2013 will apparently begin with a rather quiet month for Adam, as he has only one performance currently scheduled. This will be a Hennessy Artistry event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on January 4. After that, Adam’s next scheduled event is the kickoff of his international “non-tour” in Seoul, South Korea on February 17. There is no official word as yet on whether some North American dates will eventually be added to the non-tour in the spring, but recent comments from Adam have not been very optimistic.

Above we see Adam performing at his final concert of 2012, at the Mulia Resort in Bali, Indonesia. Happy New Year and enjoy the chat!

    Shoshanna just tweeted that she has left Outside Edge and joined (or created) Edge Publicity. Sounds like “Edge” broke off from Outside. And she took Adam with her to Edge.

    The rumours of Adam and Cyndi Lauper dueting are now getting posted all over the place. I’m not sure whether to believe this particular rumour or not, since it’s just some unnamed source who supposedly heard Adam and Cyndi talking after the Dec. show. We’ll see!

    Kradamour – I’m not sure what Shoshanna’s new situation is exactly. It’s either just internal reorganization/re-branding, or Outside Edge split apart into “Outside” and “Edge” and she went with Edge. In any case, she’s still representing Adam, so it probably won’t seem much different to us, except that we’ll hear stuff from Edge Publicity instead of Outside Edge.

    I am so excited about Adam, Nile, and Sam Sparro being onstage together at the We Are Family Foundation gala. That is so awesome! We’ve been longing for this moment! And we should get good video, given the peeps who have said they are going. Anyone from here going? I’m so jealous. I would LOVE to experience that live.

    Lots of people on twitter have been asking Nile for a pay-per-view livestream so that we have professional video and can support the foundation even if we can’t go. No response from Nile on that yet, though.

    Outside is all entertainment promotions – a 40-year-old company. Outside Edge was strictly music entertainers, so I guess the Edge part has split off and taken the music part, leaving outside with all the rest of the entertainment biz. I imagine that’s why Adam has gone with Shoshanna.

    I’m just a little bit concerned about Adam’s two Russia concerts. They seem to be cracking down more and more on gays, and these laws are so vague and ambiguous they could be applied too widely. And he is such an attention-getter, it worries me.

    I can understand your concern riskylady, and there could very well be some protests against Adam before his concert, like those of the WBC. I can’t imagine that there would be any official action taken against Adam, the international public outcry against Russia would be too great, especially in the light of Obama’s words yesterday. It seems that Adam can look at this in two ways. He could decide to boycott Russia in protest of Russia’s anti-Gay policies and cancel his concerts there, but that doesn’t seem to be his way of doing things. Or he could want to perform there and show them that Gays aren’t anything to be threatened by. Of course, that might be what the authorities are afraid of. I would just hope that the organizers of the concerts will be aware enough of the situation to protect Adam and if there is a threat, not to let him perform. Of course, where money is concerned, you never know…

    Hello Everyone,
    Now that we’re having a quiet moment, I am going to express some of the thoughts that I’ve had over the last few weeks all at one time. You guys type so fast and with such knowledge that the topic has passed before I can form a coherent sentence. So here goes:

    Yea!! I finally figured out how to get a gravatar. It only took me a year and a half.

    Le Miz- Good movie that could have been great. I think I was more disappointed with Hugh Jackman. He has a Singing in the Rain type voice not a Bring Him Home type. Do find myself humming On My Own though so Samantha Barks made an impression.

    Touring- I think it’s great that Adam has these international concerts and is being introduced globally. He could remain in the US and play to 3-5000 people and be ridiculed for not living up to his reputation just because he’s Adam. It doesn’t matter that Kris isn’t selling out venues of less than 500 or that the largest venue for Scotty that I found is 2800. I’m thinking that if he does any one offs this summer they may be bigger because we haven’t had a real tour here and people are itching to see that hunk of a man.

    Moving- For right now, I think Adam will stay here just because he’s looking to diversify. LA has TV, movie, and music opportunities which I’m sure he would like to capitalize on if the right thing were offered. I also think he needs to be surrounded by his tribe. His group of friends and family seem very close and I think he would feel somewhat alone without them.

    So those are just some thoughts I’ve had lately and maybe next time I can manage to comment more on topic. Thanks for listening.

    interesting…Boys II Men, NKOTB & 98 Degrees were on The View this morning announcing a tour in May. I’d say that’s the reason Virgin Radio is playing them. I swear it’s 2013 payola. Maybe Virgin is backing the tour somehow. An odd coincidence. Yeah, right.

    All good thoughts on the Russia concerts. But the boy can’t seem to keep his mouth shut so I think it would be safer to cancel the concerts. Could he go and perform and be a role model and wait til he gets home to start ranting on twitter? I don’t know. It would be wonderful if he did go – looks like Pavel Samburov could use some support.I’m guessing we’ll hear from him on twitter on this issue soon.

    Luckily or sadly, depending on how you look at it, Adam is aware of the challenges to the LGBTQ community in Russia. His first concert there was the same weekend as an LGBTQ demonstration, which Dan Choi live-blogged and filmed.

    Thanks to support from outside the country, there will always be resistance to rolling the clock back. Time is on the side of justice.

    Calgary , I agree that it would be safer if Adam cancelled his Russian concerts (I was scared sh**less for him when he went to Malaysia forthe GNT show), but I don’t believe he will. He is too idealistic and loves his Russian Glamberts so much that he would never disappoint them like that. And, yes, TLKC, I remember that incident in Moscow the last time he was there. The Russian government has a way of seeing things through special glasses that allow them to see just what they want and to explain it as they see fit. They will probably say that as long as Adam doesn’t kiss any boys on stage or make any statements about gay rights from the stage, they will deny knowing that he is gay

    aely, can you say “BS, cop out?” “Market testing,” my ass. THEY make the songs of their choice hits by playing them to death, til everyone is sick of them and then some. If I hear that Gotye song again, I will shoot myself, same as Adele, et al. Every 15 mins to half hour. Really? Sorry, I am very cynical and skeptical about US radio. Perfectly good songs get played in other countries, along with all of the ones they play here. Doesn’t compute. Financially, they are in trouble – you’d think they would think out of the box.

    I’m so ignorant, so let me ask the question: how Virgin Radio did #markettesting ?? Did they play any of Adam songs and there was no response?? Or did they play it to some decision making honchos and they didn’t like it? How can you say that general public doesn’t like a song if it is not being played???
    I’m really confused.
    Some really mediocre songs by popular artist are being played every 15 minutes and I wonder if they were “market tested”

    I agree with you all, I love Trespassing and think it is much more intelligent and thought-provoking than most of the junk that is played. But, taking out the love we all share for Adam – something happened, maybe money, maybe market research, maybe both but something because they still play WWFM all the time. I was just trying to figure it out. I will stop it now.

    Don’t stop aely. I don’t think anything negative was directed at you. We all are frustrated at the lack of airplay for Trespassing. I still say it was wrong single choices.
    I have a feeling Cuckoo, Naked Love, Shady or some others may have resulted in a different outcome.

    Riskylady, sorry, I have to disagree with you re Gotye song, I really like it and it was a big hit all over the world before US radio decided to play it to death. And I loved Adele’s Song, until it went into play overkill.
    As of now I can’t open TV without hearing P2 “Home” somewhere.
    I’m curious if a casual listener associates this song with Philip. Only time will tell how he’s gonna do in the future. As Adam once said what he wants is a longevity.

    Some call it markettesting. I’d call it not doing your job. Easy-listening and safe. But we have discussed this before… Thanks for posting it though aely, always good to know how radio chooses to defend their choices.
