Exciting times are upon us as July begins! Adam has just completed an outstanding first full length concert with Queen at a charity event in Kiev, Ukraine (as captured in the photo above). Five more Queen + Adam Lambert concerts are lined up for Moscow, Wroclaw (Poland) and London during the next couple of weeks. Adam will then return to the United States to play a series of solo concerts during the second half of the month, including gigs in Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Des Moines, Thackerville (Oklahoma), and a much anticipated return to the site of one of his first and most memorable concerts at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. All told, Adam will perform in 10 live concerts this month, which will make this his busiest month for live performances since November 2010 when he was in the European portion of the Glam Nation Tour. As always, enjoy the chat!

Beginning the July with this album review… Mostly positive, starting with Queen reference. But why don’t they join me loving the latter part of the album Frown

“Out here tomorrow, Trespassing is an oddly artisanal club-pop record. It will almost certainly make Lambert a star here in Europe, a continent not averse to pumping, anthemic, hi-NRG rave pop such as Cuckoo, one of this album’s immediate pleasures.”

Hi all, well I arrived yesterday, Worst fight ever, took off in a T8 storm signal……
Was getting dressed this morning when I put the tv on, happened to switch to friday Download just as they showed a glimpse of Adam, so stayed watching and saw the hot and cold segment and him singing his song. So great to be in England and watching him on the tv. He looked so happy and I loved seeing all the kids dancing and jumping along to him.
i’m off back to the Kieve thread, so far have only watched the first video….so amazing, and that crowd.

BTW Mils loved your list from the other thread, had me laughing out loud.

KIEV – AN AMAZING NIGHT !

    Well, we did one !

A show ! And … well, it is out there in cyberspace already, spinning around the world.

For a first show, I think, with all its train wrecks, it was a good first outing …

I was at times quite mesmerised by what Adam was doing and sometimes forgot to play !! ha ha.

My daughter took some pictures …

Thanks to all the great folks who stood and rocked for many hours in Kiev’s Freedom Square … you guys are the best.

    Love

    Bri

  7. LadyNorth says:

HK fan, glad you are in one piece and safely in UK…

The best video is the full concert (check Cher’s and my link), but I think the encores are not in that. It’s the HD picture and sound Smile

  8. adamized says:

HK fan, isn’t it funny what we put ourselves through to see and support our guy! Thank goodness you made it and are now getting the rewards of being in the UK for some epic performances. Loved Brian’s comments. As I go back and re-watch the show I notice some huge blunders, etc. but the energy and joy was so much part of the evening it didn’t really matter. By the time we get them here in the US (fingers crossed) maybe Adam will know which one is Brian and which one is Roger (hah!)

  9. luval says:

    Great photo ewyflyer!!!!!

Adamized…I watched most of the show again. Loved it even better this time. Did he really mess up their names?

  10. adamized says:

Hi luval, seems to me that after Brian did an incredible solo on the guitar, Adam said Roger Taylor. Then he sort of laughed and said Roger Taylor on drums, and now I will sing with Roger Taylor. This was right before Under Pressure.

I loved, loved, loved UP btw. Really special.

Cher, thanks for the link. Perfect

As what usually happens after these shows, I start posting on the wrong thread. I guess after a point everyone will move here to the July thread.

HK fan, thanks, I make those lists just for that reason. They are intended to be taken with a grain of salt!! I’m glad you liked it!!

And, I’m glad you made it to your destination in one piece! Sounds like you had a rough flight, yuck, we’ve all had bad flights we could share about. Would you like me to tell you about the time I was using my barf bag, while my son ( #2 who was 6 years old at the time) was sitting next to me using his simultaneously, but it was held for him by the total stranger sitting next to him who happened to be a medical student?

No, you don’t want to hear about it? Okay, then I won’t share!! Oh. Too late! I already did!

  13. milwlovesadam says:

Has anybody been over to Home Planet today? I was laughing out loud. Out loud.

Gawd, I just love this fandom.

  14. luval says:

omg…how she finds those appropriate gifs!

