After a very eventful past month for Adam and his fans, December has arrived. Adam enjoyed quite a bit of publicity during November, including an epic performance with Queen at the EMAs, a Rolling Stone interview, a mentoring appearance on Majors & Minors, and his return to the AMA stage (unfortunately only as a presenter this time around). Still no new music for us to enjoy with our holiday feasts, but all the signs currently point to the lead single from Adam’s new album being released in January.

Update 7 PM 12/14: as per Adam’s tweets today, “Better Than I Know Myself”, the lead single from his new album “Trespassing”, will be released on Tuesday, December 20th!

    I took a peek over at IdolForums and found that “Glamazon” has spilled a lot of tidbits. He says he’s an intern at a radio station and has heard BTIKM. Don’t know how legit it all is, but he seems like he might be on the up and up. We’ll find out soon enough! Here are snippets of what he said:

    The real song kicks the crap out of that demo. It’s fiery, fast paced and Adam’s voice is bananas bat-crap crazy on it. It’s gonna sound AMAZING on radio. Really throbbing, pulsating beat throughout.

    To the person who asked how it sounded in comparison to wwfm?
    Lol a COMPLETELY different song. Very very uptempo and dancey.

    Brilliant and the production is freaking ON POINT. I really like it and the reception so far has been universally acclaimed by all the other dj’s US and worldwide.

    Im a guy by the way…. and I’m not asking you to believe me. I’m just letting you know how the single sounds and how I felt about it. It’s a really DAMN good song and I thought you all would get excited about it. No harm, I come in peace original.

    With the new album, I can guarantee that Adam’s fanbase is gonna consist of mostly Gaga fans. TRUST ME. He’s really going to blow up in 2012.

    Got no news on album release date though just that we’re getting an album preview to play over the airwaves during release week for promo.

    The song is prety bananas and you’re going to be surprised. And to the people wondering how I know if it’ll be a hit, well when receiving a BS in Radio Broadcasting and Mass Comunications you’re obligated to take a Musicology and Recording Industry Management course. So trust me, I know a hit when I see a hit. And the fact that we weren’t spinning ANY Adam records except WWFM, tells you that this is an amazing single. Considering we’re submitting it to our Radio A Playlist, which is the most anicipated and hyped singles (Born This Way/Hold It Against Me and Beyonce’s DREADFUL Run the world (girls). So please enjoy the song and thank you for your time.

    Lol I’m a 21 year old black Kanye West fan and I LOVE Adam Lambert. I love and worship Freddie Mercury and Queen/David Bowie/Annie Lennox/Britney Spears/Kanye West/Madonna/Eminem/Scissor Sisters and Mika heart.

    Adam is truly an amazing singer and the EMA’s truly became a turning point in his career. He’s being treated as a Rihanna/Katy Perry type celebrity. not necessarily on the Gaga/beyonce/britney level yet but he’s on his way up. Just be patient and get ready for the radio takeover.

    Sure Fire Winners (vocals) + Madonna’s Hung Up + Hold It Against Me. That’s the best way to describe it.

    The vocals make the song stand out. It’s purely amazing. Dr Luke is the freaking KING. Wait until you hear the how the vocals and production mesh so perfectly. It also kind of reminds me of Rihanna’s Where Have You Been except with a much better voice of course and his swagger is off the hook.

    Ok, I’m officially excited. Except that I was already excited. So now I’m officially even more excited! Grin

    I really like it and the reception so far has been universally acclaimed by all the other dj’s US and worldwide.

    Assuming all is in the up and up with our buddy, Glamazon, this has to be the most important and my favorite part of his glowing tribute to AFL’s new music. I know I have said this before and am now sounding like a broken record… However, my biggest hope is that all of these complimentary DJs will play Adam’s new music right out of the gate this time around. Glamberts, such as myself, should not have to beg for radio air play like we had to last time.

