2013 will apparently begin with a rather quiet month for Adam, as he has only one performance currently scheduled. This will be a Hennessy Artistry event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on January 4. After that, Adam’s next scheduled event is the kickoff of his international “non-tour” in Seoul, South Korea on February 17. There is no official word as yet on whether some North American dates will eventually be added to the non-tour in the spring, but recent comments from Adam have not been very optimistic.

Above we see Adam performing at his final concert of 2012, at the Mulia Resort in Bali, Indonesia. Happy New Year and enjoy the chat!

Geez, massive protest in Paris today against same-sex marriage. I really thought Paris was more tolerant than that. Shows I don’t know much of what’s going on in the world.

  2. Calgary says:

Ron I’m sorry you have felt so down. I love your light and fresh sense of humour, and your thoughtfulness. You are a ray of sunshine on this forum. Please, non illegitimi carborundum! I hope today has dawned a brighter day. Sun Sun Heart Heart

  3. Kradamour says:

luval, the French are an interesting and complicated people. Marriage of any sort is an ambiguous subject, tied to equally ambiguous feelings about religion, dating back to the revolution and before…many middle class people live together for decades and never marry; the most prominent probably being Segolene Royal, runner-up presidential candidate two elections ago. This may be part of the issue here: if hetero couples don’t see any need to marry, what is it with the gays?
The French tend to be very tolerant of anything that is not out in the open, very live and let live. Less so of things placed squarely in front of them.
This is a generalization, of course, I don’t presume to speak for an entire nation.

  4. Kradamour says:

Ron, chéri, I’m on the way out the door and already late – alas I don’t have the time to watch your video – but whatever it is about, whatever you are feeling that is not as it should be…just know that I am on Team Ron.

For Your Entertainment during this quiet time in BB’s life:
I won a bag of books as a door prize at a fundraiser a couple of nights ago and one was the record of the congressional hearing into the Live Nation/Ticketmaster merger. Not exactly fun reading but I took a look at it, recalling the challenge I had to get tix to see my one and only GNT concert. Dry stuff but it led me to Google and this interesting article about the entertainment business – http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/25/business/25ticket.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

    Maybe a little “label” clarification?

@shoshannastone which label will the 3rd album b under? logical conclusion is RCA but speculation is rampant & it’d b good to end it

    shoshanna stoneþ@shoshannastone

  8. adamized says:

rs your thinking the vid was from expats makes perfect sense especially because they also identified themselves as Persians. Was wondering about their dress and how they had the freedom to post youtubes. Dah!

  9. jlurksacto says:

  10. luval says:

Still tons of comments over there about Adam. Getting close to 400. No 360 deal?

    shoshanna stoneþ@shoshannastone
@namelessaddict RCA Adam and his team announce almost everything on Twitter — Queenbert, album release dates, etc.**It is not a 360 deal because he is still with DMG + many others.**

  11. TLKC says:

There are a lot of misapprehensions about the French, luval, especially as regards the view of them as more enlightened or forward thinkers.

A few years ago, I saw two films about UK and French young people in the 60’s: Les Amants Reguliers and Stoned. They suggested a totally different way of looking at both cultures. If you look at English and French youth chose to spend their time in the 60’s, you have to throw a lot of stereotypes out the window. The French are far more repressed that the British, far more formal and far less accepting of change.

They have a hilarious soap opera going on right now right now with the President, his wife and his mistress, which could only happen in a country that is so tied to traditional views of gender that it can’t move forward without a whole lot of silliness.

A country that is still negotiating the hetero sex wars is bound to be squeamish about same-sex progress.

  12. glambotgram says:

Speaking of shoshanna, did anyone see her tweet out a Perez article the other day about her girl group. I wonder if she sees all the crap he puts out about Adam?

  13. TLKC says:

That’s interesting Kradamour. Quebec is the same as France when it comes to legal marriages, but living “outside the law” or unconventionally has made them much more laissez-faire about same-sex marriage.

In polls, they have always been more supportive of same-sex marriage than the other provinces. Their acceptance was at 60% when the laws were changed (2006).

