2014 wraps up this month and what a year it has been. We did not get a new album but many of us got to see Adam and Queen perform live and will see them again in the UK and Europe. Adam still found time to record “Imagine” for UNICEF and starting December 1, also be part of “giveStars“ where all proceeds go to charity. Throw in a Classic Rock Award for Band of the Year and an appearance on the UK X Factor and I would say that it was a pretty good year for Adam and ALL his fans. December will probably be quieter as he prepares for the Winter 2015 Q+AL tour but we have plenty to keep us going until the tour starts. Here’s hoping that some news about the new album will be Adam’s year-end gift to us! He’s the gift that keeps on giving!! And speaking of gifts, how about spending NYE with Queen and Adam in London! What a way to ring in the New Year!!!

    It’s interesting that he would diss the show ( format ) that he has used as a platform to sell his album and singles. Hah. Guess everybody uses everybody after all.

    I like him, haven’t bought his music, but have several things available to me that I listen to and enjoy. He’s just quite young, and needs to possibly develop a better filter. Instead of dissing the hand that feeds you. ( I know, XFactor isn’t the only hand that feeds him, don’t throw tomatoes at me ). LOL.

    @TLKC On one hand I think I agree that people may not like what you sing after the reality show is over.. Adam wanted to go more into current popdance in his first and even 2nd album, something he did not really do on American Idol… But to say that something like X factor is damaging, sounds exaggerating to me.

    Then again.. I have seen many artists doing covers from other artists.. e.g The song used as background music for Adam’s Idol audition is sung by Coldplay but it is originally from the Pet Shop Boys… so doing covers is not really a big no-no.. I am sure that the contestants on reality show sometimes have a say in the song they want to cover.

    Talking about cruiseships and singing covers… I have a bit of a feeling that he is taking a jab at Adam, or maybe I am just too protective of Adam….

    ETA: I wonder if they ask Adam to comment, will Adam refer them to his “Ring of Fire” performance ? LOL…

    @asifclueless.. Your most boring NYE (being in bed by 10 pm maybe ??) will be a good preparation for the most wonderful 1st January you will have in years… Grin

    Then again, those old folks may have a lot of life experience and wisdom so maybe you can tap into that while caressing their family dog…

    I like Sam Smith…but he’s not adverse to singing covers…I have a cover of him singing When I was your man by Bruno Mars….(its really lovely btw)..

    I too wondered about the cruise ship remark, Axxxel…its not the normal ‘platform’ someone would say for a singer to use, is it?.

    About reality singing contests…
    Honestly speaking, I consider them a game show first and only a talent show later. I was very pleasantly surprised that Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have such success… Never thought that a reality show can get me passionately hooked until I saw Adam’s face and performances on internet.

    ETA: I don’t remember what terms Simon Cowell or other reality show judges use to indicate that a potential finalist has only a certain amount of talent..

    is it wedding singer ? or also cruiseship singer.. still it is a coincidence Sam mentioned that.

    We have got our Expat tv back so I should be able to watch the NYE show live in the morning…just need to figure out how to get it onto our new big tv screen…and hope that everyone else stays in bed so I can watch it in peace!!!

    Oh man, HK, if I could get the NYE show live on my big TV, I would turn it up to 11 and blast it so loud it would wake up the neighbors!!!!!

    Seating capacity is 2,630. Tickets have been on sale since mid-November.

    The box office phoned today and told me there are 2,626 seats as yet unsold.

    Turns out, TLKC bought 4 tickets.

    So if anyone would like to come up for the show, it appears there are still some good seats available.

    Hi nkd Waving I was just thinking about you a couple of days ago and figured that you were too busy with the holiday season to come here. Glad to see you back.

    I will try and join you all for the NYE concert but it is very late here (between 1:00am and 3:00am) and Jan 1st isn’t a holiday here. European concerts are usually at good times for me as opposed to the North American ones, but since the UK is 2 hours behind us, it will be late. I will try and stay up.

    I called him. I took his nonstop hysterical laughter that followed as a “no” and eventually hung up.

    What completely baffles me is I’ve been doing this online karaoke for a year-and-a-half now. I have 10,730 views on YouTube and 5,913 views on Soundcloud and … I haven’t been discovered!!!

    I was hoping to be the next Justin Bie … no, cancel that!!
