After a very eventful past month for Adam and his fans, December has arrived. Adam enjoyed quite a bit of publicity during November, including an epic performance with Queen at the EMAs, a Rolling Stone interview, a mentoring appearance on Majors & Minors, and his return to the AMA stage (unfortunately only as a presenter this time around). Still no new music for us to enjoy with our holiday feasts, but all the signs currently point to the lead single from Adam’s new album being released in January.

Update 7 PM 12/14: as per Adam’s tweets today, “Better Than I Know Myself”, the lead single from his new album “Trespassing”, will be released on Tuesday, December 20th!

    All three recent posts:

    Arguments, liquor, police involved while visiting your boyfriend’s family. Wonderful. I have nothing else to say right now.

    Wonderful introduction to the family. Adam has to be hating himself right now.

    He is sometimes his own worst enemy.

    Definitely, and Adam has said this several times.

    This really concerns me. With his jealousy, his short fuse, he had better get his drinking under control. Remember he was also rumored to have made an ass of himself at Gaga’s Bday party too. I smell trouble!

    Jealousy…the unnamed third party, outside the bar, seems to indicate that jealousy could have been an issue, especially after something similar (but no fight) recently here in the US. Drinking…we’ve had this conversation a few times. I am one of those who would like to see him cut back on the booze, he is getting too old for us to say it is just a young guy thing.

    But the short fuse…I am thinking that this was a really bad combination of booze, jet lag, jealousy, jet lag, exhaustion, nerves about coming to Finland to meet the family, jet lag, nerves about the album, jet lag, nerves about maintaining a relationship with Sauli during promo and tour…the perfect storm.

    Emotional sh*tstorm re professional and private life all wrapped up in booze and jet lag.

    Guessing that Adam is going through a period of self-hate right now. Guessing he is not looking forward to what his dad will have to say. Or Neil. Or his mom’s disappointment.

    I really, really hope that this will be allowed to die down quickly and that the industry doesn’t draw a hasty conclusion about Adam’s temper. Certainly other celebs have done worse, but Adam is put under a closer microscope than others.

    (Jlurk, your post was only the Finnish version.)

    Feeling so, so bad for Adam now. Cry

    ETA: for some reason the most recent posts did not show up until after I posted this (I think my issue, not the site) so this is a little bit “out of the loop” re facts revealed. Still have same reaction, though.

    On a more positive note, albeit somewhat OT:
    In the Navy, when a ship comes back from deployment, a “first kiss” is raffled off to the crew for the first sailor to debark early and kiss his/her significant other on the pier. Yesterday, it was a female sailor who won the “first kiss” and it was her girlfriend (also a sailor, on another ship) who was waiting for her on the pier. They kissed to cheers from the crowd!
    They have been dating for two years, met in boot camp, but hid their relationship until the end of DADT.
    It gets better. Grin

    Kradamour, my thoughts went to Leila as well. These sorts of incidents are very difficult for proud parents to digest. I’m certain we can count on her being very supportive – parenting doesn’t stop at any “magical” age, as I’ve learned. I suppose I will be parenting ’til the day I die!

    I just posted on MJ’s and came over here. I’ve only looked at this screen/page so far, but, Kradamour, you and I have similar thoughts. Very similar.

    I have some more catching up to do.

    I’m thinking our boy needs to assess some anger/jealousy/where am I when I get emotional/impulsive/keep it private and away from the press/and alcohol issues.

    IMHO.

    I saw the article front page on Yahoo also, but after reading all the comments and other articles it looks like it’s not as bad as it sounds. He better make a statement soon tho before all the rumors start. He really does need to check his drinking. Booze and jealousy do NOT mix. All I can say is Oh, Adam…… Frown

    Glambotgram is correct, this will not be swept under the rug. Any radio PDs out there who wrote Adam off after the AMAs and might be thinking of giving him spins again now have a convenient reason not to. Great job Adam.

    RCA is probably wondering whether they should continue pouring money into this or just cut their losses at this point. Adam can certainly expect to get called on the carpet when he returns to LA. All of the work by Adam and others to rehab his image with the general public (outside of the Idol/Adam bubble) after the AMAs – blown away in one night. Great job Adam.

    Well, while I sincerely wish this hadn’t happened, I don’t think it’s spells the E-N-D for Adam and RCA. People make mistakes. I understand he’s a “celebrity” and all, but bigger celebs have made much bigger mistakes and survived just fine. I’m not worrying.

    I agree in principle, but he is a celebrity who is definitely working with a handicap (gay, not yet well known outside of the fandom, no mega hits yet, AMA debacle in the fairly recent past). He is pretty new out the gate and simultaneously a little long in the tooth. Hoping his label will give him the benefit of the doubt and continue to support him strongly.