  15. ultimathule says:

Don’t know you in real life, Ron, but, from your postings here, feel that, to some extent, I do anyhow. Just want to express my gratitude that you are here and hope you continue to express what you feel – always interested.

  16. jlurksacto says:

    Iran was Persia, jlurk

That’s kinda my point. Why not take something at face value? Assumptions can
be made, but no one knows (except them) about what they can or can’t do.

  17. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, gorgeous Ron, I had noticed that we hadn’t seen you for a while. Your video was hauntingly beautiful, and sung like nobody else. Your voice was in top form, I’m just so sad that your heart is so broken.

You have an enormous talent to be able to sing like that a capella. Please feel my hug that I am sending you, and hoping you are feeling somewhat better today, knowing that so many here care about you so much.

  18. luval says:

Was just in my car listening to the radio and heard Daughtry. If Adam might be going the rock route, wonder if it’s going to be in that vein or Nickleback (similar to Daughtry). Big power ballads with lots of guitars & drums. In other words…noisy! In a good way or bad way depending how you think about this stuff.

  19. milwlovesadam says:

The newest posts over there are saying that the contract may or may not be a 360 and that he is with RCA until 2016.

All I really care about is that he will continue to perform and record and entertain us until I’m too old to care or know it.

And, as Krads said, his earnings were estimated to be 6 million or more, so, he’s fine. For a long long time.

I just don’t think it has anything to do with an expensive bottle of champagne!! I personally would like to believe that it was a housewarming gift from his new neighbor!

    {{{ As for me, I give the old fashioned, and kind of superstitious, housewarming gift of a bottle of red wine, salt, a broom, a loaf of fresh bread, and a baggie with 18 cents for good luck ( chai, which is the number 18, sometimes I double it for 36 ) It’s a L’Chaim! }}}

  20. luval says:

haha mils…for a housewarming gift I usually give a garbage can filled with a shovel, rake, broom, swifter & anything else a person may need for their new home. Obviously not for someone in a high rise! Grin

Ron … I MISS YOU!!! I missed your quick wit, snarky and funny posts. You’re so special to us. You’re my role model who is very brave and honest.

You’re the first person who had your real photo for your avi and you have shared your gorgeous photos and videos of your beautiful vocals with us to enjoy.

I haven’t met you but from the forum here you are like my brother. I remember most of the things you’ve shared with us.
Our anniversary is the same day … July 10th, … Right?

Your song makes me sad because I can feel your pain.
I don’t think anybody could hurt Ron .. the kind, honest, funny, and beautiful inside and outside like you.

Ron, I know that you are loved and respected by everybody here.

I’m hurt and down myself, but from my RL. I’ve lost my sense of humour, my bright and sunny side of life lately.

This community is my sanctuary. I love everybody here even though I’ve never met any of you.

So, please … Ron … don’t stop posting.
Be with me, my brother … and help me pulling myself out from the depression.

And tell me .. who has hurt you … because I’ll scratch their eyes out.

    Don’t mess with my Ron!!!

    And I like this excerpt:

Adam Lambert – Defying All Expectations
… His time on American Idol was the perfect stage for his talent to shine, as his exuberant personality and performance style was a breath of fresh air for a show that was crying out for something new. Even though he didn’t win the show, coming in second to Kris Allen, Adam Lambert was arguably the star of the competition.

…The success of Trespassing and his legions of fans go to show that Lambert might just be the best role model for anyone else coming up through the world of reality talent shows.

Q3 thinks Trespassing sold 300,000 worldwide.

My intended point: If Adam sold 173,639 in the US at retail, then he sold a lot more than 180K worldwide. And none of us know how much he sold in total.

Trespassing charted on the album charts in over 30 countries, include the overall European chart.

Based on what we know about FYE sales — my GUESS is that about 50% of that albums sales were international and sales of Trespassing are > 300,000.

With Adam, there is no way to ignore his international presence and sales.

