Hi everyone!   I realize some of you don’t like the eyes pictures but I think this one is beautiful.  I think of looking ahead to the Festival, new single, next album and tour when I look at this picture.  This month all of us will have a huge treat to look forward to with Adam performing at the St. Agathe en Feux Festival and my good friend Suz526’s videos on 7/29!   Please keep us all updated on the plans of the rather sizeable group of you who will be attending this concert as those of us who can’t make it to Canada will live vicariously through you for this one!

Thursday evening July 7th update: thanks to angelowal, we now have a translated link to FAQs for the Festival!

    ROFLMAO, Ron! Rolls Eyes

I was once at a dive restaurant in southern Maryland that offered a fried chicken sandwich. Sounded like an option, compared to the other drek delicacies.
I was asked what piece did I want? Huh? Price depended on choice of piece of chicken. Huh? Okay, looks like they slice the meat off the bone and you can choose what piece, cool! My opinion of the place went way up! until I got the sandwich. It was a thigh between two pieces of bread, served with hot sauce on the side. Srsly? And I eat this how? I looked around and suddenly noticed that everyone was eathing one of these sandwiches and bones were coming out of the sides of their mouths as they chewed the sandwich. Wish there had been cell phone cameras back then. I try to explain this to people but you really had to see it. Or not. Rolls Eyes

I actually think that is an urban legend, though. Seems to me I read a different explanation that made more sense in the civilized colonies. Hmmm…

kradamour, of course it’s an urban legend. I quoted this, cause I found that explanation hilarious. Smile
Although all the time I am amazed by the many ways folks are holding fork and knife.I think I’ve seen every variation so far…
I love your story of a chicken sandwich.LOL.
On the other hand, I have friend who considers herself “a real lady” and she eats all finger foods with fork and knife. I have to admit that she often looks quite idiotic. Grin

  3. Ron says:

    Hi Kradamour!

That’s funny! Sounds like a Bone Sandwich with some chicken added for flavor. Smile

Are you and I hosting a grab-bag draw for prizes as Cher demanded Smile asked us to do on Thursday?

Wish me luck :!: I’m going to check my mail. Rolls Eyes

  4. Ron says:

Okay … I’m delaying the inevitable … for now.

    Hi Oksana!

One thing I’ve never understood is people using a knife and fork to eat a pizza. I once tried it and, for some strange reason, it doesn’t taste the same at all as it does when you eat it from your hand.

  5. nkd says:

    LOL Ron!
My theory to Americans laying down their knife while eating, is so the other hand is available to operate smart phones keeping up with the latest on AFL! Wink

  6. Oksana2000 says:

Ron, pizza? Try buffalo wings.. Smile
I was watching my friend and waiting for that moment when little bones will start flying from her plate.. Smile

  7. Ron says:

    Still delaying …

You’ve got me beat Oksana! Buffalo Wings?!?? Too funny!

  8. Ron says:

And so the wait continues. Frown

There’s one more chance tomorrow. Rolls Eyes

I always eat with a knife and fork (unless I’m using chopsticks!), I found that part of Saulis blog interesting that Americans don’t eat holding the knife…even the bit about having to have alcohol in paper bags. See how educational it is following Adam and his friends…and my husband thinks I’m wasting my time on these blogs!

You are so right, very educational. Had I not read Sauli’s blog and today subsequent conversations, I would have wondered if she was contemplating stabbing me as she was on my left and knife pointed in my direction. Smile

By the way she was using the knife for smoked baby back ribs that the rest of us were eating with our hands. LOL she probably thought we were very improper. At least I was proper recently educated enough to not comment to her about it.

Ron keeping my watsits and everything crossed for a passport for you tomorrow.

Good morning, 7/25/10 brought the second of two Glam Nation Tour dates at the Warfield in San Francisco:

    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-san-francisco-ca-072510

The tour had an off day on 7/26, then played in front of the largest crowds for any Glam Nation date in the U.S. on 7/27 and 7/28.

Looking forward to meeting many of y’all Thursday at the dinner!

