2013 will apparently begin with a rather quiet month for Adam, as he has only one performance currently scheduled. This will be a Hennessy Artistry event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on January 4. After that, Adam’s next scheduled event is the kickoff of his international “non-tour” in Seoul, South Korea on February 17. There is no official word as yet on whether some North American dates will eventually be added to the non-tour in the spring, but recent comments from Adam have not been very optimistic.

Above we see Adam performing at his final concert of 2012, at the Mulia Resort in Bali, Indonesia. Happy New Year and enjoy the chat!

Risky Lady, you just turned a terrible evening into a terrific one!

I left my keys at work and my tenant wasn’t there when I got home at 7pm. Went to a nearbye restaurant for dinner and prayed that she would get home at a reasonable hour. I turned on my iPHone and, lo-and-behold, there is the Moscow concert link, so I clicked on it and listened for almost an hour-and-a-half before trotting back to the house to find the lights on and someone home. (Phew!)

Here’s the interesting thing. The waiter asked me what I was watching and he told me that his 12-year-old step-daughter is crazy about Adam! She has posters on the wall and everything.

He was under the impression that Adam was a boy-band type. I told him no. He said he’d check out Queenbert on YouTube and maybe listen to his step-daughter a bit more when she comes to visit. (She lives with her Dad in El Paso.)

P.S. I hope I find my keys tomorrow. They have no ID on them but rs’s keychain is with them and I love it so much. Please say a prayer that they are in my office.

Is this the link you were wanting to post?

  3. TLKC says:

The Moscow concert is AWWWSOME! Almost ready to forgive the snooty SPG who told us that the UK concerts weren’t as good as Moscow.

Well, not really. She was trying to steal away our good feelings. Adam was amazing in all of these concerts – not getting into the A+ versus the A++ stuff.

He loves the crowds, though, doesn’t he?

  4. riskylady says:

Calgary, I almost had the same problem. I found this link to part of the article, but to get the rest the only way was to subscribe to Harper’s….

    Looks very interesting and eye-opening!
Thank you, TLKC – I do hope you find your keys with rs‘s key chain! But I have to apologize to glambot – I jumped in, posted the Russia link, and did not notice that she had already posted it. And I am now in a state of semi-ecstasy, after watching Adam’s beautiful shoulders for a full hour. Ahhh, memories of Ste. Agathe…..
I truly loved TSMGO in this concert, the first part seemed more toned-down than usual, really lovely. The whole concert is great, but in the second half he seemed to really come into his own – maybe he was a little apprehensive of the Russian audience, as there had been some grumbling there too about “Freddie’s shoes.” Well, barefoot Adam has NO NEED of Freddie’s shoes, and I’m sure Freddie is perfectly happy up there about it. It’s just such a treasure to have another full Queen concert!

  5. TLKC says:

I didn’t know about the grumbling in Moscow. We watched Kiev in our hotel room in London but missed Moscow and Warsaw. Wonder if there is anything comparable for Warsaw.

I love his shoulders, too. Sigh.

  6. Calgary says:

riskyladyaely was able to post the link to the whole article above.

  7. riskylady says:

I agree totally, there is no “better than” with these concerts – each one has its own merits and character, depending on the venue, the audience, all kinds of variables! I really loved the Russian audience, they warmed up and were really loud and enthusiastic. The UK concerts were intimate, compared to this huge venue and audience, and each one of those 3 was different too. Brb, going back to Russia……

  8. milwlovesadam says:

    Ahem.

    SPG = Seriously Professional Glambert

    SGB = What?

    Need clarification. LOL. Razz Confused

    I’m going to Moscow now.

Just got back from grocery shopping. It took me 3 stores to find fresh ginger. Even Trader Joe’s was out. We were laughing in Trader Joe’s . Who woulda thunk there would be a run on ginger? They think Dr. Oz must have been pushing it. Mama needs ginger for her juice!

  9. riskylady says:

Oh, thanks, Calgary and aely – will read it after my 3rd listen of Moscow….priorities, priorities….

  10. milwlovesadam says:

TLKC, I hope you find your keys with the RS gift on it.

Now, I’m off to Moscow. I never watched the whole thing, and those shoulders are gonna send me somewhere…

He wore that necklace from Moscow on Divas. Our recycler.

BTW, that was me that posted that 5 Fiyeros vid the other day. I mentioned Adam with Megan Hilty and Terrance.

  11. nkd says:

What is anyone using to save these videos. savevideo.me doesn’t work for me like it used to. Real player isn’t grabbing it either. Question

  12. Kiwi says:

I use “keepvid” to download from youtube and vimeo. No problems at all. I like the fact that it doesn’t need a program to do it, just a website. Then I use ImToo to convert to DVD format if required.

