are wearing and the rose that you gave rs is so beautiful that it doesn’t look real (like Adam sometimes)!
I think we ALL would enjoy that 79 degree weather right now!

  19. rs says:

Soccermom, ron is very approachable! I can attest to that. The whole outfit was very snazzy (do people still use that word?). I especially loved the silver belt! The rose was magnificent. I had to take a photo of it since unfortunately I couldn’t take it home with me. They would have never let it on a transatlantic flight

  20. Kradamour says:

Should probably leave this alone, but gonna put in mes deux sous (caught your charming “bien sûr“, Ron!) on the gauges…I remember when they happened, and I cringed.
    Ditto for the tattoos…
If our guy is going to do acting roles (and he is! Yay!) I don’t want anything to limit him.
Kids think that they will never get old, their bodies will never get flabby, their skin will never lose elasticity, and they make some really bad decisions.
Yesterday I was walking and saw a lovely woman, dressed fashionably but modestly, walking with her teenage son. As she went past, I saw that on the back of each calf was a large blurry older tattoo – roses? I think so – that was such a disconnect with her present reality. It made me sad for her.

  21. Soccermom says:

Krad – since you are a teacher currently (have you explained why you stopped practicing law?), do you think the gauging trend is declining now?

When I was researching it a bit related to my angst about Adam, there seemed to be a lot of postings of people inquiring on how to best shrink back their gauge size, and whether it would shrink back all the way, and how even those employed in a retail store were frustrated by lack of promotion and state they know it is the stretched ear piercings because their supervisors can’t keep from staring – sort of like a creep guy that can’t keep his eyes from a female’s boobs, only for the guy it is fascination and attraction, while for the ear piercing/stretching it is more a WTF.

I have a strong dislike of leg and feet tattoos as well. Don’t mind arm sleeves as much as dislike leg/feet. Just have never seen a leg/foot tattoo that was attractive except maybe a small butterfly or rose on an ankle of a woman.

  22. nkd says:

There is hardly an actor in Hollywood without tattoos these days and lots of piercings. If Adam were to become a serious actor the gauges may become a problem at some point, but that’s a big if. Less conspicuous studs could be worn if needed.
Not that I particularly like them, but Adam has had the gauges since we’ve known him and it’s part of him now.
He didn’t have them in the auditions or Hollywood rounds of Idol but did before the live rounds started. Maybe he thought they made him more rock n roll. Didn’t he also get the first tattoo just before Idol started?

Ron, what a fabulous picture that rs posted! I think your eyebrows and beard are lighter than before – right? Or is it the lighting? And that blonde/white swoop on your forehead is so attractive.

That’s very nice of you Soccermom. Thank you! Hug Right

It was a very bright and sunny day. It’s the lighting in the room because hair and goatee are very dark brown.

In looking at that photo that rs took – and this is the first time that I’ve thought this – I think I’ve got a little “Cruella Deville” going on with the hair!

    Laugh

I’m going to have to do some about that!

  24. Kradamour says:

soccermom, I have never had a student with gauges; it doesn’t seem to be popular at all in my part of Virginia.
And I think that is part of my concern – trends are often regional. Something that looks completely normal in LA or NYC or any other city may look very peculiar elsewhere, and it is hard to gauge response out of one’s own circle. (sorry, didn’t intend what looks like a pun.)

As to my career path…it would take a whole thread to work through it. Have also been a buyer for a chain of department stores. And taught law. I became a lawyer by accident, actually, but I am not sorry it happened.
    Smile

  25. AL says:

The thread for tonight’s concert is now posted for your viewing and posting pleasure. Concert starts at 7:30 PM PT with Allison opening. We have dinner and twitter feeds.

And I’m sure, despite her grief, Lea is probably a firm believer in the motto “the show must go on.”

Sad, but I think there is a song for that weep

  27. Soccermom says:
  28. Soccermom says:

Well that didn’t work – everything ended up being a link to the picture of how his ears were when on Idol. Can someone tell me how to properly use the link thingy?

  29. AL says:

Soccermom, you just need to copy and paste the link directly into your comment. You don’t need to use the blue “LINK” command to post direct links.
Your links should look like this in your post.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEcUq0tmg9Y

  30. nkd says:

I think they have been zero gauge for quite some time now. The difference is in the size of the earrings he wears. When he wears a wide rimmed open earring it appears to be much larger when the actual hole is the same. That’s my opinion anyway for what it’s worth! Big Smile

ETA I remember him answering that they were zero and were staying at that size several years ago, before he answered it just recently. That’s why I said what I did.