ETA new info posted at the FAQ:

No queue will not be tolerated around the site shows because it is located in a residential area, space is limited around and be free at all times for security reasons. The site opens at 6:00 p.m., the shows are at 9:00 p.m. ET fireworks to 10:45 p.m. The queues will be permitted after 5:00 p.m. the day of your show.

No advanced line up is allowed around the site of the shows because the site is located in a residential area, the space available around the site is scarce and we need the area around the site to be cleared at all time for security reason.

Hmm, this is gonna be interesting. GA is always so stressful. My last experience with GA consisted of showing up at the Starland Ballroom at 9am, sitting in the 100 degree heat for 9 hours almost leaning against the doors (only two people in front of me), then watching helplessly as about 300 people who had bought “star parking” (which I didn’t know about) show up right before the doors opened and go in ahead of the line I was in. I was glad that was the only GA show I went to in the GNT.

On the bright side – we get to spend the day enjoying the festival and other activities in the area, rather than waiting in line all day.

Also, “fireworks to 1045pm”, I wonder if that means the fireworks will be ending at 1045, or starting then? If they will be over with at 1045, it’s unlikely that the show itself will last much longer than an hour. Hopefully that is not the case.

  11. Calgary says:

    eyw
It says on the french site that the fireworks start at 10.30 and are 15 minutes long.

I’m aching to be there but it’s just not feasible. I hope that the SpaWatel has free wifi and that some of you lucky travellers will have communications technology on hand to keep us from starving in the wilderness!

Wouldn’t a live stream be amaaaaazing?

  12. eywflyer says:

Calgary, thanks for that additional info. Sounds like we will probably see a 60-70 minute set.

  13. Ron says:

    Hi eywflyer!

I read that the concerts will run a minimum of 90 minutes to 2 hours and 15 minutes depending on the artist. I assume the 2+ hour show is Kenny Rogers.

I’m optimistic we’ll have a 90 minute show from Adam. It will be mostly GNT songs, but add in a few more cover songs we haven’t heard him do, Master Plan, PUU, one or two songs from the new CD, toss in ACIGC and we’ve got ourselves a 90 minute show!

    Just speculation, of course.

This won’t happen but … that crowd would go absolutley NUTS if Adam sang (phonetically) a song in French! He once sang Hebrew phonetically. It’s not likely but I’m sure he’s mastered a few French phrases that will be very much appreciated by this largely French-Canadian audience.

  14. jlurksacto says:

I’ve been following jlurksacto’s pulsating blip on my radar screen as he continues his journey east. I hope he doesn’t find the tracking device I had planted on his car to louse things up!

Ron, found it immediatey, not possible to louse anything up,
so left in place (as you know) cause you/we just wanna have fun!
Trip east continues tomorrow. Enjoying family but they getting ready for trip to Greece (leaving 1 Aug for 3 weeks). Lansing, Mi tomorrow – Toronto/Montreal Wed.

  15. eywflyer says:

Hi Ron! Perhaps they are planning to have the fireworks shoot off the moment the concert ends, in which case a 90 minute show would be possible. Adam will need to be on time to start this one!

I’d be surprised if we don’t hear at least one “non-standard” song, whether it be something not performed or rarely performed from FYE, or maybe even a new song. With BTM coming up August 7th and perhaps a new single in September, the timing is about right now for Adam to start generating some fresh buzz, which will only happen with new/different music.

FWIW, the latest Environment Canada forecast for Sainte-Agathe has removed the rain chance entirely for Friday, now saying sunny with a high of 28 and a low of 16. Hopefully that holds up!

  16. Ron says:

Safe trip, jlurksacto! Thanks for checking in!