  13. aely says:

I use keepvid also. Super easy.

  14. nkd says:

BTW, that was me that posted that 5 Fiyeros vid the other day. I mentioned Adam with Megan Hilty and Terrance.

Yes you did mils, and that sent me on a long, enjoyable youtube path!

Thank you glambotgram and riskylady for posting that Moscow concert. What a treasure!

Lots of interesting reading on radio play.

  17. TLKC says:

Clear Channel is depressing but not because they are censoring their artist selections based on political or social agendas. They are simply dumbing down.

They may be run by religious-righters but they are playing an awful lot the devil’s stuff so it’s not clear that they have a political agenda. The writer himself says they are not the evil empire; they just could be if they wanted to (which is dangerous enough, I admit.)

He also says their bottom line isn’t that good. They have used revised government rules on media concentration to buy up a lot of stations on the verge of bankruptcy. Making those stations pay is a high-wire act. They are a house of cards and the only way they can hold on is by catering to the massest of markets.

Radio is on it’s way out. Clear Channel is king of a country that everyone is leaving.

Imho, there is no agenda against Adam. What is hurting him is the sheer banality of the whole radio enterprise.

  18. Oksana2000 says:

TLKC, it wasn’t Warsaw, it was Wroclaw. Different cities in Poland. My very close went to that concert and she said that it was absolutely fantastic. I gave her Kiev DVD so she could compare, but obviously she is biased at this point, cause Wroclaw concert was the one that she attended.
BTW, she loved Kiev concert as well.
I think that we can’t compare stadium concerts (30,000) with more intimate settings like London.(5,000).
    I personally would prefere London.

  19. TLKC says:

I used keepvid, too. Works like a charm. Listening to it for the second time. Keep yourself alive…

  20. ultimathule says:

After reading (most) of that article, TLKC, what you posted makes absolute sense.

  21. Oksana2000 says:
  22. TLKC says:

Hi ulti. Reading between the lines, you can tell that the writer thinks CC is insidious but they just didn’t live up to his evil empire expectations. The employee Dilworth is a big clue, too. A guy like that wouldn’t be working in a company that was going places. (He sounds like that “Dilbert” on speed.)

ETA: Sorry, ulti. I wrote “read” instead of “reading” by mistake, which sounded really rude. Corrected it.

  23. TLKC says:

Thanks for the kind words mils! I haven’t even started on the Fiyero’s yet but I will later this week, so thanks in advance. I want to do AL’s crossword as well. Who said this would be a slow time?

nkd, I love your facebook picks, especially the one about the FURniture.

“These are the days of our lives….” I love the folkie songs in Roger’s and Brian’s interlude.

  24. nkd says:

I tried keepvid and my computer froze! I found a mediafire download on twitter, so I’m going that route. 5.4GB!

    TLKC…facebook pics?

  25. TLKC says:

Oops, two mistakes on one page. Warsaw / Wroclaw. And have I been mixing you up with someone else nkd?

Between this and the lost keys, something tells me I might have been better to stay in bed this morning. Glad I found this out at 11:52 p.m.

  26. milwlovesadam says:

I just flew back from Moscow, and boy are my arms tired.

    Ba dum bum.

That was just fantastic. Loved the angle so you could see all of him, only that one close up of the jumbotron, but, we got to see twirly and happy dancy Adam. He really started to hit his stride with this one, more loosey and dancy.

‘Ya know, he really does have balls of steel. It took a tremendous amount of courage to do these shows. And they worked in reverse. It started with the biggest venue and ended with the smaller venue.

No wonder it took until the 5th show to rip his pants!!

Please universe, let Queenbert happen in the states. PLEASE.

Can anyone say Madison Square Garden?

    {{{ Or Milwaukee Wisconsin. It is quite centrally located. Devil }}}

  27. TLKC says:

    Going to bed, now….

  28. TLKC says:

LOL, I hope so mils for all our sakes. It will be the road trip to end all road trips. I don’t think Adam would have said it if it wasn’t on a definite backburner. Count me in for Madison Square Gardens, Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, All the Gardens.

Really going to bed now. Not pulling a kradamour.

  29. nkd says:

It’s ok TLKC, I don’t use facebook, so was wondering! Hoping for a better day for you tomorrow! Kiss

  30. milwlovesadam says:

nkd, you and I must be the only people on the planet not on Facebook.

And I’m not a Twatterer either.

    And my phone isn’t smart.

