Hi everyone!   I realize some of you don’t like the eyes pictures but I think this one is beautiful.  I think of looking ahead to the Festival, new single, next album and tour when I look at this picture.  This month all of us will have a huge treat to look forward to with Adam performing at the St. Agathe en Feux Festival and my good friend Suz526’s videos on 7/29!   Please keep us all updated on the plans of the rather sizeable group of you who will be attending this concert as those of us who can’t make it to Canada will live vicariously through you for this one!

Thursday evening July 7th update: thanks to angelowal, we now have a translated link to FAQs for the Festival!

kradamour…I sent an email to that other Quebec festival…the balloon one . And then they announced the acts and no Adam. But still…who made the first phone call? Adam’s peeps or the Sainte Agathe peeps?

Goatie does have a quite a few things going on this summer. Lots of travel for extended periods. But she still may come to Quebec.

  2. Kradamour says:

luval, I think you sent an email to the Quebec city Festival d’été – that was the initial effort. When it didn’t happen, the effort continued.
    Et voilà! Grin

But still…who made the first phone call? Adam’s peeps or the Sainte Agathe peeps?

I’d love to know! Maybe we will find out once we get our boots on the ground.

  3. riskylady says:

Oh, Mils, where is that end of American tour list? Would love to see it again! So glad you saved them, maybe you could put them all in a file somehow and ewflyer could add the file somehow???? You know, for future reference and research purposes (this is serious stuff).

  4. milwlovesadam says:

Oh man. I’d have to think. That hurts. Owww. Mnmfff. It’s the weekend you know.

I think I have it printed off. I’ll look it up in my Adamphernilia closet. It may have been somewhere between PooPooYaAll’up and Asia/Australia.

  5. JOJOSIE says:

MILS, no one saw it but I gave you a standing “O” for that last list. I envy you going to New York, so make the most of it.

  6. milwlovesadam says:

Awww, Jo. Don’t be jealous. I know it’s New York, but we’ll be shlepping all over having college interviews and tours. It’s like a working visit. In ugly shoes and heat and humidity. But, it’s still NYC. And since I’ll be with a minor, no adult fun. Ha!!! Like I’d be going to clubs !! I’m more of a dinner and a show type. We’re seeing NYU, Columbia, and a couple of other private schools.

I’ve been to NY several times, and have never been to Central Park. I know. I know. How did that happen? It’s because the other times the people I was with, and the time of day, and whatever got in the way. This time, my kid and I want to see the park, experience the park, see the sights.

Jojosie, I honestly was thinking of you today. Good ESP lady!! Have you had any pineapple lately?

  7. nkd says:

Mils, I can’t believe you’re going to NYC next week, Calli and I will be headed there after Ste Agathe on the 30th. I got my show tickets by calling the hotel we are staying at. A bit of a discount but still pricey!
I know someone on here has to have better info on this than me!

And yeah, Canyons website, not poopworthy!

  8. milwlovesadam says:

Too bad nkd. I would have loved to have met you and fangirled a bit! Of course, I would have to have left my eyeball spinner in the room and met you in the hotel bar for a drinkie poo!!

  9. nkd says:

Would have been fun mils! NYC is a big corner to play in!
You should leave something sparkly somewhere that none of the other millions of people will find, so that Calli and I can find it! Our own little scavenger hunt of sorts! Wink

  10. milwlovesadam says:

Oooh. Like a glitter drop/gem at Strawberry Fields? Hmmm. If I do leave a memento somewhere, I’ll post it here, and perhaps somebody will see it.

    Geez. We are such geeks!!

  11. adamized says:

The TCKTS booth is still in Times Square. Here is the web:

    http://www.tdf.org/TDF_ServicePage.aspx?id=56

I heard from a friend that you can also go on line for the same service. Haven’t been able to find that yet but will keep Googling.

