After wrapping up January with a benefit concert in New York City, Adam will have a couple of weeks off before his international Trespassing tour kicks off on February 17th in Seoul, South Korea. This show will be followed by six concerts in Japan, taking Adam and company up through the end of the month. The tour will continue in March through the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, Russia and finally to Helsinki, Finland on March 22. Still no word of any additional concerts beyond March 22, so it appears unlikely at this point that we will see a full Trespassing tour here in North America.

Above we see Adam performing at the Hennessy Artistry event on January 4th (photo courtesy of adam-pictures.com).

Adam will become busy during the second half of the month with 7 shows packed into a short time period, so enjoy the chat here and on those concert threads!

This week’s crossword is available to test your Adam knowledge. It’s theme is about an important event that finally brought some people together for the first time and proved that “We Are Family!”.

Ron, loved seeing you strut your stuff!

Thanks, AL and thanks to everyone who left such nice comments!

I’ll tell you, it’s a lot nicer to be strutting my stuff than singing the blues any day!

I’m very glad some of you enjoyed it. Heart

Sorry to interrupt Ron’s fashion channel ROTFL
In my travels through the internet I came upon this little soundcheck video. I love to see how Adam works, and his voice all by itself is just mindblowingly beautiful, so I thought I’d share http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9dGd9OKeSk

    Adam: @YetzyGlambert nope.

will check in later, just off to take my son to a football match, followed by my daughters rugby tournament!!

  12. luval says:

Thanks for that video, turquoisewaters. I love all the background stuff.

Nice to hear about the hair! But always sad to me to hear him talk about the “no Trespassing tour”. I sure hope he does some one-offs.

  13. ultimathule says:

But he did say next tour would have two albums of un-toured songs to choose from. That’s encouraging.

  14. riskylady says:

I love that video too, turquoisewaters. Thinking of tweeting it to Adam as suggestion for next album (more voice, less noise LOL).

Just dropping in to say how lovely your runway show was Ron. Oscars all around. Best “performance”, best art direction (hallway with mirrored table PERFECT), best music direction (ideal runway version of Billy Jean).

    Who was your cameraman? Wink

Star Star Star Star . I would have given it five Star ‘s if you had closed the door at the end. NVM, didn’t really want you to exit anyway.

  17. TLKC says:

I’m with you on the “one-ofs” luval. Hope one of them is in the North-Eastern seaboard so that we can have a road trip.

I was away for two days. When I went online this morning I couldn’t get the timelines straight. At first I thought Adam went to all those clubs in one night, LOL! Boy knows how to party, eh? Only a few more years of that, Mr. Thirty-one Years Old! Wait and see.

  20. eywflyer says:

So definitely no touring after the February/March dates already scheduled. Bummer – we’ve waited a long time around here for a tour and most of the small number of dates we do get will be in the middle of the night U.S. time. We will have threads for the Feb/Mar shows, but many of them won’t be updated in real-time as the show is in progress due to the time difference. Most will consist of posting the thread late the evening before then updating it the next day.

I don’t have a whole lot of hope for many one-off dates this summer either. Look at the time period from January 2011 to February 2012 when Adam was working on Trespassing. There were exactly two concerts – Moscow and Saint Agathe. Those were both appearance-fee events. By the way, the 2011 Saint Agathe festival was the only edition of that event, I read an article a number of months later saying that it ended up being a large financial loss for the city.

Even if he managed to get the next album finished in time for Black Friday 2013 (which would be pretty quick), I’d say we are looking at no sooner than spring 2014 for any potential U.S. tour, and that only if the new album sells better with better radio airplay than Trespassing did. Over a year away. Frown

I have to wonder – will Adam still have a solid audience to buy tickets for a tour another 18 months from now? His U.S. dates in 2012 sold ok, but there was a definite drop-off from the Glam Nation Tour. Some of the same venues that quickly sold out in Glam Nation did not sell out at all this time around. I know Fantasy Springs removed several sections of seats the day of the show to get to a sellout, and Pacific Amphitheater had quite a number of empty seats (after he had two sellouts there in 2010). I think the Winstar Casino show didn’t sell very well at all. Given how many fewer dates there were in 2012 vs. 2010, the drop in ticket demand has to be a concern for any potential tour planners.

  21. ultimathule says:

    Still wonder about #13.

  22. josephine says:

VANITY FAIR–Who is The New King of POP–“A FEW GOOD MEN”–
Zayn Malik (New Direction), Adam Lambert, Adam Levine, Justin Timberlake—on the cover!!!!! Don’t know how to bring over-We just have to have faith in the POWER of Adam–little steps at a time–with no radio play …he still is a force–

  23. riskylady says:

If Adam was able to get FYE together in a short time, while doing the AI tour, and he has already said he feels the need to get new material out, he can get third album out quickly. We don’t know his ideas, whether he can use songs he already has done (at least 30 – 40), what he’s been doing these past few weeks. And if anybody is good at staying in the public eye, it’s Adam. Not worried here.