And I don’t have an IPod.

And I read real books and magazines.

And I print out real pictures from my camera.

And I have never played Angry Birds. Or Words With Friends.

Heaven help me. I’m a dinosaur.

    Oksana
I would prefer the smaller venue too. I think its amazing for the artist to perform in a stadium with that many people, but as an audience member the more intimate ones are better.

I saw Paul Young in concert at Wembly arena in the 80’s, the stage show was amazing with the set, lights, jumping around etc, but he was like a little ant. I saw him again a couple of years later playing at the Brit Club in Abu Dhabi, the stage was basically set over the swimming pool. No gimmicks just him and a band, a few hundred people in the audience. It was much more enjoyable from my perspective.

But saying that I’m just off to start watching Moscow don’t think I saw it, as was staying with friends at the time.

mils….I’ve never played angry birds either, or words (whatever that is), and I still read books and magazines….however I have just got a smart phone (don’t know how to use it), I do use facebook (but not to play games), I do have a twitter account, but have never sent a tweet, just opened it to be able to vote on vh1 for Adam, do print out the best photos, and I do have an Ipod which I use quite a lot. So I am not quite a dinosaur but have started evolving!

  36. aely says:

    Bowie’s video. Interesting. Berlin?
Need to listen/watch more. The end he looks so ordinary. Not a word I thought I would ever use for him. Especially in a video.

Whooo – Just watched Moscow – my ears are ringing – must’ve had it cranked up to the rafters.

you know I’m always seeing tweets on twitter people comparing Adam to Zayn Malik, looks wise….I just don’t get it, but I suppose its flattering that they think he looks like someone nearly 11 years his junior…

  39. ultimathule says:

What’s that white thing on the inner corner of his left eye?

  40. ultimathule says:

Bowie – was interesting, I guess – no real desire to see it again though. Maybe when it fits into the album I’ll get it.

  41. ultimathule says:

Checked Google images – in some pics there is a resemblance to Adam.

  42. nkd says:

I like the Bowie song. Video is hmmmmm, but intriguing.
The song seems contemplative and a bit sad.

ETA Listened some more, I kind of love it!
luval, I can’t wait for you to get up to hear this!!!

  44. rs says:

Oh TLKC I hope that you find your keys. Everything you have to go through when you lose them (changing locks, etc) is such a bummer. But don’t worry about the Hamsa key chain. I will just send you another one. I loved your story about the waiter. It sounds like you did something that could have a very meaningful effect on his relationship with his step daughter, if he “maybe starts listening to her a bit” and they find a common interest. Maybe you could bring him a Kiev video to give her. She would love him forever for that.

  45. LadyNorth says:

MP4 DL http://www.mediafire.com/?jrmii3gin1owl2h … for this Queen + Adam Lambert Perf. Moscow – 1080, warning large file http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1oz2q4S1ho

  48. LadyNorth says:

Thanks a lot nkd Big Smile I’ll try that. Gosh, my disc space is running out Grin Oh, that’s the 1080 versionThinking My current lap top can’t handle it, picture and sound is not in sync Frown But on the process getting a new one so I try to save it anyway.

I took a look at those articles of music business, thanks for aely and who posted the first one. HowStuffWorks was very informative, I read all the 7 articles. According to that, because of no radio play, singles don’t go to charts because it counts the most. And you don’t get your singles played unless some payed independent promoters recommend your singles. I know Adam did many radio station promos, but any idea what other ways his company tried to get his songs to be played?

This subject came to my mind too, because yesterday evening I watched large amount of previous Adam media stuff right after Idol and after releasing FYE (thanks Cher again for DVDs). Do the radio stations still play WWFM? Because I don’t know which media in US in the most influential, tell me what would have been the best thing (except Idol judging) that had taken him into the best spotlight? Which TV shows, what kind of advertising? Lol I am not his management, just want to understand the logic better.

I am also wondering how much the fact that he is not in US charts affects UK and many other countries’ air play? But there are some countries where is doesn’t affect so much (like Finland). Can the songs that are not singles be added to playlists? I think I saw a tweet that some radio station in Australia added Trespassing even though it’s not official single there. Cuckoo should definitely be played in the radio. And Pop that lock. And Shady. And BE. And…

And I am pretty sure that Adam’s popularity and radio play in Russia area is so good now because Queenbert brought him visibility there. I still don’t understand why it was totally ignored in media in US.

  49. LadyNorth says:

nkd, no luck with that either Frown It said “This file is temporarily unavailable because there are no resources available under the owner’s account.” Whatever it means. Maybe it means this… Have try later, got to go now.
