Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2013 is a wonderful year for all of you, filled with love, joy, health, success, and great music! And I wish the same for Adam and Sauli as well.
Sorry for my absence from here at ALL for the past while. It’s been a difficult holiday season for my family. My father, mother, mother-in-law, and two nephews are all facing significant, demanding health challenges, and it’s a LOT to handle simultaneously. To top it off, my father required hospitalization yesterday (on NYE), in the middle of the holidays with the entire family here together for a visit. I think he’ll be ok and will be able to come home in a couple of days, but what a way to ring in the new year.
With everything going on with family, and the fact that my internet access has been spotty at best while at my parent’s house, it’s been difficult to keep up with Adam happenings for the past couple of weeks, but I’ve been able to track the basics at least.
Hopefully things with family will settle down soon. My berting and posting habits may need to change a bit, though, from here forward. But this is related to good news on the job front. Remember that big promotion at work that I went for and didn’t get back in September? Well, after 2.5 months of dithering around after he got the job offer, the other guy finally declined (jerk). So my colleagues met, came to their senses, and offered me the job. I accepted, and start in the new position as of today!
So between new heavy demands at work and dealing with my aging parents’ and mother-in-law’s health issues, imma be a busy girl in real life. Kinda crazy, actually. I’ll still do my best to keep up with Adam and share goodies here that I find, but I may not be able to bring as many goodies here as I have in the past. Sorry! I still love you all (and Adam!) and will still try to check in as much as I can!
Loved that Trespassing vid with all of Adam’s looks of this past year. Not a bad look in the bunch. Don’t throw tomatoes, but I really loved the blond/silver fox.
I saw reference to this tweet a few days ago, and it looked like many of you thought it was real. Not to be a killjoy, but nkd is right — this tweet was meant to be a joke.
I follow _izla_zandzz on twitter and she is delightfully witty and wacky. She often posts “Examine Him” “headlines” when Adam is in the news for goofy things, as a take-off on the “Examiner” articles, in which even the smallest details about Adam can get written up into articles.
So, as much as we would like to believe that Hugh Jackman actually had that gracious and amusing response to Adam’s Les Mis tweets, alas it is just the product of _izla_zandzz wacky and wonderful imagination.

Oh cwm, I just saw your post after I posted mine! I have missed you and have been wondering how you are. Of course I knew that important “stuff” must be going on to keep you away. You are one person who I know has her priorities right. I hope that the family health issues are getting resolved in a positive way. It must have been hard for your father to have gotten ill on NYE but how good for him that he was surrounded by his family, and I am sure that your mother was thankful to have you all around for support.
I have been meaning to ask you (privately) about that other professional opportunity you told me about, but how great that you got the job that you wanted! If anyone can juggle professional and Berting responsibilities you can. So proud of you.

Love what Russell Crowe said. Adam gave him a chance to be particularly magnanimous, which is such a change from his regular persona that it will probably do him some public relations good in the long run.
On a personal note: this Saturday, I am going to a tea party of 7 people, one of whom loves Russell Crowe so much she got a facelift before he started filming Cinderella Man in the building where we worked. (It stood in for Madison Square Gardens.) She cannot stand Adam so it will be a bit stressful no doubt. Glad that 2 of the other 6 are my sisters.
Love that Trespassing video that was posted, the editing is amazing. I hope someone sends it to Adam….he can use it as his official Tp vid.
And those airport videos, especially the 2nd one where they are all chanting Adam, Adam, wow…..had a little chuckle though how the rest of the band were kind of ignored and couldn’t get through to the bus.

Sorry to hear of all the health problems in the family though.
HK concert tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am, I was going to drive to the shop to buy them (30 min drive) but my car broke down yet again today and is back in the garage. I will try on line, but I don’t seem to have any luck booking things on line over hear with my credit card, even cinema tickets is a no go.

Wow, cwm – so very happy about your new job – my clan have had a couple of setbacks that eventually turned out well – know how happy that made them – so you must be thrilled – and I know everyone here is, too.
And about that batch of illnesses – boy, do they ever come in bunches. My daughter’s mother-in-law (who will be 100 in a few weeks) is in the hospital with pneumonia and doesn’t look good – but 100, damn, her brain up until recently was still so sharp – could also drive her son (one child) crazy. Real character – Boston Irish.
Well, cwm…. It took them a while, but they finally got it right! Congrats!!
This is just the beginning, but I’m hoping that 2013 will continue to bring good things your way and that things will settle down and become better for your family.

Yay! cwm! So glad you got the job! Sorry about the flood of health challenges for your family – hope your nephews will be okay. It’s tough as the parents age. I went through many years of challenges with my dad.
LadyNorth, I couldn’t find that Brian May tweet about Adam’s LesMiz comments. I searched on his twitter but it didn’t seem to be there. How did you find it? I am not very good with twitter, and no young to teach me, my kids don’t use it.
That tweet from Brian was from Adam’s political rant. I looked it up and it is from 58 days ago.

The easiet way is to search for the other person in the tweet. So I put in @anrefg and it pulls up their tweets by date so they retweeted it today and it shows when the original tweet was sent by Brian. It will show you the conversation. Does that make sense?
And, yes, ladynorth it is very appropriate!

OMG you all are the best! Thank you all so much for your sweet and thoughtful well wishes regarding both my new job situation and family health problems. With my mother in law at 92, my dad at 91, and my mom at 85, all of them ailing, and my two teen nephews with chronic and stubborn health problems, it will continue to be a rough row to hoe. But family love is strong and we keep moving forward. My new position at work will be an interesting and exciting challenge. Thanks again for your love and caring!

Ron, I was so moved by the long list of artists who passed away in 2012, it seemed to be so many when I read the list in the paper. People I grew up seeing and hearing…it is really getting to be the end of an era.

Yes, we’ve been through some real challenges with my MIL for the past couple of months, just when she was doing so well.
We also lost our sweet 14 yr old doggie Thanksgiving weekend. The house is so empty without him.

We all have our issues to deal with, and our up and down times. Thankfully we follow a guy who is never boring to give us somewhere to take our minds when times are tough.