  31. Miss Chaos says:

Al, Is there a setting to keep the posts up to date as they come in without refreshing the page? See your probably sorry I came back to post ROTFL

  32. AL says:

Al, Is there a setting to keep the posts up to date as they come in without refreshing the page? See your probably sorry I came back to post

Nope, no such setting unfortunately. My F5 key is worn out from keeping up to date during concerts.
And I’m happy that you’re back! Yes Dance Clap Blowing Kisses Drink Rose Party

  33. Soccermom says:

Thanks AL, that is much easier! What’s the Link tool for then?

I agree nkd, I think they have been about zero gauge since Glamnation tour, but they appear to only have been on the way to that size while on idol and before Glamnation tour. And of course, you are right again – Glamnation tour is a long time ago now! Here’s hoping he was stretching them slowly like you are supposed to because then they will be more likely to be able go backwards successfully!

  34. milwlovesadam says:

Whoever it was that posted that Adam should be the guidance counselor, just may be on to something since Jemma Mays isn’t coming back to Glee. Which is so strange, because her character FINALLY married Mr Shue.

But, I really really really want him in New York with Rachel and Curt.

  35. nkd says:

As long as he’s singing mils!

Hmmm, a really edgy rock n roll guidance counselor.
Or a nerdy meek guidance counselor that has yet to find his rock side. Interesting possibilities.

  36. milwlovesadam says:

I simply am not worried about the gages guys. At all. He can have plastic surgery easily if and when he wants to have surgery. It is so very minor a procedure for teh work it would take to fix those smallish holes.

He can wear flesh color coverings with magnetic holdings, so nothing would show on camera.

Also, I have seen many actors and performers with gages on TV recently. Adam Levine comes to mind in American Horror Story ( a singer and song writer who had a guest starring role on a hugely popular and award winning show on TV. ) ‘Nuff said.

I’m glad my new baby Twinbert story was so well received. I will send her the link posted for Queen July 14th.

I will also send her choice nuggets, but, I need some help. Could any of you while waiting for tonight’s show please post some of these? I don’t keep stuff…bad fan.

That amazeballs gif of him walking the runway in Japan or China in that long black overcoat, maybe with cowboy music playing?

Some modeling poses? Details, anything super sexy. Japan with blonde hair and that choker? Backward bendy pics?

I’ll be sending her things like LA finales, Cologne, Sandman, Fantasy Springs, Napa, Stay, AYGGMW, and Amsterdam.

TeeHee, can’t forget my stairs. WLL in Milwaukee.

    Sleepwalker Leno. Who has it?

    Thanks guys.

Oooh. Hubby just got home with Thai food. Yummy. Thai and Adam. Not too shabby.

  37. milwlovesadam says:

Ooh, nkd. Just the right person to show up!!! Yay!! Can ‘ya help with my requests?

I’ll share my spring roll…bribery…it’s a good thing.

I like your idea for Glee. But. I am still holding on for my idea of a (glam) rock band in New York who needs a new lead singer.

  38. nkd says:

    Will work on it mils!
I have gifs bookmarked, but have to look through them all to find what I’m looking for, and sometimes I get distracted!

    Whew.

Is it the weather, or is it getting hot in here?

  48. milwlovesadam says:

dcglam, I totes forgot how to use our own sandbox!! Thanks for the reminder…

Now, yes, the weather report….98.6 and rising…

  49. HK fan says:

re weather……we rarely get above 34c here, but like TLKC said, its the humidity that’s the worse, it often gets to 100%, but averages 95%.
A couple of years ago when we were visiting Italy and Vienna, the weather was glorious 29-30c every day…everyone did nothing but moan about how hot it was, but we found it beautiful and comfortable as the humidity was so low. Its raining again at the moment here, the trouble of living in a semi tropical place…lots and lots of rain.

soccermom, you’ve done well not having any tattoos or piercings on your kids….my eldest daughter has 6 in one ear, 4 in the other, her nose pierced, and 2 in her belly button, plus 2 tattoos, my son has just got his 2nd tattoo, Originally the 2nd one was going to be on the bottom of his leg, the place where we live in Chinese characters, but his boss doesn’t like tattoos that are visible at work (he coaches football to kids and wears shorts and short socks all the time), so he had it done on the side of his body.
Even my 11 yo has 2 holes in one ear, I have 3 in each ear, but nowhere else and no tattoos…..although I’m tempted as a 50th birthday pressie!!!

And to bring it back on topic……The rock band scenario a la Mils, sounds good….but would maybe limited to a shorter time, whereas the new school counsellor could be ongoing for much longer. Lea (Rachel) is probably my least favourite character on Glee, although I do think her voice would be great with Adams.

  50. luval says:

Wow…I’ve never seen that “Welcome to the Jungle”. One of the best fan videos ever next to Rude Boy IMO.

I miss that Adam. Makeup, crazy sexy, dancey… just waiting for the right moment to reappear. Right now is not the time.