There are some theaters that open up their sales booths at 10am and if you are lucky you can grab fairly inexpensive tickets for that day’s matinee performance. Not all of them do it and maybe none of them now. I know this worked a few years ago but have attempted it lately.

    Have a great time!

  12. nkd says:

That’s exactly what I was thinking, a little gem at Strawberry Fields!
Post it here, and then when we’re there we’ll find it, take a picture and I’ll post it! I’m sure no one will touch it for a couple of weeks! Wink
    Yes, we are geeks!

All of this would be done in the presence of the eyerollers, yours and mine! Their eyes may roll back in their heads!

  13. milwlovesadam says:

adamized, thanks. I’ll be at colleges every morning, but, I’ll try online and also hit up my hotel concierge to see what he can do. You are very sweet to help!

  14. adamized says:

Hmmm…I think this is what my friend was talking about. There is an Ap for your Iphone that lets you see in real time what is available at the TKTS booth. This is helpful since there may not be anything you really want to see. Here is the url: http://www.tdf.org/TDF_SupportPage.aspx?id=97

I enjoy off broadway shows and they are a good deal cheaper. Let me see if I can get any good leads in that regard.

  15. milwlovesadam says:

That’s great, now if only I had an Iphone….

  16. milwlovesadam says:

We have all talked a lot over the last few years about how being a fan of Adam’s has made us learn new technologies, get more “current.”. I know I have, but I still don’t do IPhone or Ipod. I just don’t see what I would need them for.

Anywho, I am often reminded of ( and since we took a little journey to I Love Lucy the other day ) an episode of Dick Van Dyke where these very stuffy people were awarding Robert Petrie for something literary, kept confusing him with Petroff, and this old bag said in a very snooty and haughty tone ” Well, I don’t OWN a television machine.”

    That.

  17. adamized says:

Looks like it would work on a Droid as well…. I couldn’t use this Ap either since I have an antique Razor cell phone that was pretty cool about 8 years ago. LOL

  18. Kradamour says:

mils, the paper today had an article about an off-broadway show called “Silence” which is a musical version of The Silence of the Lambs. Supposedly excellent. It is a Hannibal Lecter thing. I never saw or read SoL but I think it is gory – but apparently the musical is strangely excellent. Just a thought.

I was a department store buyer many years ago and loved my monthly trips to NYC to the garment district. Usually caught a show, saw some great stuff!

  19. milwlovesadam says:

LOL adamized. My phone is so old it has cobwebs on it. I only use it for texting my kids and phone calls. It’s a basic AT&T, I bought it in the “Hey Granny” section. You know for folks wearing bifocals with clumsy fingers too insensitive for little letters on keyboards so small you can’t see what you are doing…

  20. milwlovesadam says:

Kradam, that’s a great lead, thanks. My kid just really wants to see Lion King. I’m kicking myself for not ponying up to see the Broadway touring company when it was here a few years ago. I’ve also seen some great shows in NY. Classics like Cats, Chorus Line, You Can’t Take it with you, and more. We saw Seussical The Musical in 2001 with the kids,my last trip there. That was surprisingly good and fun. I’d love to see Chicago, but, my son says that since I watch the movie “all the time”, we don’t need to see the show.

Kradam, waaaaay off topic, but, my father was a department store buyer in the 60’s, for Gimbel’s, in the linens dept. I grew up with “samples.” We had all kinds of gorgeous towels and sheets, just one of a kinds, no matching sets. I’m sure you have stories too.

  21. Ceddies says:

We have all talked a lot over the last few years about how being a fan of Adam’s has made us learn new technologies, get more “current.”.

And on that note, I have a question if anyone can tell me please. I have been using Realplayer to download Adam videos over the past year or more. A couple of weeks ago, Firefox automatically upgraded; and since that time, I find that I’m having one problem after another.

