What a January – rave reviews for the concerts in UK and Europe; news about a new label, single and record; and of course, his 33rd birthday! Looks like February will just be Queen and Adam as they tour all month long wrapping up in Sheffield on the 27th. Adam won’t have any time to relax though because it will probably be single and album promotion in March and beyond. Can’t wait to hear the new single!

    If someone says that they don’t like Adam’s voice, well, I can accept that there are different tastes in music, but to say that there is no chemistry on stage between Adam and the Band, that is just delusional and shows that the person’s perception of reality is being warped by his preconceived notions.

    Just found a group on Facebook called “Adam Lambert is not even fit to sing Queen songs at a karaoke bar” and made the mistake to read the comments in there. Im totally appalled. Thats the most hurtful thing i ever saw in Queen Fandom. They are absolutely cruel and make us REAL Queen Fans look real bad.

    Im stunned, totally stunned by that. I cant believe something like that exists in the Glambert Fandom. Or are there any extreme Queen haters around???

    I have never heard of any extreme Queen haters around, Cait1602. Bieber and maybe others but never Queen and never a facebook group.

    Im sorry to bring that in here. It just a bit too much for to me see something like that. It almost feels like Queen Fans arent welcomed by other Queen Fans anymore if you like Adams performances or even turned into a Glambert. It turning into a war between Queen Fans on some pages. It sucks seeing something like that. Frown

    Yes, you can buy it. You would think that an organisation as long-standing and as sophistcated as Queen has that kind of coverage.

    Cait, a group saying that Adam isn’t fit to sing something can’t be Glamberts. Sounds like nasty pseudo Queen fans. What does bother me, though, is when Glamberts go on those sites and think that they are defending Adam, but are really stooping to the level of the negativity there.

    oh no..bronchitis is not good….last time my son had that, he was put on a short course of steroids, plus antibiotics,,, the steroids worked quickly.

    rs You cant talk with those “fans”. Totally stubborn, ignorant. I know. I didnt even think about trying to defend anyone. I am just not used this brutal form of hate. Never before have I expierenced this level of anger, hate and disrepect in Queen Fandom before. Ok there were negative comments about Adam, even on Queenonline.com it wasnt nice to read so I left that forum. But what is going on now in some blogs, communities or groups is a whole new lvl for me

    Cait, we have been living with Adam haters on the internet for the past six years. Mostly it was based in homophobia. I can understand how upsetting this latest round is to a Queen fan like you, though, because these people purport to be Queen fans, too. But the thing to remember is that they really are a small group of people almost exclusively on the internet, and the internet is a hotbed for all the crazies to come out and anonymously vent to their heart’s desire. They really aren’t representative of the vast majority of Queen fans don’t go near the internet fan sites. They just go to concerts and fall in love with Adam!

    Maybe I am to sensitive for something like that. I would never think about saying things like that about my least favourite singers/actors. But thats maybe the way of life in internet.

    Cait, everything has come so fast for you! When did you first hear Adam sing? Two weeks ago? Of course everything is overwhelming! The good and the bad. You haven’t had time to grow any armor yet. And of course this is the place to vent. That is what we do here Big Smile

    Must go to sleep now. I have a doctor’s appt tomorrow morning so that I can hopefully ward off this cold that has been coming on for ages. Can’t be sick next week!

    Well, I’m super sorry to hear he’s sick, super sad for fans that won’t get a new show anytime soon. Maybe they’ll be able to schedule a show sometime this year. Time will tell.

    Bronchitis is a bitch. I’ve had it several times, and may in fact be looking at it again right now. The local bug going around right now is a bitch of an upper respiratory thing that just lingers and hangs on and doesn’t go away with antibiotics. And then it turns into secondary infections like sinus and ear and bronchitis. I’ve got it all, but am working and no longer contagious. Just not over it all yet.

    Adam is overall, young, healthy, in very good shape, and has smart eating and exercise habits. These should help him rebound. No doubt he’s on antibiotics as we speak, decongestants, using his humidifier, drinking lots and lots of hot tea, and being as doted on as he’ll allow.

    If only he’d let a devoted fan or two be his road mom, as we all joked about on GN!! But, really, a road mom wouldn’t be a bad thing. I’d apply for the job again, but, my luck, I’d get sick right along with him. LOL

    Oh.

    But he did say the doctor ordered him to stay in bed.

    Muhahwahahahaha.

    In my Eastern European heritage , if you dare say out loud ” You know I haven’t been sick for a long time.” Or, ” my son got a scholarship.” Or, ‘My daughter just met a VERY nice man…” You simply must say “Kinehora.” And like the Greeks did in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, you also spit three times.

    My mom, and a lot of mothers I know, say ” kinehora poo poo poo” while holding the lapel of their shirt out a bit out, so as to spit on their shirt. They don’t actually spit, but the “p” on “Poo” is rather pronounced.

    What a great word ‘kinehora’! I always fear that I’m jinxing when I forecast something positively, so I’ll be using that lovely word often.

    It sounds sorta Scottish to me Heh – maybe the name of one of those remote little northern islands in the Outer Hebrides – “Oh I’m off to Kinehora for a spot of fishing and bird watching ……and spitting ROTFL .”

    I so look forward to when next we meet Big Smile ; you are such a source of joy!

    Yeah, Sia likes to cover herself in public. She has worn a paper bag over her head while performing. And that little girl is the dancer from her controversial video.

    Our local main newspaper music reviewer/writer said that Sia should win several Grammy’s tonight, but that Sam Smith will take it all.

    I am watching because DH wanted to watch. Madonna was crap, lip syncing and 5000 dancers. Annie Lennox basically kicked her ass when she performed. I liked ELO but could have done without the other guy. Everyone else was either really bad or just uninteresting to me. So far anyway, but I am just up to Katy Perry.

    I have been watching the Grammy’s all night. Annie Lennox blew me away. But, overall, gotta say, what strikes me is that there is real singing going on all night. Let me say that again: Real. Singing.

    I really have liked the duets, sorry, skipped over the country acts, just cannot listen to it, 2 bars in and I’m changing channels, Hunger Games on another network, Rihanna with Sir Paul and Kanye stood out as well.

    Also, Smokey presenting with Nile, Katy and Ferras sitting together, and I’m reminded of our guy.

    Oh. Sorry. Pharrell is NOT the person who should have won for vocals. Should have been Sia. IMHO