  24. luval says:

Josephine…I think that Vanity Fair cover is a photoshop cover. Frown

  25. Ceddies says:

I’ve been just running thru the blog recently due to time constraints, but did I read that there has been some talk about Adam being on Idol for next season (as a judge maybe)? So, eywflyer, if that turns out to be true, do you think he could possibly then build a more solid audience should there be a tour with the next album–or a combo of album 2 and 3?

Ste. Agathe was a wonderfully electric happening (to my way of thinking anyway), and I was there. I saw Glam Nation 3 times, and it is still the one to be beat (in my book). I loved the theatricality of it. Now, Trespassing came along and I was at the Winstar show. There was not a whole lot of cohesiveness, although the vocals were probably the best I heard in any of the Trespassing shows. Maybe that was because I was there hearing it live.

So, I guess where I’m going with this is that I really hope that next time around, his material will be such that he can “put on a show” again–not just a concert. EITHER WAY, I’M STILL IN AND WILL REMAIN SO.

  26. josephine says:

BUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMERERERERER!!!!!! But it should be—–oh well–happy for a minute No Silly Smirk Wilt Curse Curse

    18 months from now?

    Who knows, my friend.

Anything can happen during those 18 months that could change everything.

We’ve been waiting a long time though, haven’t we, for that time when things will change to see Adam selling out Madison Square Garden?

I appreciate your comment and thoughts and understand your frustration.

By now, I thought he’d be selling out arenas too. Big Frown

But we have to hold onto and remember that Adam has made friends with so many people within the music industry. Or, if he hasn’t met them personally, they’ve made it known that they’d like to work with him.

I know that Adam’s voice … his voice … will ultimately be heard and appreciated.

  35. aely says:

Here is my take. I loved Adam on AI and went to 2 GN shows. Vegas and Winstar. After that I kind of lost track. I would have a been one of those people who didn’t know anything about what he was doing unless it was for Queen and the EMA’s. I knew that from Queen’s fan site ( it alluded to Adam ). Being out of the public eye for almost 2 years does not work. People forget. I think he is being re introduced to the public and doing more high profile gigs, like Divas and PLL can only help. Think about One Direction or Bieber, they put out album after album when they were hot. Why Adam’s people didn’t see this is beyond me but it is what it is.

I will say Winstar during GN had tons of billboards and commercials etc. The last one had NO promo. If I didn’t follow him I would have no clue.

So, I think he is rushing the next album to collect on his being more on the radar. Smart.

Do I think he is going away, NO! If Kris, Lee, etc can tour then so can Adam. Do I think he will be selling out arenas, NO.

But, I feel like he has more credibility than he has ever had before and he has big names behind him. If he didn’t RCA would have dropped him already. Overseas he is making a name for himself and he sounds like some other TV projects may be in the works. So, bottom line I believe he will be fine. Maybe never the level we all hope for but he will never stop singing and I for one will never stop supporting him.

  36. turquoisewaters says:

Well said, aely. Being a commercial success is a struggle for many excellent artists, Adam is in good company there. To me, Trespassing is a success for the simple reason that I love it. I’m quite confident he’ll find a way to continue to develop his career, and I am actually very curious what the next album will sound like.

  37. rs says:

I think that one of the problems with the Trespassing era was that it was a NON-Tour. He had a series of concerts, some alone and some where he shared the billing with others. With the GNT they planned a show months ahead of time, people could anticipate and plan where they wanted to see him, not to mention the fact that the show itself got better and better as it progressed. I know that I was waiting to plan a trip to the States until I knew his tour schedule. I wasn’t going to come all that way for one short radio concert. And I ended up not seeing anything! Frown I wonder how many other fans didn’t go to the shorter concerts because they were waiting for the “real” tour to come to their area. Florida Glamberts, for example. I believe that when a full fledged tour is announced, people will flock run to see him.

  39. cwm says:

Well said, turquoisewaters, I totally agree with everything you said.

Although Trespassing is a modest success commercially, it is a tremendous success artistically. And Adam knows this latter truth and it gives him strength and confidence. I love Trespassing with all my heart, and we know that Adam loves it too, and we know that he knows and appreciates how much his fans love it. That said, I do feel bad for all the peeps who never got to see the Trespassing songs live. The music is fantastic live. I’m so grateful that I saw the Freshtival show in DC and especially the Arizona State Fair show in Phoenix. The Phoenix show was a very special treat.

Fingers crossed that we get additional one-offs in the States that more people can see. But if not, I’m encouraged by Adam’s statement in his twitter party that he’s excited about the potential of touring in the future with even that much more material after album 3.

