What a January – rave reviews for the concerts in UK and Europe; news about a new label, single and record; and of course, his 33rd birthday! Looks like February will just be Queen and Adam as they tour all month long wrapping up in Sheffield on the 27th. Adam won’t have any time to relax though because it will probably be single and album promotion in March and beyond. Can’t wait to hear the new single!

    I’ve been taking a trip through the AO archives over the last few days and have found some very interesting stuff.

    From 1999 to 2002, Los Angeles hosted what was the modern day Studio 54 called Club Makeup. For three years the line went around the block at Wilshire Blvd’s famous El Rey Theatre. This dance club was fashioned after traditional Glam Rock (T Rex, Bowie, Queen) and showcased a bombastic, shocking live Midnight rock n’ roll show that featured rock stars, drag queens, performance artists and celebrities. Xander Smith was the musical director, played guitar and worked with an impressive list including Linda Perry, Adam Lambert, the Rocky Horror cast, Hedwig, Ice T, Dee Dee Ramone, Dale Bozzio, CC Deville, Pauley Perrette, Orgy, Alice in Chain’s Jerry Cantrell, the Cult’s Ian Asterbury, and many more.

    IMHO, Adam’s look is eerily similar to his current one but a least one poster on that thread doesn’t agree:

    I need verification because the pics don’t look like Adam. although makeup can do wonders (to make you prettier or not). It does look like the pants are stuffed and Adam probably doesn’t need to do that. LOL

    Kradamour – I’m so sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. You were so devoted to her care for the past few years; I admire you for devoting yourself to her so selflessly. I imagine that you and she shared a lot of love. Please accept my sincere sympathies for your loss, and I hope that in the coming days you will find comfort and strength in the love of family and friends.     Quick response to various developments of the last few days…

    – I loved the Billboard re-discovery of Trespassing. That was a great article! Bless that editor for writing it.

    – I think Randy Bachman misinterpreted Brian’s email, misremembered it, or the fan mis-heard him. I kinda doubt that Bri, Roger, and Adam have an album planned at this point, with some Freddie songs and some Adam songs. Both Roger and Bri have said that there’s not much left in the vault that Freddie sang on, just bits and pieces (except for the remaining duet with Micheal Jackson, which apparently the Jackson estate is going to do something with). And whenever they’ve been asked, including most recently in the Vienna and Finnish publications, all three of them deflect the question and say that they’re just focusing on the tour and haven’t really discussed recording together. So although I think it would be great, I’m not getting my hopes up until I hear more.

    – I loved the video that Adam posted of himself skating with Sauli. That made me smile sooo big. I love that they are hanging out together again from time to time and seem so comfortable with each other. I totally agree with what rs said on the Amsterdam thread about their relationship – whatever it may be and whatever it may become, I’m happy for it, and for them. I thought it was wonderfully telling that, in his introduction to STL in Amsterdam, Adam very conspicuously left off the part about how he didn’t have anyone and was lonely and could someone please find him somebody. LOL

    – That “rectangle” under Adam’s lip actually has a name, other than “rectangle”. It’s actually known as a “soul patch”! I actually like Adam’ soul patch. And looky looky whose picture comes up when you google “soul patch” – one of most favoritest early professional pics of Adam (holy moly!!) – held up as a quintessential example of a soul patch. I love this picture of him, and I LOVE the soul patch!

    Welcome cait1602! So glad you found us! I think you’ll find we’re a pretty great bunch here.

    Sounds like you are falling for discovering Adam the same way the rest of us did… tripping down the rabbit hole to a wonderful world of amazing video after amazing video, and before you know it, hours have passed, chores remain undone, and the sun is coming up. But you feel so satisfied and so happy and so privileged to have gotten a dose of that glorious voice into your ear holes and that gorgeous face into your eyeballs and that funny, charming personality into your heart.

    Or is that only me that happens to? Razz

    It’s an addiction. And some of here at ALL (not naming names!) have got it bad. Big Smile

    Thanks cwm – a soul patch. I knew there was a name for it but the memory failed.