    Just got back early from a neighborhood Christmas party. The woman who had the party works for the governor so there were quite a few politico types there. No chance for an Adam moment. Just lotsa free food! LOL.

    Glamazon continued to chat over at Idolforums. Many were skeptical, but he kept trying to convince them that he’s legit. This is what he said, don’t know whether it’s true or not, but is certainly interesting if it is:

    I just got the heads up that a DJ in NY leaked the single release date to a blog. And his ass has been TERMINATED.

    [Question from a poster: You mentioned earlier that your station only played WWFM. Was there backlash because of the AMA back then? Was it that he is an American Idol artist? Was it because he was a ‘newbie’? Any and all background history would be great!]

    I got there Spring 2010 and around that time WWFM started getting great exposure, like AI and such. So we decided to start playing it and then the requests came FLOODING in. And I hate to say it, but sadly the reason why FYE was apparently banned was because radio didn’t need a “male version of gaga” at the time. And so when WWFM debuted radios were still kind of iffy on whether to play it, but ultimately once all the promotion and acclaim started pouring in we had no other choice. We even started playing If I Had You as well.

    I’m expecting everyone to know it [the release date] by monday.

    And another bit. We were originally going to play both Sleepwalker and Fever last fall, however we were told since Rihanna’s Loud campaign had started we had to add her songs Only Girl and What’s My Name to the playlist and those two slots were filled so we had to take off Fever/Sleepwalker since they were not going to be pushed by a radio promotional tour and Rihanna’s singles are always on our Radio A Playlist. Just something to think about.

    [After this post, there was much wondering about authenticity of Glamazon because SW and Fever were never released as singles or sent to US radio]

    Let me clarify the Fever/Sleepwalker issue. The songs were NOT, and I repeat NOT released as singles. HOWEVER, we were planning on spinning the both of them in the fall since they were being released abroad. Radio stations have options of what to play or not just like a club DJ. There were people who called and were wondering about it and one of my co-workers did research and said that Adam Lambert was releasing new singles and we were planning on giving BOTH songs airplay time. Seriously. Like I stated before, Rihanna, who’s a top-tier artist gets top billing airplay. Meaning her dual singles (Only Girl and What’s My Name) HAD to be released. And our playlist was full which led to the canning of Fever/Sleepwalker. I hope I helped you to understand what I’m saying. Not all songs that are played on the radio are singles. For example, we play the HELL out of Adele’s Turning Tables and Bruno Mars’ Marry You because they are popular fan choices. Understand now?

    ONCE AGAIN!! Sleepwalker was obviously a fan favorite and we were going to give it some airplay along with Fever. I already stated it was NOT a single. Radios get orders from the upper hubs on what to play or not. Another example, we were told to play Britne’s new song Criminal, however listeners said it was too slow and dull so we canned it. We’ve also spun Madonna’s Give me all your love (DEMO) to get a listener reaction as apart of our “Love it or Leave it” segment. And we aren’t HUGE like Kiss or Z100 of course but we’re pretty big in our local area.

    So, I’m bringing this here because it’s interesting information. Don’t know at this point whether it’s true or not, but if some of the things Glamazon said about BTIKM turn out to be true, then some of this might be true too????

    But since we seem to enjoy speculating here, I thought it was worth bringing over for ponderment. Smile

    I’m not sure about this Glamazon person either, but it sure has been fun and interesting keeping up with the latest! We will get the single release eventually, but it does seem that something is up in the next week or so judging by what has been spilled by radio, Shoshana, and RCA peeps.

    AQD has the Director’s Cut of the EMA performance to download – Media Fire. It’s terrific – so much clearer and with better audio. It’s the one I would see intermittently when I went into the MTV site – extra shots of Adam during TSMGO – and the end where you see his entire figure – it doesn’t slide to just May. So happy to have it.