By the way, turq, thanks for posting that vid of Adam’s soundcheck! That was in DC at the Freshtival, and I watched that whole soundcheck in person! It was quite remarkable. Almost as enjoyable as the show itself. He worked through several songs – his voice was clarion clear, and he was meticulous about getting the sound just right for the various songs. It was fascinating to watch him at work. And it was ironic that after all of that attention to detail in the soundcheck, he still found the sound unsatisfactory in the actual show. Good sound technicians must be very difficult to come by at some venues! LOL

And ulti – all I can say is WOWZA to that pic that the grammy site posted. I’ll say it again. WOWZA. Here’s the link again, cuz it’s worth it. Precautionary warning: protective eye gear is recommended, especially for you, mils. In Love

Boy oh boy do I agree with you guys. riskylady at 11:27pm last night, Ron at 12:28am…rs at 03:29am…In fact, rs if you remember me posting here how many Trespassing cd’s I gifted…in every single case they did not know Adam had a new album out. And when I mentioned myself going to see him peeps said “I’ll wait for the actual tour”.

Yes, in a short period of time Adam has made many connections and has befriended so many important people. Whether this leads to anything who knows but they will remember him as the intelligent, nice person. Now those characteristics don’t sell records but could lead to other things.

Agree with aely too that I will always support him and never stop following him. I think we will be rewarded in the end. And I believe most of us agree that RCA did a piss poor job of promoting Trespassing. Won’t rehash the reasons but we all know. I’m sure his contract probably stipulates 3 albums but I wouldn’t be unhappy if he left them.

And by the way…GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!

  43. TLKC says:

Thanks for the financial info about the Ste-Agathe festival, eywflyer. I had read that the mayor lost the next election and now we know why. Too bad but nothing ventured.

I’m not sure about this but can’t help noticing that most of the big stars who released a cd when FYE came out, released another cd 18 months later in Spring 2011. A lot of them (e.g. Bruno, Beyonce) released one last Fall – again 18 months later. Both David Cook and Adam suffered from this “out-of-sight-out-of-mind” problem.

A Black Friday release would be very good for Adam, particularly since most of the biggies went out this Fall. Adam can pull it off if he starts the demos in early April and just keeps at it. More time than he had for FYE.

RE: Idol. Adam did say “maybe next year” so Idol might have left a door open when they told him no for this year. Hard to know if this was a matter of politeness or a definite pre-planning move but, regardless, Idol auditions start in September and his management would ask Idol for updates as they start planning the Fall (e.g. Queenbert.)

A simple query could start the rumour mill going inside Idol operations.

Not getting my hopes up but….getting my hopes up. Big Smile

  44. TLKC says:

I had a similar experience this week, luval. On Thursday night I was getting together a fundraiser for the next day and I mentioned to a couple of the volunteers that I was missing a chance to watch my favourite singer online. One of them asked who it was.

Well, turns out she loves him!!!! She thinks he’s a really hot, edgy bad boy (her words.) She had no idea that he had a cd out. Going to give one to her and, if Queenbert comes to town, she’s game to join us.

On the downside, there was a guy sitting with us and he can’t stand him! Adam – love him or hate him, nothing in between.

  45. TLKC says:

RE: concerts. If Adam has some “one-of” concerts, it’s more likely that we will all meet up at one. Don’t know about you guys but half the fun is meeting up with y’all and having a major get-together.

The less we get, the more we treasure it. In that sense, Ste-Agathe was a major moment.

Don’t worry luval, Ron and I are going to work on his passport just in case Adam doesn’t cross the border.

  46. luval says:

It was probably all those other acts at Ste. Agathe that were the downfall. Grin Now had they sold as many tickets to those acts as Adam did it might have had a different ending. I think people just funneled their money to the one act they really wanted to see!! This is my story and I’m sticking to it. Giggle

  47. luval says:

Thanks, TLKC! Now I’m off to e-mail my local casino about booking Adam. Tour or no tour I am still gonna try. He can leave home his dancers and backup singers! That will save money.

Was thinking of this since the benefit the other night and how great Adam was with that super band. Do you think Adam is stubborn enough to say to RCA…”I am keeping MY band…I will not tour without MY band”. Or am I way off base?

  48. ultimathule says:

One of my six daughters (all Adam fans in differing degrees) told me of a dream she had last night. She was visiting him in a place (warm) – beautiful home – large windows with the light pouring in. She was sitting on a couch playing with his two young boys, and she and Adam were laughing together watching them.

There were other people in the room, but can’t remember who they were.

My daughter’s a home-schooler – loves children and is marvelous as a teacher. (Also said that one of the little boys was slightly feminine in gestures and that she and Adam laughed about that, too.)

  49. luval says:

ultimathule Love to hear dream stories like that. Not once have I ever had Adam appear in a dream. Frown

  50. ultimathule says:

I haven’t either, luval – and last night had great difficulty sleeping – tossed and turned worrying about his career. Brain wouldn’t turn off.

Reading the interesting posts here today, think I’ll sleep better tonight.