  15. adamized says:

OK, Just re-watched and Adam didn’t blunder. He said Brian May first and then Roger Taylor.

It is weird that there is so little press both in the UK and here. When I googled Adam it only had info about the party Elton had a few nights ago.

  16. adamized says:

Oops, stand corrected again. Neon Limelight had a great review with the links to the concert. Gave Adam kudos he deserved.

  21. Ellessay says:

I’d looked up Brian May and Roger Taylor on Wikipedia some time back and saw where they had written most of the songs they performed last night. Got me thinking, wouldn’t it be crazy if Brian and/or Roger and Adam collaborated on some songwriting for Adam’s next album. Or if they were inspired to write some new songs for Adam to record with Queen.

Adam could learn a lot from Brian and Roger.

  22. Ellessay says:

Something I didn’t know about Roger Taylor:

His voice was very recognisable, for both its high range (he would often reach a E5 in full voice during live performances) and raspiness. His extremely high falsetto, sometimes going above a A5, was characteristic of Queen’s vocal harmonies, and was often thought to be a woman’s voice, or a synthesiser effect (most notably his screams on “In the Lap of the Gods”, written by Mercury). His vocal range spans four octaves (E2-E6).

    Also he sang:

“Bohemian Rhapsody” – A Night at the Opera (High-falsetto vocals, such as the scream-part “for me…”, that blasts the song off to the heavier section)

Nothing on Wikipedia about him. I didn’t know much about Queen beyond the music I heard on the radio. Strange, since they have so many hit songs. The only thing I can figure is that I didn’t pay attention to much that happened from 1973-1982 because I was too busy having babies, four of them! Had a bit of the Madonna era before I had to start dealing with teenager issues. LOL.

He said, “We want to keep the music alive and give it an energy that would have made Freddie proud. You can’t replace him. But playing with QUEEN is the best thing that could happen to me. My intention is to pay tribute to Freddie. I’m looking forward to spending time with Brian and Roger. I want to make myself familiar with their more obscure songs and hear some stories from the guys themselves. I’ll get my own personal QUEEN documentary. Working with them is going to be a great honor, but I’m also very keen for people to hear my own music, so who knows what the future will hold?”

    Hi ALL,
I’ve been watching the full concert video over and over again. Sleepless in Saudi!!!

The more I watch it the more I see more details. More laughs, more cries, more gigles, more amazaballs and more joy and happiness.
The whole band had a blast. Queen is alive and vigorous again with fresher young Adam.

This Kiev Queen/Adam concert will go down in history as an epic.

Adam is a midas, Everything glows after he touches it.
He touches me. My heart glows. I smile whenever I think of him or talk about him. My hubbie and friends notice when I talk about Adam. I just can’t hide it. Are you like me? Please tell me I’m not cuckoo.

I ran out of adjectives to describe this EPICNESS. Need to buy me a thesaurus.

Those who will attend the concerts in Moscow, Wroclaw and London, you are very lucky.

Have a wonderful time. Please share all your goodies with us and let us relive through your experiences.

I need to go to pack and I’ll have the Kiev concert on in the background.

    Wishful thinking!!!

  34. LadyNorth says:

Asif, you seem to describe very same feelings that I shared on the concert thread SmileI find something new every time.

And thanks, you gave some very nice links. I think that “fans rocking” was from some Russian tv channel report/news? I bet Eastern Europe knows now very well who is Adam Lambert… And hopefully the rest of the Europe after the London shows. I assume it gets more to the news there then. But Ukraine gave best the videos, that’s for sure.

The Bohemian Rhapsody video was very beautiful. First Adam, looking so young and passioned raw talent, then later a world class star. The timing is perfect – he needed first to have experience from the GNT tour and to find himself as an artist and person. Now he was SO ready to step his shoes to Freddy’s. Someone commented on the QueenOnline (or Rolling Stone News) that “This guy has to have balls of steel to have courage to do this”. Oh Adam, you are amazing!

