Adam-TheOriginalHigh
What a January – rave reviews for the concerts in UK and Europe; news about a new label, single and record; and of course, his 33rd birthday! Looks like February will just be Queen and Adam as they tour all month long wrapping up in Sheffield on the 27th. Adam won’t have any time to relax though because it will probably be single and album promotion in March and beyond. Can’t wait to hear the new single!

We are all on an Original High and the photo above is courtesy of Adam when he announced his new record news.

Enjoy the chat!

Thanks guys for your kind words about my Recap. It helped me a lot to process and store away the memory of that awesome amazing night.

AL thank you for taking the time to make a pdf of it. Saved and printed it for my Q+AL album in the making.

Have to remember to vote…Adams 2nd at the moment.

Now I’m really worried after reading all these comments, don’t know if I want to go over to the Milan thread, scared to read it, in case he’s damaged his voice……he wouldn’t go ahead unless the doc said he could though, surely?

  5. ultimathule says:

No worries, Hk fan – it was brilliant –

    Welcome sweetpea!!!!

Looks like you already fit fine in our “pod.”

So, my bronchitis is now confirmed as early ( ‘walking” ) pneumonia. I am on a heavy hitting antibiotic, and will get better. In time. Thanks for all your well wishes. Cait, feel better soon, it’s a bitch.

Got a lovely call from Jojosie last night. Miss her so much, she’s and amazing gal. What a nice surpirse to hear her voice again. Wink She made me talk to her until the wee hours. Just like she made me come to Peoria during GN. Wink Wink

those crutches aren’t just walking aids

Once, when I temporarily had to use crutches, I visited a friend and her kid 6 year old kid kept on playing with one of my crutches which was way taller than the kid.

  11. Axxxel says:

@sweetpeabert!, welcome to the ALL-glamhigh ! Where everyone is “the popular kid”…Sorry I cannot join you during most of these European concerts, as they happen during my nightsleep.

The only one I was able to see “live” was “Amsterdam” and that was just because I could not sleep well… and watching the livestream did not help me to fall asleep… LOL…

  12. M says:

SweetpeabertWelcome to this friendly place. Everyone here on the same train!

milwlovesadam Sorry to heard you’re not well. It is a bitch, take lots of rest Sleepy and let mother nature run its course. What wonder drug did Adam took??

  13. cher says:

Oh Cait and Mils! Please take good care of yourselves! That can get so serious and please keep your chests warm. Feel better!

cher and playing Adam’s music before he gets to sleep so that he will dream about Adam

Haha axxxel. That’d give him nightmares for sure. Grin
angelowal, that’s a great idea to let him feel how much they hurt. Really Pissed

  15. Sweetpeabert says:

Finally going to watch Hamburg, maybe I’ll catch up to Milan by the time the emotion wears down. The question is do I watch Frankfurt or not??? I’ve skipped it on purpose so far.

  16. milwlovesadam says:

I love that the next show is at Schleyerhalle.

TeeHee. That’s what he’s gonna do.

    Shley them all.

    Shlay the Hall.

    Slay ’em all.

(( oh my, my meds are kicking in…. night ALL ).

Sweat pea, watch what you want, but, have you seen Dragon Attack from Toronto 2? Or STL from the same show. Those were killer. Absolutely killer. Look for vids by filmqueen.

@Sweetpeabert Tried to watch Frankfurt…couldn’t by “Save Me” I was crying, talking to myself, had to walk away from the computer…I could see the exhaustion. Adam makes me a basket case anyway…

Will try and watch Milan tonight…

  21. Cait1602 says:

Really thank you for all the well wishes Smile Looks like I have to take a few more days off of work. Its getting better but not so fast as I would have like.

Mils I hope you feel better today! Wonder too what meds Adam took for him being able to perform on such a high lvl. Literally blew me away again.