Now, the problem is this. I can still play my Adam videos on Realplayer. But, now, when I pull up a video and want to download it, the little blue box that usually pops up does not pop up anymore. The one that says “Download this Video”. Do any of you know what I’m talking about? If so, does the little blue box pop up when you pull up a video??? Is the little blue box a part of Realplayer or part of YouTube??? Can anyone advise me because I don’t know where to go to start tracking my problem. Maybe Youtube changed things up as they do occasionally. In which case; if it is no longer available, I will stop looking.

  22. milwlovesadam says:

G’night all. Working tomorrow again. Time off in NYC this week.

  23. Kradamour says:

Ceddies, the little blue box is RealPlayer.
If you use Firefox, though, I recommend that you install the DownloadHelper extension. It is free and I think it is a lot better. Also I have been able to download some things using it that RealPlayer said could not be downloaded. Give it a try!

  24. Kradamour says:

    Mils, g’nite!
I was a buyer for Hochschild Kohn in Baltimore in the early 80’s, my very favorite job of all time. We had ten stores. Each city had its own flagship department store – Marshall Field and Carson Pirie Scott in Chicago, Higbees and May Co in Cleveland, Washington DC had Hecht’s and Woodward and Lothrop, New Orleans had Maison Blanche, etc. etc. Baltimore had HK, Hutzler’s, and Stewart’s. Even small cities had a department store to call its own: Richmond had Thalhimer’s and Miller and Rhoads. Back then every department store had its own identity, and a wonderful tearoom…now they have all been bought by Macy’s and they all look alike and the tearooms are all gone. Bah. Really the end of an era. Sometimes I miss it dreadfully. The old department stores don’t make financial sense now, but they were amazing.

  26. Ceddies says:

Thanks Kradamour. Where do I find the Download Helper? In Firefox?

  27. Kradamour says:

Another article from Gather. You probably all knew about Adam’s literary tweet already, but just in case you don’t:
    http://celebs.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979595323

  28. Kradamour says:

ceddies, go to tools, then addons, then search for download helper. Takes just a second to install it.

  29. Kradamour says:

About 600 posts in 9 days. We could easily hit 2000 this month – well, maybe not because Ste Agathe will have its own thread. We’re a chatty bunch! Smile

  30. Kradamour says:

Too many fleur de lys in a row.
Time to stop posthoeing and go to bed – g’nite all!
    Sweet Adam dreams!

  31. Ceddies says:

Thanks again, Kradamour. Gonna go try this and then on to bed. Later, guys!

  32. adamized says:

Good Morning friends. Here is a lovely NEW BB picture for you to start your day off right…. He looks like he is getting more and more of a dancer’s body each time he is photographed.

    http://lockerz.com/s/118757857

I loved the department store tea rooms. Each one seemed to have a signature dish that you just had to have. I grew up in a small town so I had to travel to either Pittsburgh or Cleveland to have the true department store experience. By the time I moved to Baltimore Hutzler’s was gone and we are still mourning the loss of Hecht’s.

  33. nkd says:

What a great picture adamized! He looks great! He’s wearing that dang mystery pouch pendant again! Need to find out the significance of that thing!

  34. adamized says:

Hi nkd Some folks on twitter speculated that he only wore it when Sauli wasn’t around. I don’t know if that is true or not. Some of course are speculating that it is a significant token of affection between the two of them. I have to admit that I don’t remember seeing it before Sauli was in the picture.Hmmmm….

  35. nkd says:

adamized, I don’t remember seeing it before Sauli either, but I’m sure he’s been shopping since November!!!!
He was wearing it at Twist, and Sauli was there, so the only wearing it when Sauli isn’t around doesn’t fit.
We need some Adam news, so we don’t dwell on these little things!!! Haha!

  36. luval says:

Maybe one of the moms (or dads) will have a video of True Colors with the kids and post on youtube!!!!

