2014 wraps up this month and what a year it has been. We did not get a new album but many of us got to see Adam and Queen perform live and will see them again in the UK and Europe. Adam still found time to record “Imagine” for UNICEF and starting December 1, also be part of “giveStars“ where all proceeds go to charity. Throw in a Classic Rock Award for Band of the Year and an appearance on the UK X Factor and I would say that it was a pretty good year for Adam and ALL his fans. December will probably be quieter as he prepares for the Winter 2015 Q+AL tour but we have plenty to keep us going until the tour starts. Here’s hoping that some news about the new album will be Adam’s year-end gift to us! He’s the gift that keeps on giving!! And speaking of gifts, how about spending NYE with Queen and Adam in London! What a way to ring in the New Year!!!

Nobody else here has commented about Joe Cocker. I loved his gravelly voice. 180 degrees from Adam’s smooth trained voice, but so full of soul and emotion. I just have to bring this vid of You Are So Beautiful from his last concert, at the Hammersmith Apollo last year, the same place where we first saw Adam and Queen performing in London.

I’ve just got back from seeing Phantom of the Opera for the first time…..really enjoyed it, the staging was fantastic, great cast, beautiful music….ending seemed a bit sudden though.

Here’s a funny story, especially for those who met my hubby at Toronto I. Hubby’s work has a Christmas luncheon at the office every year and they exchange joke gifts. Hubby came home all excited to show me what he got – a Queen + Adam Lambert T-shirt!! I only wish it was in my size. Not sure where they got it- the main pic is Adam in his black sleeveless top, holding the fringe jacket in his right hand. And the concert dates on the back are weird – they start with 7/1/14 San Jose and end with 8/26/14 Sydney! Very strange but I’m happy to have it all the same.
Sparkle – At the L.A. Forum concert there were lots street vendors selling “non official” tee shirts. I’m sure they don’t pay much attention to accuracy when the make them.

Besides the 1:00 minute, the second long mention about Adam starts at 12:38… but my favorite part is when Brian mentioned how Adam has transformed (14:39) into a more confident entertainer… that he has grown into the part (14:52).

Here’s one of my faves of Joe Cocker. But, of course, my all time favorite is of John Belushi and him side by side. I remember it live, so funny. I was having a sleepover at my cousin’s house, and we were just becoming music aware, and teen aware, also around the same time as BoRap. What an exciting time to be becoming a huge music fan for life.

That was a funny story about the T-Shirt being a “white elephant ” gift!! I remember at both Toronto shows there were a lot of fake shirts for sale outside the ACC. They had wrong dates and different pictures.
I still wish I had bought a piece of fan art, like one of those drawings. Some were quite good.