Today I think I will continue watching TALCvids on YouTube. Started yesterday at the beginning. My eyes got bigger and bigger seeing how many vids there are.
And of course checking out Milan vids. Still cant wrap my mind around that he really did WWTLF. Boy send me reeling

  22. LadyNorth says:

Oh no, take care with your conditions mils and cait and get well soon! That pneumonia doesn’t sound good at all mils! I guess that’s the problem with many of these winter illnesses, they start from innocent cold, but easily lead to bronchitis and more serious conditions… Be careful!

What in the world they gave Adam to get him on his feet this quickly! I am more relieved after reading all that stuff about voice saving techniques and how he used his voice different way yesterday. But sorry Adam, better take it easy, rest and stay away from those Milan fashion shops Wink What a relief there is longer break before next show. And soon after that, Prague!!!! Big Smile

  23. HK fan says:

    Hi Cait
if you went to the Frankfurt show, do you live near there??

Wishing both you and Mils a speedy recovery,

  24. Cait1602 says:

HK Thank you Smile went to the Hamburg show. 3 hour drive from my hometome away. But would have driven 10 hours or more for seeing QAL.

  25. HK fan says:

oooops, sorry….course it was, not even close to Frankfurt!! I lived about 30 mins outside Frankfurt for a year, years ago…..and suddenly thought..Cait went to that one, maybe she’s near where I was…i must have had a brain fart!!

  26. Cait1602 says:

Live about 3 hours from Frankfurt away too…north of North Rhine-Westphalia Smile

  27. rs says:

Cait and mils, take care of yourselves. My prescription: plenty of rest, hot tea with lemon and ginger, or cognac if you prefer, keep warm, and most important, lots and lots of AFL video, preferably acoustic performances to lull you to sleep rather than make you want to get up and dance.

Cait, I was just (November 2014) on a Rhine River cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. Really beautiful, except for Cologne, which unfortunately we got to on the first day of the Carnival, so it was packed to the gills with drunk revelers. Too bad, because I know that it is a beautiful city. The cathedral was closed because last year on Carnival day there was looting there.

  28. ultimathule says:
  29. Cait1602 says:

rs ugh Cologne during Carnival is hell. I have not one bit of Carnival-gene in me. I despise Carnival and stay away from Cologne an all the other Carnival-cities throughout this times of year.
But yeah the scenery around the Rhine is really beautiful. Smile

  30. rs says:

On the other hand, Carnivale in Venice is magnificent! I was there a few years ago, and the riskys and mieps are there now.

  31. milwlovesadam says:

Health report: much much much better!! I used old fashioned remedies combined with a strong medication ( LOL the Roto-Rooter of antibiotics ), and the recipe worked.

Thanks for all your well- wishes, I’m still not 100%, but, then, when was I ever?? Razz

So, we all have a couple of days off from new stuff, but, we have soooo much to look back on and listen to.

Think I’ll get lost in Save Me for a while…

  33. Sweetpeabert says:

@Toni B: I knew it was going to be tough to watch Frankfurt videos if I did at all. I was at the stream, knew he was sick the first line he sang. By FBG I was talking to my computer willing him through(yes I’m one of the wierd ones lol) and by save me I took my headphones off because I couldn’t bear to listen closely anymore. I just wanted him to be able to go to bed.

I attempted to watch the recorded stream because I have a habit of following him through tours on youtube. I made it to FBG again before I turned it off. Found an individual video of Save Me, why I clicked it I don’t know, watched it but oh my goodness his eyes…. I’m empathetic with him and love the close up videos because you can see/read the emotion on his face. Let’s just say I didn’t make it through that video… There’s a picture on twitter it looks like he’s singing Save Me but he has tears in his eyes. I don’t know the date of the picture but if they coencide with each other I’ll need tissues.

Milan on the other hand was amazing and I wasn’t even there. I’ve never been more proud of him, an audience, or Glamberts in my life. Smile

My basket case moment was Milan’s WWTLF first time ever he has made me not just tear up, straight out nobody else is aloud to see me cry.

I told Ras I’d come over hear after Milan stream and didn’t because I couldn’t formulate words.

Funny, he left me speechless and now I won’t stop talking. I apologize.

  34. milwlovesadam says:

    OMG.

Butchering STL on Idol right now….