  35. LadyNorth says:

Has any one of you given a thought what happens when the world wakes up and starts to desire for more? I have seen many comments where people (Queen fans?) suggest there should be a world tour… I am sure Adam is not going to abandon his own music, but how to balance between possible two things? On a way I think it’s a waste to do only six concerts of this great show. I would have never believed in advance it was 2 hours! I think Adam did more songs than on GNT? But maybe if more concerts are going to happen (I am quite sure of that) it will be later this year after more promos of Trespassing.

A dream: Adam performing Runnin’ live with Brian on the quitar and Roger on drums and those three together making a spectacular rocky arrangement of that song… ?

  36. eywflyer says:

LadyNorth, I fully expect there to be at least a few additional Queen + Adam dates announced at some point. I noticed that the Queen Extravaganza has its final date tomorrow. They would not have wanted to step on those ticket sales by announcing actual Queen dates in North America, but once the last Extravaganza show is done they might. Scheduling to get Brian/Roger/Adam all together won’t be easy, but I’m sure it can be done.

  37. milwlovesadam says:

Ladynorth, GN shows were only 50 minutes to maybe an hour and 15 minutes with encores. Everybody would say that they were way too short. This Queen show was way longer than any solo concert Adam has ever given. Well, maybe if somebody does the math, when you subtract out Roger and Brian’s solos, maybe his actual time was like a GN show. Whatever, this was massive!!!

I’m hoping for some exposure on shows like E, and Access Hollywood, this week here in the states. And, hopefully some acknowledgement in RS and People.

Have a busy day today, gotta listen to a couple of songs before I leave the house. Does anybody have the best quality of the show so that I can burn a CD? I’ll need my sons’ help, I can’t remember how!! ( tech dork here )

  39. Ceddies says:

Good morning everyone. I have to ask a question. Has anyone had any new computer problems following the concert Saturday? My computer (which acts crazy at times anyway) has really been wonky. It all started about an hour after I went onto the sites listed for the streams. Things like when I have four or five tabs open in the same window, the titles of each tab will disappear—along with the title on the start button. When I click on the space where the “start” word should be, it opens the window but some of the icons are missing along with many of the descriptions. Even when the warning windows pop up, they have no words (like you’re about to close 3 tabs, etc). It’s crazy. It’s still happening today even though I’ve done virus scans from Avast and Microsoft. Anyone else having similar problems?

  40. Calgary says:

Ceddies I was having some problems, mostly with really slow response. It didn’t occur to me that it was related to the streams. Have you tried a total reboot? i.e. quit everything and shut the computer off? Also, you an go in and get rid of all your cookies. That will make things a bit slower when you first go on your favourite sites, but only the first time.

  41. Ceddies says:

Thanks, Calgary. Glad you’re not having too many problems. I did do a total closeout and shutdown. Everything comes back up okay, fast, but after a few hours, it starts over again with the blank spaces. I don’t know much about computers (oh, you guessed that?), so I haven’t done the cookies. I’m always afraid to do things like that for fear of messing something else up. Maybe it will settle down soon.

Oh well, I was just wondering if there might be a connection with some of the sites from that area. Seems that one time someone mentioned lots of viruses came in from that area. Not trying to offend anyone here. Apologies if I have offended anyone.

  42. Ceddies says:

A little OT, but Anderson Cooper just came out as being gay. He said that in a perfect world it wouldn’t be anyone’s business, but that there is value to standing up and being counted. Glad he finally joined Adam, Ricky Martin, and all other out, proud, and happy folks.

  43. LadyNorth says:

So many Kiev concert news -links coming in twitter it’s impossible to keep up Smile Well, the videos are definitely spreading… Mils, I checked my official GNT DVD and it was just about 1 hour. In some concerts probably longer encores I think. It was a great show but I could have watched it much longer Smile On the Kiev show I was waiting for 1,5 hours (it was said somewhere) but it continued and continued. Oh pleasure! Eywflier, you’re probably right about the Extravaganza issue, and I think Queen wants people to hear about these first concerts before they announce possible next ones..
