   We had a run in with one dr when my son was 12…..he took ill and went down hill fast, by the end of the same day he was in intensive care and expected to go into repiratory failure at any time…this dr basically said to us, ” we could incubate him, but given the way he is, maybe we shouldn’t “..i.e in veiled tones (or not so veiled) given that he’s so disabled, its not worth it, lets just let him die ….
   A couple of months later when my son had recovered and we had a follow up appointment, we had a word with the said Dr. And my husband asked him if they normally gave the choice to parents whether to incubate, and he said no, we would automatically incubate and resucitate. Hubby said, well don’t you ever put a parent in that position again, every child deserves the same treatment and care regardless of their disability.The Dr said that now he could see James (was very bright, alert and smiling that day), he wouldn’t have done it!

    lol, mils. You are correct about her marrying the creepy guy, etc. but apparently she’s changed her life around if you read other sites on the internet.. Decided to get rid of the blonde hair, is vegetarian now. If only the boobs could be “taken care of” it would give her more credibility.

    eta: Am “editing” just to say there is nothing wrong with larger boobs…just the way they are put out there! There’s classy and there is…..not classy.

    Speaking of Queen/WWRY etc. Saturday I took most of my family to see WWRY at the beautiful Arsht Center in downtown Miami – 3 sons, daughter, two daughters-in-law, 3 teen grand kids and 6-yr-old twins plus hubby, 13!! I was a little anxious because the show is 170 minutes long, but everyone LOVED it and twins didn’t get restless or bored (even though they mainly wanted WWRY which was almost at the end.
    The cast was wonderful, and the bells and whistles they added for the US tour are just great. I didn’t like the lead singer’s voice that much, but my kids did, and he did a great job. Of course, in my head I was hearing Adam with his flourishes, and comparing the show to the London version. Have to say, it was just delightful!
    There was a moment that gave us all goosebumps, so beautiful, when the cast suddenly discovers part of a long lost song and breaks into that first verse of Bohemian Rhapsody, “Is this the real life, is this just fantasy…”
    If it comes to a place near you, I recommend it!

    We are sill trying to crawl out from under the snow, which is still on the ground, melting very slowly and turning to a very dangerous layer of ice every night. A woman I don’t know from an apartment building across the street saw me trying to dig my car out of the snow (as an apartment dweller I don’t own a shovel) and she came down to help me with some garden tools. Not a single man came to help, although one did offer useless advice, lol. We finally cleared enough snow and ice for me to be able to move the car. Hurray for girl power! No dairy products, eggs or vegetables have been delivered to the stores (I stocked up before he storm, but families and old people are having a hard time). Schools will only open late tomorrow morning, and public transportation is only partially running, stopping at 8pm. The roads into the city are one big traffic jam. 6 thousand families still without electricity (mostly rural villages) and just tonight they are getting organized to bring in generators. cwm, you said that you were digging out after a 10 day storm so this might seem minor, but this is the Middle East!

    Mils, last night you had a post that you were listening to something and it was so good. When I went to the web site there was a commercial playing and it was so entertaining in a strange way that I watched the whole thing. It was for a product called Poo-pourri (a toilet spray} I was so amused I almost forgot to watch the band video and I’m not one who is usually amused by bathroom humor. Glad about Sauli new contract but I had heard rumors. Mils, we may get to see Adam and Queen as it’s looking more promising all the time. They would I’m sure come to the upper Midwest as last time they played they in the US they did well there. Kiwi, I really enjoyed that audition. Talent can come from unexpected places. And last but not least Happy Birthday to Texas and Aely .