LadyNorth…Q3 posts on mj’s quite often (this time on the Adam leaving 19 thread), but she is the founder of adamtopia.com. A nice site. She’s very informative & intelligent about all things Adam.

eta: I see her site listed here on the blogroll up top & on the right. And no one that I know of knows the sales number. It’s just her thought.

  34. adamized says:

LadyNorth take a nice long nap. That seems to always help when you are feeling like crap. Sleeping is probably the only perk I can think of about being sick. That and missing work.

Adam was named the sexiest man in music for 2012 according to Billboard. Got 26% of the vote. I really wish that these contests actually made some type of difference. Hope at the very least it gives Adam some pleasure.

  35. Ron says:

I’m not going to point any fingers but I do want to pass along this bit of savvy and sage advice:

Do not have a few beers on a Saturday night and post a YouTube video of yourself singing at 5 o’clock in the morning!

    Smile

On the surface, you would think that going to a gay bar (if you’re gay, that is) would be a kind of safe haven. A place to go to where one feels free to be themselves without fear of being judged or experiencing prejudice or dealing with all of the adversities that can be and are thrown at gay people in the real world. Once you go through and shut that door behind you, the “enemy” is outside. Inside, we’re just one big happy “family”.

That’s not true though and far from it. Below the surface, if anything, the judgements, the name calling, the eye-rolling whispers and disdain are much worse.

I’ve been around the bar scene for over 20 years and during this time I’ve developed close friendships, casual friendships and those who are best described as acquaintances. People appeared to be happy to see me and treated me with genuine warmth and kindness and caring. The very same qualities that I project onto others and are parts of my personality.

    But that’s all gone.

I’m sorry but I really don’t feel like getting into this right now. It’s rather long and involved. Later. I will say though that there is an Adam Lambert tie-in and it was something that ellessay’s sister expressed about her feelings towards Adam.

I do want to say though how much I appreciate your tolerating me (most of you, anyway Wink ) and for your thoughtful and kind words of support. Heart

  36. LadyNorth says:

Thanks luval, I know adamtopia, have visited there sometimes. But compared to this site it’s kind of chaotic Shock I mean people’s comments are organized so that it’s difficult to find the beef.

adamized, no nap, it’s night sleep time soon here Smile I wish I could sleep more when I am sick, usually I just lay down in dark with eyes closed but can’t fall asleep. Better today than yesterday, because I was able to read.

    Bye!

  37. turquoisewaters says:

    Ron:

Below the surface, if anything, the judgements, the name calling, the eye-rolling whispers and disdain are much worse.

Not at all surprised. First off, straight folks are not exactly one big happy family either. True, the gay community is smaller and therefore might be tighter knit. But believe its members are also under more societal stress which often makes people more likely to lash out or be mean. We know Adam has met with a lot of gay hate and ridicule, and I bet it hurts him even more as the insults that come from the conservative straight people. It is really very difficult territory. Clearly just because all gay people are “in it together” does not mean they are able to stick together and support each other. For that, people just bring too many individual differences, too much hurt, too much emotional baggage to the table. (Generalizing and guessing here.) The expression “gay community” is hard to live up to.

  38. turquoisewaters says:

asif: Sounds like you are going through a very rough phase. I’m sorry to hear that. Sometimes its just a matter of hanging in there until things look up. Stay strong, sister!

This site seems to have been under some stress lately, and by this site I mean it’s members. I think a lot of us have had some outside issues affecting our posting attitudes. All of the Adam career angst has only fueled these feelings, at least for me.

RON, we dont talk much personally on here, but I read all your posts and love them, your funny, and bring your ideas about Adam to the table, which is very interesting. I think we all appreciate you getting what ever happened to upset you off your chest here, as you see everyone here supports you. My only advice as far as I can figure out is to stay out of gay bars for now, ROTFL if things have changed there, so be it, and maybe they will change again.
What is your take on this latest Adam being dropped, I would like to read it.
Sometimes we get upset in RL, and we bring parts of it here, I know I did a while back, and gosh everyone here is so supporting. You know everyone here supports you here, its good to get it off your chest. Thanks for knowing about you Hug Left Hug Right
