asif I am feeling pretty useless and helpless and obviously sleepless.
I am afraid to look closely at that pic. Anyone who wants to see can request a look via email. The airport metal detectors are gonna go nuts.
Can no longer do the simplest things for myself right now without help. Can u spell frustrated?
Healthwise, I really feel literally no pain. Maybe a twinge or two but not painful. When I use the crutches then I feel a stiffness on the right lower leg and a strong twinge on the foot itself. A Glambert pal who posts here sometimes sent me 3 kinds of vegetarian based natural therapy capsules for bone and tissue renewal and general wellness and more and I’ve been taking them since Thursday. Only taking 2 prescription Motrin per day mainly for the swelling. I feel pretty good overall. Appetite is good of course. I guess the pain is awaiting me when I start Physical Therapy but that’ll be a while yet. I sent Mils the post surgery xray pic of the implanted metal contraption holding my foot together and she thinks it’s scary looking. Boy, when I mess something up I really do it well.
eta I think I’ve developed a morbid side in these past few days.
Those QAL concerts will be about 130am EST right? Guess it’s good to have insomnia in that case. Hope for more livestreams.
Need some thoughts on this: My two friends and I that were heading to Milan before footgate never told anyone else til now..not that we were hiding it but it just never came up before. Just easier to say Italy. Anyway we had a little side trip planned to France. Not Paris, but Nice, Monaco and Cannes by airplane/train/rental car from Milan and back thru Florence. Even though they are far from Paris all airports and train stations in France have been on high alert/high security the past few days and for the foreseeable future because of that craziness. Kinda feel quite a bit of relief not to be headed that way anymore. Am I justified in thinking this or is it just frustration taking over? Feel free to ignore me.
Frankly all airports and train stations in the world should be on high alert in these insane times, not just in France. But cher, sweetie, you think anything you want in order to get over the frustration that you feel, and to help you cope while you are cooped up at home. Right now, your house is probably the safest place to be! But we can’t let them win by changing our world and kowtowing to them. The people who are letting them flourish are those who aren’t standing up to them and are afraid of “hurting their feelings”, and thus curbing the freedom of everyone else, especially Western culture. OK, rant over. (By the way, I just heard that lots of Moslems are refusing to go to the rally in Paris in memory of the terror victims because Netanyahu is going to be there. Honestly?)

Thanks for the update, cher. Good to hear that you’re not feeling any pain… Physical pain, that is, because I can certainly hear your mental and emotional frustration. It’s good that the Q+AL tour is starting in just a couple of days, then Adam judging on Idol, then more tour vids – that should all keep you occupied for at least a little while!

Don’t really know what this means.. but I have to admit that my whole incident with my ankle made me rethink my life and my priorities.

Since your movements are so limited, now cher – would you be interested in trying meditation (so many articles on it now – called mindfulness, too) – thinking of trying it myself as it says it improves brain function (I could use some of that – especially the quick recall part which seems to dissipate a bit as one advances beyond “29”).

Thanks luval!!! 130pm is awesome! Home alone then. Was worried about getting into the living room to not wake hubby. I am not good on crutches. Almost killed myself a couple times. Wrists hurt now from my lifesaving grabs.

Hi axxxel! I got literally no advice from them post surgery. The surgeon’s office hasn’t even called to check on me. They said “keep your foot on two pillows and the doc will see u monday morning. Here are your prescriptions.” Mils and another nurse friend have been invaluable. Really appreciate any advice I get. Thanks Calgary.
