What a January – rave reviews for the concerts in UK and Europe; news about a new label, single and record; and of course, his 33rd birthday! Looks like February will just be Queen and Adam as they tour all month long wrapping up in Sheffield on the 27th. Adam won’t have any time to relax though because it will probably be single and album promotion in March and beyond. Can’t wait to hear the new single!

    Unfortunately, I can only have so many links to the most recent posts and with so many concerts…
    However, there are a few ways to get to the February Chat thread.
    1. (as nkd stated above) – use the link under HANDY SITE LINKS. I put the most recent chat threads there
    2. Using the pull down CHAT menu at the top of the page. 2 ways to find old threads/posts.
    2a. Just click directly on the word CHAT and it will then go to a page which will have all the chat posts starting from the most recent.
    2b. Use the CHAT pull down menus and sub-menus to select the chat thread that you want directly
    3. Using the calendar below the RECENT POSTS. Click on the Feb.1 date and it will go to a page with whatever threads were posted on that date. Usually the first of each month is the monthly chat thread.

    So lots of ways to navigate. Hypnotized

    Thanks everyone for all your good wishes and prayers. I am healing very well and my physical therapy is progressing nicely too. I am already doing light weight bearing on my foot in my boot of course. Mils, that advice to take painkillers before going to physical therapy was great. However, I was doing the home exercises yesterday and was wondering why it ached so much and finally realized I don’t take the painkiller at home! Silly me. Silly

    I was disappointed that there wasn’t much livestream yesterday but the vids helped. So South America huh? My foot will be ready. Let’s see what happens. Bri might be ready to roll. I saw people on Facebook checking airfares from the UK and Denver just in case. Yes

    Lunch break was filled with Adams voice. First time i had done that. Downside break was over way too fast…but i am less hectic, more calm and still humming/singing along in my head. That could be my new fav thing in my breaks.

    Greetings from Prague and thank you for all the have fun -wishes! Fun it has been Big Smile

    I just came back to the hotel from castle hills, Prague castle was very beautiful monumental collection of ancient buildings. The others are still sightseeing elsewhere, I headed for the must needed rest before dinner. Sadly I will be leaving tomorrow morning, so I need to start packing too.

    Despite of having health problems it’s been a wonderful trip, I loved the concert and have enjoyed very much of my ALLers company. It just is a whole different thing when you get to know people personally and face to face. Long breakfasts together and all the other activities and conversations during days and evenings. It will be sad to say goodbye and not knowing when to meet again face to face. I wish I would have a chance to meet the rest of you too. South America is unfortunately out of question for me, as well as anything outside Europe. But keeping thumbs up some of you will make plans to visit concerts in Europe.

    I’m sorry that I can’t catch cwm in Krakow. Believe it or not, I could still go to one or two concerts Wink I will recap about my concert experience later on Prague thread – again interesting and different from the other ones.

    skaschep, I do believe they take down the stage immediately after the show. There was a picture on twitter of fans still in the standing audience area as the set was being broken down. Yup, they are fast!

    Hi ALL, sorry I have posted. Have been too busy with the group,the concert and revisiting Prague. I will try and write a recap of the concert when I get home this weekend.

    This has been another of my wonderful group vacays centred around an Adam concert. It has been lovely getting to know LadyNorth in person and we are sorry she has to leave tomorrow. We had a great farewell dinner at a French bistro tonight. Yum! The rest of us leave on Friday; the Riskys to London for Wembley and mmm222 and adamized for Kraków. Sadly, I just go home to a forecasted snow storm. One concert certainly wasn’t enough, but more just wasn’t to be. So it will have to do and I will have a job going through my photos. I was talking to the metro after the concert looking through them and after a bit of jostling on the train I went back to look and they had gone!!!! All of them. Instead there was an old vid from my Rhine River cruise. How did that get there? I erased all the old stuff! I kept looking, closed and opened the camera, nada. I was devastated. Then after more than an hour, somehow I saw different “folders” on the camera, and went to the one called “stills” and lo and behold! There they were! I don’t know if anyone can imagine my relief, maybe the photographers among you. Anyway, I downloaded them to the iPad and there are some real beauties there. I will work on them a bit on my computer at home, make a picasa album, and give you the link in a members only site. It will take a few days, though. Enough for now, roomie needs sleep, lol

    So glad our lovely group of ALL’ers had a wonderful time in Prague. I know the best memories will be of being together.

    Home today, we have a “cold day” so no school, wind chill is about -20. So I get to listen to the stream YAY.

    Thank-you for the YouTube interview of Peter Freestone, riskylady. Very, very interesting. That Queen fan really did a 180 degree turn on Adam, didn’t he? You can hear quiver in his voice as he admits to being an “online warrior” (Freestone’s words) but he has definitely opened his mind, which is great to hear. In the end, winning over sceptics is the true test of a person’s talent and Adam is doing a great job.

    It’s interesting that Freddie’s assistant is lurking online frequently enough to see the QAL discussions at their worst. It must hurt a lot to see the comments from both sides. The key point in the conversation, imho, is made by the Queen fan, who says that the moderation on QAL is very good.

    Queen’s biggest problem – and it is THEIR problem – is that the Queenonline moderator is terrible. He lets the disrespect go on for pages and admits to disliking QAL.

    This matters because fan archives are a huge mine of information for social scientists and anthropologists and they will continue to be for decades, even centuries.

    I recently took a nostalgia tour of the adamofficial archives and they are an absolute treasure of information about how people think now and what matters to us in these times. They are inventive, funny and informative in ways that go far beyond the matter of being Adam’s fans (including how we as a community discuss, view, share and commiserate on various elemental and human tragedies around the world.) How we cope; how we forget; how we move on. Regarding Adam: how we admire him and why; what we think makes him so special (i.e. what qualities we value in person, etc.)

    They are a damn good read. And so, as we all know, is this blog, which reflects a Whole Lotta Love for Adam plus a whole lot more about the way a community develops around a mutual passion and grows into something truly wonderful.

    Adam is inspirational and his fans respond to that. It is reflected in the sites that “fan” him and the people that run them. We have our moments but there is an undercurrent of desire to live up to the man himself.

    Queen is inspirational, too. Their online sites probably have a lot of similarly interesting stuff in their archives going back decades but queenonline, in particular, has collapsed into a nasty argument on one matter alone and the conversation seems to be running in a permanent loop. In that sense the posters are pretty much ensuring that Queen archives will be less of a testament to their feelings and their sense of community than they should.