I’ve got my eye on you. Wink

Adam tried out some French at the Trabendo in Paris, and seemed to want to do more; in some interview somewhere in the early post-Idol days he said he wished he spoke a foreign language, and specified French as one he would like to speak.
At one point Leila was thinking about giving everyone French language-learning programs as the family gift for the winter holidays, and even went shopping/looking at them. Didn’t hear more, though; perhaps Finnish would make more sense, under the circumstances. It would make me so happy if it happened, though! I am all about peeps learning to speak French! (yes, I know that is a surprise to y’all… Rolls Eyes )

Looks like Adam is bringing the fire/heat with him and taking it away when he leaves. LOL

Just popping in for a moment. On my way back to hospital to visit my mom. Am nearly all packed and planning to get on the road very early in the morning as soon as I speak with her new doc (hers is on vacation). Oh, and yes, I am sooooooooo excited.

Gotta drop this in before I go. Calgary, I am secretly (well, I was secretly) hoping for a surprise sighting (somewhere) of Dan Hill. Haven’t checked to see if he is out of the country in concert, and I also realize that we are not going to Toronto where I think he lives. That would just be too much for me to handle–two of my main musical interests in one trip. Then, that would leave me yearning for a Bowie sighting.

Will try to check back before I hit the road in the a.m.

  21. ultimathule says:

Adam and Sauli should both learn French – that should prove interesting – as well as appropriate.

  22. turquoisewaters says:

Have a great trip, Ceddies. I hope your mom is well and good luck with the surprise sightings! Thanks to my imagination, I had no trouble finding Adam in the Rodin museum. Just the mic was missing. http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/works-of-art/07.127 (They even had the Adam/Tommy kiss from Amsterdam: http://justinsomnia.org/archive/freshman/Art_Rodin_The_Kiss.jpg – I am going to draw the line here.)

So happy for Adam, he has the greatest male voice of all times. He deserves all the fame. My daughter and I are very anxious to see Adam at Ste-Agathe. I don’t know what my reaction will be. Safe travelling everyone. Looking forward to meeting you all.

The website I like best for checking weather up here in Canada is Environment Canada. They generally get it right, and right now they are calling for sunny skies, 28 degrees C (82 degrees F) during the day for Friday; 16 degrees C for the evening.

Hello My Lovlies, been lurking mostly and waiting patiently for anything new from BB. Very happy for and jealous of all you attending the festival in Canada. Here are my wishes, be safe, have a blast, meet new peeps, sniff Adam, hug Adam, look directly into his beautiful blue eyes, take vids and share share share!!!!

  27. Kradamour says:

Adam and Sauli should both learn French – that should prove interesting – as well as appropriate.

And it would be a second language for each of them. In a long-term relationship, it is good to have a neutral third language for “discussions”, so that one party is not at a disadvantage for explaining his feelings to the other, be they positive or negative. I know several couples with different first languages who use French as the default when there are disagreements, as a point of fairness. It also forces each party to really think about what he is saying, which is a good thing.

Dianea01, are you new or am I absentminded? Soyez la bienvenue! et j’attends le plaisir de faire votre connaissance à Ste Agathe!

turquoisewaters, of course! Rodin! LMAO! Sigh. We see Adam everywhere…not sure about seeing Tommy with boobs, though, gotta say… Rolls Eyes

Speaking of remixes, I heard the Adele Rolling in the Deep remix today. Don’t like it. That is not a song for the dance floor. Period. WTF?

  28. luval says:

Kradamour…I hated that Rolling in the Deep remix too. Hated WWFM remix and a few others. Seems like producers or the record companies want every drop of blood they can get out of a song. Well, someone is going to like it. Just not me ! Smile

  29. Kradamour says:

luval, I hear you. I rarely enjoy the remixes. Don’t get it, except (as you point out) that they want to wring out every dollar and every bit of buzz. But I can’t help thinking that it also tarnishes the initial recording to have different versions on the radio. So, which one does the artist stand behind? All of them? Is he/she really that indecisive about his/her music? Then why should I care about it?
The one exception is that I don’t mind some of the remixes that are destined solely for the dance floor, not radio, to make them more dance-able.

  30. HK fan says:

Here’s a new pic of Adam I just saw on twitter

    http://tinyurl.com/3v7rzu5

and Adam beat Jared Leto in the mix94.1 sexiest man of mix poll, and is now against Rib Thomas (whoever he is) in the final 4. Voting from now until wednesday.