  35. milwlovesadam says:

Sweatpea, no apologies needed honey. We get it. We got it. We’re addicted to it. I listened to Milan, and could still hear his sickness, but the crowd was so into it and loving him, it just doesn’t matter.

Oh, and to all my ALL friends, yes, we do tend to mother Adam. We always have. Since the beginning. We vacillate ( I know, I know, big word Mils ) between adoring him and drooling over him and then mothering him all the time. It’s part of what makes this fandom so much fun.

Some of us are “cougars” ( Lord, how I hate that word ), some of us are 29, some of us are younger than that, who cares???

What brings us together is a lot of common interests. Not just Adam, when we talk in real life in email, on the phone, or at concerts and get togethers, we find we all have so much in common. It’s downright uncanny. It’s like we all start in the middle of the book, not the first page.

It’s not just the music. It’s not just the unbelievable smoking sensuality. It’s not just the humor, the charm, the laughter, the joy of him and it all. It’s us. Plain and simple, this is not just a fandom.

    Do ya’all agree??

  36. Sweetpeabert says:

Thanks~ @Mils. Sometimes I feel a little odd for being so invested in, close to, I don’t know the word to Adam. I’ve never given much of anything beyond sympathy for another performr if something bad happened. Adam I care about the person too. I guess we all do or we wouldn’t be Glamberts. Smile

I feel odd until I find a Glambert and then somebody gets me.Smile

  40. angelowal says:

mils, as usual, you’ve expressed it just right! I’ve always found it impossible to explain to non-Glamberts the dichotomy of admiring the beauty and sensuality of Adam while at the same time feeling protective and maternal.

Oh, and to all my ALL friends, yes, we do tend to mother Adam. We always have. Since the beginning. We vacillate ( I know, I know, big word Mils ) between adoring him and drooling over him and then mothering him all the time. It’s part of what makes this fandom so much fun.

Oh goodness, this fandom is such a refuge for me. To have a group of individuals from all over who ‘get’ it, share it and then add all the bells and whistles of a flourishing, caring friendship. Can it get any better than that!

Glad you are feeling better, and so quickly too, yay!!! Big Smile .

  41. Toni B says:

@Sweetpeabert I fully understand…no need for sorry. The feelings Adam arouses sometimes make no sense, he’s special and truly a GFG and that’s all there is to it. Big Smile
Btw, I watched Milan and I still cried but they were tears of relief and joy in part because of the audience – they were just the right crowd at this time in the tour for Adam and the band Smile

  42. Cait1602 says:

No work till tuesday for me. Gosh i hate being ill. But really how is Adam being able to do a concert on such a high lvl of awesomeness while sick? He deserves a fucking medal for it!

sweatpea I know how you feel about Frankfurt. I cant watch and listen to Milan atm. Was strung too high the day before and during. Starting to cry right away when i see it. So overwhelming for me….

I love that so many different ages are here. Seeing how one person captivate and.unite different ppl. Its so nice to see and expierence! Im so glad to be here. Thanks again rs

  43. mieps says:

Hi all, glad to see those that were sick bettering. I’m feeling a cold coming up in Venice, hopefully that’s all it is!
Wanted to give a heads-up that I’ve posted my story in the Milan thread!

Going through Adams “Upright Cabaret” songs. Wow…no words

  46. LadyNorth says:

    Thanks mieps Smile

Going to catch it after a nap. Another sickie here, some sort of cold hit today, feeling tired and shivering and head aching. Staying under a blanket today, I hope couple days of rest will do wonders. I mostly collected my Prague stuff already, so I don’t have to do much.

  47. ultimathule says:

“they were just the right crowd at this time in the tour for Adam and the band”

So true, Toni B – thought the same thing – wonderful to see – one of the reasons loved the crazy fans singing in the ustream –

  48. ultimathule says:

Well, mieps – that being sorta lost in a foreign country, along with a language barrier, is rather like a true nightmare (don’t know how many here have had a dream of being lost, but not uncommon and have had them myself). You’re an extraordinary brave woman to go on adventures like this. Interesting what the boy elicits from us – besides tempting bankruptcy – lol.