    As far as Randy Bachman’s comment, the fan who “heard” it on the radio is emailing Randy to clarify and we will find out. It didn’t translate to me as Queen doing a cd with Adam. It sounded as though Queen planned to release a cd in the coming year and it would have some Adam on it. It might be another live cd, which could very well have some Adam on it.

    Also, we have hear rumours about a Christmas 2015 DVD so it could be that.

    It would be nice to know that Adam had a second iron in the fire for this year.

    Click on the picture you want to save so it opens up bigger.

    Then right click on it and choose “View Background Image”

    Then right click on that image and choose “Save Image As”

    Name it what you want and choose the folder you want it in, (I just choose Pictures) and click Save

    Yes, I will be in Hamburg on Thursday. Already got the tickets in December, just for seeing the amazing Dr. Bri playing guitar and Roger slaying the drums. Didnt even care who was “murdering” ( I so know better now ) the songs of my favourite band. Was really excited before this whole Glambert-Fever. I dont think I can describe what im going through now lol but I think most of you guys do know how i feel right now Wink

    I dont think I am going to get out of this rabit hole ever again. Dont think I even want to. It’s really amazing ( using the word amazing quite often in the last week… ) what I see, read, hear about all this. Even you guys, the famous Glamberts are so crazy nuts – I absolutely love it. You make me feel so welcome even if I dont know much about anything right now, still discovering all around.

    And I am still baffled how one person can captivated someone like this. I fell pretty fast in love with Freddie — his voice, his persona, his character, his laugh etc. — but with Adam. It was like a blow with a hammer. Too fast to even react, hell too fast to even notice it before it was way too late. Just hearing his voice, singing, laughing, talking and I was gone. Lol but really there could be a worse fate.

    And really thanks. I dont know any other Glamberts, I dont think any of my friends even know anything more about Adam Lambert than that he is singing for Queen. It’s nice to have some ppl to talk to about it. Really is Smile I am so grateful for it

    Check out the above FB photo – The jacket Adam is wearing in his Freddie costume look a lot like the one he wears at the first of the show. I know he recycles but that was a loooooog time ago

    Hi cait. I like that we are “famous Glamberts” now. You should have heard what people called us a few years ago! Anyway, now that you have joined the tribe, we expect you to share your Glambert experiences with us, so please write us a recap of Thursdays concert with all the details that you remember and care to include that will give us the feeling of having been there. And most importantly, have a fabulous time and drown yourself in Adam’s live voice (there is nothing like it), Brian’s singing guitar, Roger’s beat, and the whole QAL experience!

    Thanks glambotgram for your instructions on saving from Instagram. Actually, I found that when I click on the photo, it just registers that as a “like” from me and I can’t open it bigger. But, after some poking around, I discovered that if you right click on the picture and select “inspect elements” you get a pop-up with a bunch of gobblygook. In and amongst that gobblygook is link ending in .jpg. If you right click on that link, it will open up the original source of the picture and you can save that. Rather involved with several steps, but at least it works! Thanks for helping me!

    Read the Rolling Stone cover story on Sam Smith the other day. He has a musical theater background and has trained his voice professionally, although neither as much as our guy.

    His singing style, like Adele’s, suffers in lack of vocal protection as you sing. She ended up with vocal cord damage and had to have surgery, voice therapy, and take a huge break from touring and recording.

    I actually have a hard time listening to some of their music, because as a speech therapist, I can hear this in their songs, and just wince because I can hear the way they are damaging their instruments– and livelihoods.

    It’s like so many aspects of show business, they are surrounded by “yes” people, who aren’t looking after their best interests.

    I mean, honestly, doesn’t anyone listen or coach or advise these singers in voice technique? Wouldn’t it be in their best interest to keep their money-makers able to make money and sing???

    One of the things I respect about Adam so much is the way he protects his voice. Even Brian talks about the way Adam does and Freddie didn’t.