  31. nkd says:

Ceddies, drive carefully and stay safe. I can hardly wait to meet you in a few days!
That goes for all others headed to Ste Agathe!

turquoisewaters, wow, you saw Adam?!!! LOL
I have to agree with kradamour, not seeing Tommy with boobs!

  32. Kradamour says:

For those of you who are going to Ste Agathe, if you have Sprint as your cell carrier, and plan to call the US (and don’t have a phone with a chip that can be switched out) put international calling on your phone for $4.00/month and then calls to the US will be .09/minute – cancel the plan when you get back. Texts will be .20 each, incoming or outgoing.

  33. milwlovesadam says:

Safe travels to everyone. Have fun meeting everybody, dining together, eating with knives, forks and bare hands.

How is poutine properly eaten? With fingers, like fries? With a fork like chili fries, well, at least the messiest part, but, certainly not with knife and fork? I mean , seriously, it’s just super slopped up fries, gravy and mess. I’d take a pass. My stomach would be eternally grateful.

Please send a picture or two of the fan groupings. Or, do as we did in Hawaii, and put your hands or tootsies together for a snapshot.

I’ll be here. With my whine and chocolate ( and sugar free 10 calorie Popsicles ). My question remains, will there be “dinner” to go with my whine?

  34. milwlovesadam says:

For what it’s worth, I looooooooooooove Soaked. I still listen to it at times. It absolutely kills me. The Vocal. The Drama. The Lyrics. The Grandeur. The Acapella Part. The CD is good. The DVD is better. Certain GN performances, slay me.

Having witnessed a Silent Soaked twice, I have to say, the “after effect” was palpable in the audience. You could hear a pin drop. You could hear people literally gasping for air, like they hadn’t taken a breath since the acapella started. Then, thunderous applause, people looking at each other, for confirmation, ” Did he REALLY just sing that?” “Did we just witness true artistic greatness, in the midst of obviously great sheer entertainment?” ” Are you as effected as I am by this?” Then, out came the kleenex. Many a wet eye needed to be wiped.

    Yes. I love Soaked.

  35. Kradamour says:

“Did we just witness true artistic greatness, in the midst of obviously great sheer entertainment?”

mils, this is one of the best comments ever posted on this or any blog. IMHO.

  36. milwlovesadam says:

PS. If anybody there hears PUU start to be played, please let us know. I know we’ll be able to hear it from a certain talented and experienced someone, but, GAAAAH. Pick You Up live? THUD. GONE. DONE.

  37. milwlovesadam says:

    Aaww. Thanks kradamour.

And, don’t forget everybody, Soaked is what I talked with Leila about on the fansite. She said that it made her cry every single time she saw him sing it live. So much pride as a mother, in her talented son, and because the performance moved her to tears. Every single time.

I really loved that Leila shared that with me. And, now with all of you.

You don’t have to love Soaked. Everybody has their own taste. But, our boy obviously loved singing and performing it. I have a feeling it will be in his set list for years to come. I actually hope that Muse has another one up their sleeve for Adam.

    Can’t refuse, Cher! Grin

  42. Ron says:

    Kradamour!

Seriously, something sounded familiar when you used the term “sartorial splendor”. I had to think and then I picked up my copy of “On The Meaning of Adam Lambert”. The author, Xena, signed it for me and part of the inscription reads “you’re a picture of sartorial splendor”.

This must be significant and I’d better go look up what it means! Smile

  43. Kradamour says:

That’s great! Did I also mention that as Mistress of Ceremonies Cher expects you to sing and dance a bit? Just For Our Entertainment. Wink

No. Just no. And everyone will be the better for it. Smile

Too funny re the sartorial splendor! Hmmm…wonder if the noun is sartory?

I’ll think on that in my dreams.
    G’nite, peeps!

  44. Ron says:

    Good night, Kradamour.

I honestly wasn’t familiar with that term. I managed to figure out that Xena probably wasn’t insulting me and that it was most likely something good. Smile

I did just look it up. Oops! It’s a very nice compliment and I want to thank you (and Xena) Wink very much.
