2014 wraps up this month and what a year it has been. We did not get a new album but many of us got to see Adam and Queen perform live and will see them again in the UK and Europe. Adam still found time to record “Imagine” for UNICEF and starting December 1, also be part of “giveStars“ where all proceeds go to charity. Throw in a Classic Rock Award for Band of the Year and an appearance on the UK X Factor and I would say that it was a pretty good year for Adam and ALL his fans. December will probably be quieter as he prepares for the Winter 2015 Q+AL tour but we have plenty to keep us going until the tour starts. Here’s hoping that some news about the new album will be Adam’s year-end gift to us! He’s the gift that keeps on giving!! And speaking of gifts, how about spending NYE with Queen and Adam in London! What a way to ring in the New Year!!!

BBC (British Broadcasting Company) have the 2 main tv channels BBC1 and 2, then BBC 3,4,news,parliament,CBBC, and Cbeebies on digital.
It also runs 10 national radio stations, plus 49 other local stations.
all in all, being broadcast live on BBC and getting onto their radar has got to be a good thing.

I read the comments under the Queen Official YT and it is really so hard for me to understand the people who are so critical of Adam as well as Brian and Roger for daring to call themselves Queen and continueing to performing after Freddie is gone. They seem to fear that if someone else can successfully fit in, it will detract something from the myth of the great irreplaceable Freddie. Don’t they recognise honor and homage when they see it? And I especially don’t get those people who don’t like his voice (not just Freddie fans) since for me it is so rich, warm, exciting, pitch perfect, etc. but then I guess that there is no accounting for taste. The Israeli version of The Voice was just won by a guy who sings in a Middle Eastern style that grates on my ears so much that I litterally can’t listen to him sing and have to turn the sound down when he comes on.
Think you hit the nail on the head, rs – believe those critics do know how good Adam is and are uneasy about it –
I am such a dolt. I get BBC America on my cable system. Is that anything to do with BBC 1. And is the NYE concert being televised? Not a livestream on a computer. That’s my main question.
HK fan…it’s less than a month from the concert and the airline that I fly on is almost sold out in both directions. I am not surprised because it’s over a major holiday.

I enlightened them. And referred them to videos. They agreed that he probably has more international appeal than appeal here.
The daughters, who live in Manhattan, and are trying to be in the music scene, do know him. They hear his music at times in clubs, and thinks he’s gorgeous. So, I’ll take that. They are young and gorgeous and are soooo NY.
BBC America is part of BBC overall but not the same programming. Don’t know if they will carry the NYE show.

Much as I would love a shower selfie, I don’t see how that campaign will end the stigma about HIV. To me, it just furthers that stereotype of bare-chested gays. Somehow I suspect A may not participate, at least to that extent. Ron, Al, care to weigh in? Am I being bigoted??

Nothing will end the stigma against HIV/AIDS. IMHO.
But, if seeing healthy young gay people doing a naked selfie helps promote the idea that you CAN be healthy and gay, then I see no harm in it.
Believe me, and I’m straight, however, as a health care provider, even in hospitals, STILL now to this day, people are terrified by AIDS.
So many people associate “gay” with the threat of illness, still.
It makes me sick. Honestly. My stomach turns when I see or hear this attitude. I recently had an AIDS patient, terminal, I sat and held his hand and looked in his eyes, and was one of the only staff members who did this. Everybody else just got out of his room as fast as they could. Every single day. In 2014. He was also transgendered, not surgically yet though. I was the ONLY staff member who called him by his trans name, a female name. It made him weep. It made me cry with him. I’ll never forget him.
I’m not tooting my own horn. I’m just saying that there is still a huge stigma and a huge fear.
So, if a few gay people post some healthy clean shower selfies, all power to ’em.
If Adam joined in, it would be unlike him, however, if he did, it would be mis-interpreted, for sure. Unless a bunch of other celebrities did it too.

Thanks for your post, mils. I am lucky in that the hospital I work, where we get many hiv positive patients, that they are treated no different from any other patient. Even a transgender one every now & then. Most are poor, some homeless, many drug addicts. Never saw one that looked like shower guy. I think it’s because with the drugs used today many can live normal lives…with no one knowing they have HIV. Of course these are the people that can afford the meds. Very expensive.
Too much naked around – destroys all the mystery and the real fun – nothing else to discover – lol –