    Sad. Disappointed. Some of the fun just died. He needs to grow the f*ck up. Turning 30 soon.

    So, his reputation is once again tarnished. People still remember the AMA’s and talk about it. The pap take down in Florida made headlines. The Gaga party made headlines, and entertainment news shows, smoking the blunt in Amsterdam on stage was entertainment news too.

    It won’t matter how much charity money he raises. It won’t matter how many people love him, adore him, praise him, how sweet and funny and charming he is in interviews, none of it will matter.

    The general public will view him as a troubled guy who drinks and fights in public. Oh. And call him many names.

    Sad.

    Thoughts by Q3 – And I agree.

    I’ll be really brief — and this is truly a first reaction. I have only read a couple of articles.

    1. This story will last for a few days then fade away to become an interview question for a while.

    2. I love Sauli — and his blog was perfect.

    3. Adam will be OK. This will not hurt music sales — but in an odd way may help sales.

    So, over on MJ’s, many people are posting that Twitter is exploding, he’s trending worldwide, and that it should lead to:

    Increased visibility and sales.

    What a crazy world.

    I still think he needs to re-assess his anger/jealousy/alcohol use. I have said it many times over the last couple of years. Many excuses have been given, “I always have a glass of something in my hand at an event”, by some of us here. Etc.

    I’m NOT pointing fingers. Just saying that I do think we’ve seen him have public anger and get in trouble more than once, all involving alcohol. Remember, they were having cocktails on that beach in Florida too!

    ITA. I hate the negative headlines involving Adam and there have been several of them. He is getting a bit old to be involved in any kind of “skirmishes” especially if/when involving alcohol. In these instances he always seems a bit immature and yet in so many other ways he is mature. He needs to throughly think through this part of his image if he is to succeed to being a superstar. Seems like he constantly is shooting himself in the foot. And it should stop NOW. Doesn’t mean I don’t love him but it does make me sad.

    Blackout. I’ve been known to enjoy a “drink or two” Wink but to drink alcohol to that extent, where one doesn’t remember ones own actions, is serious stuff. Adam has to grab hold of a handle and get a firm grip!

    I don’t know why he admitted this publicly. I don’t believe him when he says he’s laughing about it now. That makes him come across as completely irresponsible.

    Hopefully this is just be a minor bump in the road that will soon be smoothed over.

    I think it’s becoming quite clear that Adam has a significant drinking problem. How many times now has a negative incident occurred where alcohol was involved? Pretty much every one of them other than the AMAs.

    Ron, that was also my first thought after seeing Adam’s tweet – irresponsible. He’s damn lucky that no one got hurt and no one is pressing charges (at least as far as we know).

    My last ex-boyfriend would behave in a similar manner: drink too much, behave badly, then try to laugh it off after he sobered up. Eventually I got tired of it, which is why he is now my ex. It’s not clear to me that Sauli will ever get tired of this cycle, since he seems to drink quite a bit himself.

    Adam may be the type of person who needs to totally abstain from alcohol completely. Some people have a difficult time stopping (knowing their limit) once they begin drinking. This drinking issue seems to get him in trouble time and time again.

    Interesting that Dadbert is laughing it off, but then what else can he really do over Twitter? I saw all those google alerts as well. Not good — some referring to Adam as having “violent tendencies”. I honestly had a difficult time even reading most of them.

    I’m not saying stop drinking all together. I’m saying maybe he should think twice about this “getting shitfaced at the club” habit. Might have been acceptable when he was a 20-something club kid, but now he’s about to turn 30 and he’s a man with a lot of responsibility on his shoulders.

    one of the more recent comments at MJs. Many of the cooments there are not really negative; lots of support for BB still there. But this incident is truly “bothering” people.

    I took the day off from work today to begin cleaning and do some cooking for this upcoming weekend. As you can see, I’ve accomplished NOTHING!

    This Adam Lambert fandom has been one continual roller coaster ride — up one minute, down the next. I’m desperately looking forward to the next “up” moment!

    Srsly, I’m trying to be positive about this whole incident, it will be forgotten pretty soon, I don’t pay much attention to comments under MTV, Yahoo and similar press articles.
    *shrugs*
    On the positive side, our favourite poster from MJ was banned before this whole thing erupted, so at least we are spared reading her nonsense.

    I agree! I think we all need to step away and take a deep breath. Adam is human, and being human, will make mistakes. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but need to take others feelings into account. That’s why we left MJ’s, yes?