OT but Bruno Mars is playing at a free concert at my State Fair this summer. I’m not interested, even for free. Smile

  37. Kradamour says:

adamized, I was able to tear my eyes away from gorgeous Adam in the pic long enough to notice the random woman in the background looking away and being oblivious. How could that be? (shakes head in confusion) Grin

Hutzlers was wonderful. I worked one summer in the alterations department. Yes, department. We were five full time seamstresses and a tailor who altered clothing purchased at the store. And this was a smaller suburban store (Southdale, adamized), not the downtown flagship!. I worked with a Russian emigre from a noble family who was one of the saddest and most interesting people I have ever known, along with a British war bride (WWII) and a woman from the hills of Tennessee with an accent that I could barely understand. The Hutzler family stayed very hands-on, and when Mr. Hutzler came into the building it was like royalty came to visit! He came into the alterations room once and spent quite a bit of time with us, and asked me to show him how to stitch a hem on knit fabric, which is what I was doing at the time. He learned quickly, he seemed to genuinely enjoy fabric and clothing. Not surprising when your family has been in the dry goods business for several generations.

Hmmm…how to make this less OT…Adam enjoys shopping! LOL

  38. luval says:

haha kradamour…we could probably connect Adam with EVERYTHING! So no problem with being OT. Smile

So I guess Adam did not perform with that school group.

    Good Morning, Kradamour!

Why have you kept this hidden talent … hidden? I am SO happy to know this about you!!

Kindly stitch together an exact copy of Adam’s Zebra Pants for me. Money is no object unless you expect to be paid! Smile I’m confident you’ll put RL way back on the back burner and make this your sole priority. Smile You have 17 days so … at your leisure. Smile

    Waist: 34
    Inseam: 32
Crotch: I’ll leave that up to your imagination expertise. Wink

Please bring them with you to Ste.-Agathe. If there are any minor adjustments to be made, we can have a private fitting at your place or mine. Grin

  40. Kradamour says:

Désolée, Ron! There are actually laws that prevent seamstresses from doing alterations/sewing for male customers that include…um…fittings…below the waist. (Or at least there were back in 1972.)
Actually I am stitching something for another of our happy Ste Agathe band, so you would have to be second in line and the line is a little short with only 17 days to go (WTF? how did that time fly??? where is my needle gotta get back to work!).

  41. nkd says:

kradamour, is there anything you haven’t done? I’m impressed! You didn’t mention this when we were discussing sewing.

Ron in the zebra pants! Hmmm?!!!
You know, I love those zebra pants, on Adam!

Ron in the zebra pants! Hmmm?!!!
You know, I love those zebra pants, on Adam!

Just what exactly are you trying to imply, nkd?!?? Wink That I can’t pull-off wearing Adam’s Zebra Pants?!?? WELL!

I’ll have you know that with the proper padding stitching here, a little nip and tuck there and when it’s completely pitch black outside, I think I’d look fabulous in those pants!

    So there! LOL

  43. nkd says:

Ummm…I have to go to work!
Let me think about that Ron and get back to you! Smile

  44. Ron says:

Work? I don’t know how you’re going to get any work done when you’re going to be thinking about me all day! LOL LOL

It’ll be difficult but try to give it your best shot. Grin

  45. nkd says:

IKR! You, and the zebra pants! How will I work?!!! Wink

It’ll be our little secret. Wink

  47. Ron says:

Are you on your lunch break already, nkd?!?? You just left!

    Get back to work. Smile

  48. Kradamour says:

I’m old, nekkid. I’ve had plenty of time to do a lot of things. Most of them I can talk about! LOL

  49. Ceddies says:

I have a couple of travel questions since I’ve never been out of the US. (1) Should there be any problems with electrical/gadget matchups—like cell phone chargers, hair dryers, etc. (2) I guess any medications should remain in their individual bottles??? I like to put mine in a little pill carrier but that might not be such a good idea for a trip. Anybody, just jump in if you have any ideas. Thanks.

  50. jlurksacto says:

Should there be any problems with electrical/gadget

Looks like electrical is same as US (US is same as Canada)
Glad you asked. I hadn’t even thought of it.
