January marked a few important dates for Adam. Firstly, on the 20th, he celebrated his 15th anniversary since his American Idol audition aired. Secondly, he celebrated his 42nd birthday. Now, the ageless Adam heads to Japan for a QAL mini-tour of just 5 dates. It will be a short break (exotic vacay maybe) before his next gig – Mardi Gras in Sydney on March 2nd. And it seems that new music is also on the horizon.

    The view of Tokyo from my hotel room is just as captivating at night and then again during the jet lag hours when sleep is so desperately needed but impossible to achieve! I feel like I’m channeling Bill Murray from “Lost in Translation”. Never mind, we’ll work through it. These are exciting times and I can’t wait for the Japanese fans to see our show. We are making special plans!

    YESSS !!! Show Day tomorrow – TODAY ! Sunday. Here’s my Guitar rig, and my scruff-bag jet-lagged face half way through a long final day’s rehearsal. Some final adjustments to the set list and treading a fine line between playing enough to polish every song, and playing too much and making the finger ends raw – which is an ever-present concern at this point for me. OK – now we have put in the work, and a few small prayers are in order that we will deliver what we have prepared without any noticeable train-wrecks !! ???? This stuff never gets easy – but that’s probably why we love it so much. The extra ingredient will arrive tomorrow – the most crucial ingredient of all —- you !! THE AUDIENCE !!! We decided many years ago that we would invite our audience to perform with us every night. And that’s what sets fire to the show.