    Please listen to this guy @markgilroymusic that we “met” on twitter after the EMAs who was raving about Adam and who wrote a really fab article afterwards. Very nice covers, soothing voice. Thank you riskylady for the link. A young Elton type voice. I really really like the covers on the tracklist on the right side of the page. The vids on the left are more upbeat.
    Those covers are very calming while we wait patiently for Adam’s single to drop. All this flailing is not good for the heart. Have to save strength and fortitude for when the single does drop. Then we’ll have to contain ourselves somehow. hahaha

    Nude beach…hmmm, not for Adam. And frankly I should think the sand would be uncomfortable. I’ve done topless beaches and that was very nice, wish Americans were more open-minded. So lovely to not worry about tan lines or uncomfortable straps. Wink

    Re Luval‘s post about hype…gotta agree. BUT I don’t think the hype is going much past the already fandom. Doubt that anyone else is really hearing it/searching it out/hanging on every syllable of it the way we are.
    Would be delighted if it is true that RCA has made Adam a priority.

    cwm Was going through the BFM album full tracks on youtube and noticed “Just the Way It Is” was on it. Never heard of it before last night. Searched on youtube for other versions and there it was. Really liked the song and Adam’s singing – very heartfelt. Wonder if he had a hand in writing it.

    I don’t think Christmas in Finland has been addressed here although I did post a question a while back wondering if Adam was going to Finland with Sauli. I’ll bet he will. Meet the family and all that. Although we may not hear it from Adam but in a Sauli blog I think. (after the fact, of course)

I can’t help but think he’s so emotional in this as he’d recently broken up with Brad and maybe wants him to come home. I know that break up was hard for him. Love his vocals on Just the Way It Is, but not a fan of the song. Thanks for the download of the EMA’s Director’s Cut as is the best I’ve seen. Trying not to get caught up in the new singles hype, I’ll just wait and see for myself. If Adam’s singing it it will be good, but I don’t want it to just be good, I want it to be mind blowing, chart topping, world dominating, etc. I’ll leave the list up to my concert pal,Mils.

    Glamberts, here is a little summary about what have I gotten from the marketing & PR manager of the hungarian Sony Music. Not big news, just small informations, but they helps to see the picture little bit clearer.

    First I’ve wrote him about the release date in January, he laughed on that, and asked me where did I get that? Because, they never thought about January, from the beginning, they wanted to release the single in December. It was a big surprise for me, since we all read those tweets from the UK journalists & managers, we heard about the Sunday Times article. But according to the hungarian Sony, it seems Europe calculated with December.

    I’ve asked him about the news from Germany, which surfaced yesterday, the single & album release dates in March. He said, he doesn’t know anything about this, probably those dates means that the physical copies of the single will be released at that time. But he is 100% sure, the digital version will be available much earlier. He didn’t tell me the exact date, but said, before Christmas, also he added that the informations about releasing next Friday, are not true. (For some reason everybody is all around this “big things happening on Friday” thing on my feed).

    I’ve tried to gain some more little informations, like maybe he knows some new song titles, or has he heard the new single, Better Than I Know Myself, but the answer was no for both. So I’ve thanked for these, and said goodbye.

    I know some of you are not interested in the hype, but I need some excitement and speculation in my life! It’s kind of like a game of clue! Smile

    When I was perusing iTunes the other night, I went back to Take One to compare and read comments. There was one quote from Eber that a couple of songs were lovely, but that they refused Adam’s suggestions on phrasing/arrangements. I seriously believe “Just the Way It Is” must be one, because his voice is undeniably lovely as always (ARE THOSE PEOPLE STUPID OR WHAT? RIGHT UNDER THEIR NOSE, AND THEY’RE SHOPPING TO OTHER VOCALISTS????) but the phrasing could use some help, and he does sound restrained to me. Ripped it (oh, yes!!)
    Did you guys watch that video with Steve Cooke, Monte, others talking about making the songs? Some of the fotos in there might be copyright issues against THEM, lol. And talking about Adam (because he’s the only thing that could sell this) in his absence – that made me madder than anything I have seen yet.
