After wrapping up January with a benefit concert in New York City, Adam will have a couple of weeks off before his international Trespassing tour kicks off on February 17th in Seoul, South Korea. This show will be followed by six concerts in Japan, taking Adam and company up through the end of the month. The tour will continue in March through the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, Russia and finally to Helsinki, Finland on March 22. Still no word of any additional concerts beyond March 22, so it appears unlikely at this point that we will see a full Trespassing tour here in North America.

Disliked Adommy with a white hot passion. One reason may be is that I saw every performance and it got so repetitive and fake. Well, mostly fake, I guess.
Malaysia was quite mild. All tummies covered and no antics, but beautiful vocals.
Well, whatever he did in Malaysia, as far as I know, there were no untoward repercussions.
I agreed with Mils earlier about Johnnie and I agree more with her now. The problem I see is that I don’t think Johnnie can be toned down. I think they need to realize that they aren’t in West Hollywood anymore.

Peeking in before my surgery tomorrow, somehow I had an instinct that there was a discussion going on!
Here are my deux sous.
Totally agree that they aren’t in West Hollywood any more. The “choreo” here is almost identical to the youtube of their act in that gritty dive. There, it was totally appropriate. Here, not so much.
I actually think I would like it better with more boys and maybe some girls too. The two dancers just seem too intimate. But a crowd of boys and girls all being all over him, with a great set and costumes…it would be more Vegas and less West Hollywood. Low budget plus antics = underground gay bar.
My favorite sexy antics are the ones that are arch and with a wink… a sexy move followed by a big smile and a naughty look, like he was caught in the act. Melts me every time.
Hated the time he frankly masturbated the mike (is that even possible?) – luval, you and I had quite the offline conversation about that.
Adam doesn’t always know when he is crossing the line, and like others tonight I hope that he is getting input from management (can’t believe I am saying that, we criticize his management on a daily basis) and that it is sound, and that he pays attention.
Okay off to bed – surgery tomorrow morning – it’s been a rough couple of days preparing here (buying food that even DH can prepare…i.e. big jars of peanut butter…) and making sure my mother will be set for a while while I recover.

The only thing I can’t stand is violence and degradation. During the AMAs, the leashes together with the FYE lyrics were my biggest problem. I have much less of a problem with a bit of sexy/sleazy. I think 4 years of Adam watching have desensitized me completely to any gay antics. I see more than anything three friends putting on a show and being silly. Not even all that sexy because there is no tension whatsoever, just playing around. Agree with krad/luval about the occasional mic thing. Looked kind of stupid and vulgar to me. Other than that, I am usually not bothered by much of anything because I see it as part of a show and not to be taken too seriously.
Now this is just when I watch by myself. If I watched with a non-fan I would be very afraid they would interpret this differently and find it gross. So, yes, I share everybody’s concern about the effect on Adam’s career. It’s tricky, especially since being a good boy hasn’t been hugely successful either. He probably thinks he might as well have some fun and piss some people off in good rock-and-roll tradition.
In the end, we all know that Adam can be a bit of a crazy goose, but it’s part of what makes him interesting, it’s part of who he is. I can be boring all by myself, I want my pop stars to be wild and free.

Morning peeps! Just jumping into the pool to share my memory of the Manilla performance. He toned down the show perfectly. Dancers wore light colored(maybe nude colored) form fitting tops under their normal stage outfits. There was no kissing and very minimal if any gestures that could be interpretted as sexual. Fantastic vocals and tons of good energy. Adam is usually culturely aware and hopefully his management has shared the most important cultural issues. He is loved and has been to China and Russia before. Of course all of his Chinese performances have been on screen.
So, I watched the promo for the game and I’m not sure if Adam is saying he is one of the characters in the game or if his style represents the type of warrier spirit exemplified in the game. Help anyone????

A lot of discussion about the show. I am not a fan of mic blow job, but other things are fine with me. But what mostly came to my mind was that if there is one or two too campy moves in one of the songs (Fever), who will raise it up? There are many songs, stripped down part, and “normal” dancing too. People who are in the concert see the big picture, not details and probably everything goes on fast. It’s mostly fans who watch the close up vids. So I wouldn’t be so worried, especially if he tones down in certain places. Russian concerts are supposed to be family friendly, which includes request to tone down. I hope he doesn’t do anything to end up arrested there…
Hah, well my posting of the threesome gif clearly did not have the intended effect on mils. But that’s ok because it sparked an interesting discussion. I totally respect everyone’s viewpoint on this matter.
This is the way I see it. Adam is being himself on that stage; he let himself be pretty free in Japan. I loved it. I loved to see him smile so big and look so happy on that stage. He enjoyed throwing in a few antics with his friends, and the Japanese audiences reacted very positively. The antics made me smile and laugh, too. I didn’t see it as crass or crude because I see the wink, the joking eyes, and the smile on his face, letting us in on the fun.
In fact, this is a quote from Adam from a recent Chinese interview. In this quote, he’s talking about fashion. But replace the words “wear something” with “do something onstage,” and replace the word “fashion” with “pop music,” and I think the same sentiment applies. He’s just expressing himself and having fun and he’s trying to encourage us to lighten up, express ourselves, and have fun too.

I also think he’s very brave, because he’s not afraid to display gay sexuality on an international popstar stage. If it’s ok for straight women and men to display their sexuality on an international popstar stage, why do brief displays of gay sexuality “belong” only in an underground gay nightclub? Maybe Adam thinks that it’s time that brief little displays of gay sexuality see the light of day on the big pop stage and he’s willing to be the one to push that door open a little wider. I also think that everyone has different tastes and sensibilities and we all will like some sexy moves more and other sexy moves less. And that’s ok. I don’t love every move he puts out there, but I do enjoy a lot of them.
Also, I think it’s relevant to keep in mind that what I posted is a gif, which takes a brief moment in time (less than 5 seconds) and repeats it over and over to make it look like an extended series of moves. Even combining all of the campy antics with Terrance and Johnny in Fever together, it totals about 30 seconds, concentrated in one song, embedded in the larger context of a 90-minute show. And the entire show provides a very multi-dimensional view of Adam – fierce rock, fun pop, dance party, soulful ballads, campy antics, cabaret flair. As LadyNorth says, the audience sees the big picture, the moment passes quickly, and they can’t and don’t focus on the details. The close-up videos are watched (repeatedly) by hard-core fans like us, and rarely get more than a few hundred to a few thousand views. So I’m not worried about alienating large numbers of non-fans and potential fans.
But that said, it will be interesting to see what Adam will choose to do in China and Russia and what the reaction will be. He’s a smart guy, but he also can get caught up in the moment. And it remains to be see how and whether Johnny gets reined in. Haha.
