After a very eventful past month for Adam and his fans, December has arrived. Adam enjoyed quite a bit of publicity during November, including an epic performance with Queen at the EMAs, a Rolling Stone interview, a mentoring appearance on Majors & Minors, and his return to the AMA stage (unfortunately only as a presenter this time around). Still no new music for us to enjoy with our holiday feasts, but all the signs currently point to the lead single from Adam’s new album being released in January.

Update 7 PM 12/14: as per Adam’s tweets today, “Better Than I Know Myself”, the lead single from his new album “Trespassing”, will be released on Tuesday, December 20th!

    Funny. No Adam during morning commute. No Adam when out running errands either. No Adam during evening ride home. Trolling all local stations each time. Did hear Kris Allen’s No Boundaries though. Made me laugh at the irony.

    About radio play….. I did not expect to hear Adam until the end of January. I was incredibly surprised to hear him today. Toby is a man of his word! Funny that Toby was on from 3-7 and finally came through at almost 7.
    I was so close to giving up.

    mils, I don’t expect to hear BTIKM on the radio. In fact I still don’t understand why several radio stations are playing it now. Thought it was supposed to be in January.

    BTIKM just got played on Q102Philly, in the Takeover segment. Listeners vote for songs and the songs with the highest votes get played. Woot!

    Votes are from online, calls, emails, tweets so ended up only at 94% when tallied according to the radio host Kelly.

    Philly102Q just played BTIKM!!! And a round of applause for the Glamberts right after, saying we’re the best, and he KNEW this song would be on the radio. FLAIL FLAIL FLAIL!!!
    Now playing Someone Like You, Adele.
    Before BTIKM, played Miley, Kesha, etc. BTIKM fits, but it also stands out – PERFECT.

    Once they start full promo for this song, with live performances, etc. and with all the good reviews mentioning the album, I think people will really be looking forward to the album – which is the main event, right?
    Plus, I can’t wait for the video for this song – I think the song was crafted for a great video, the ending will make more sense and fit with the video.
    Adam has been working so hard, I’m sure he has been creating all these details, like the perfectionist he is. And he has been literally hounded, hurried – I feel bad. Cry

    Back on MJs I did a timeline once:

    2009 – first half, Idol
    2009 – second half, Idol tour plus recording FYE, plus OUT debacle, AMAs

    2010 – first half, tons of pressure re AMA interviews, int’l promo tour Europe, Asia
    2010 – second half, after very brief rest, GNL six month grueling tour all over the US back and forth, then Asia/Pacific, then Europe, with radio promos everywhere

    2011 – Exhaustion, coming down off two-year non-stop travel/being “on” – for a few months
    2011 – maybe 2nd qtr, more Sauli, recovery, more progress on album, then IT GETS BETTER…….et al.

    Also just want to mention, I think a lot of the DJs really like Adam, having met him last year, and I think his great likeability, sweetness to the station fans and listeners, won them over and has helped him get this radio play.

    Finally bought the new single tonight on Amazon.com. It’s in #35 with a green up arrow in the top 100 just under Beiber’s Mistletoe at #34 with a red down arrow. Wonder how high he’ll go. Couldn’t decide whether to go with iTunes or Amazon, but since I was looking at some freebies on Amazon, decided to go with them.

    It is exciting to follow Adam.

    And YAY If its true about Yeah Right, being banned from MJ’s I havent been there tonite, but as I said before, I was sick of her, but you know what, I almost feel sorry for the person, I think she just did it for attention, might just be a sad person.

    Adam is still stuck on the same itune numbers, I would be real happy if they moved up over nite.

    And lastly, I am adding my 29th or will it be 30th birthday Dec 23. The grandkids informed me they were coming over to bake Xmas cookies all day, oh boy!!!!! Cake Present

    One question, if I can preorder the album off Amazon, do they post it out on the day its officially released, or send it out earlier so you receive it the day it should be released??

    HK fan, I am afraid that there is a wait. I ordered the deluxe album from Amazon and the delivery estimate is between Apr. 13, 2012 – May 3, 2012. I also ordered one from AO which was a lot cheaper (both the album itself and the handling and delivery). Lets see which comes first. Of course I might have to order one from i-tunes to tide me over from March 20th. lol (someone helped me set up an American i-tunes account). But it is all good since the money goes to Adam.

    I’ve been hearing about all the guys loving BTIKM. Well my 24 yr old son just emailed me to say he floves it and has it on repeat mode. Ouch. I’m liking it more and more as I keep listening to it but still not loving it. Looking forward to the rest of the album, but basking in Adamglory now!! Wishing him fantastic superstardom status now!! Laugh

    FYE was released in HK the same days as the states, so I just had a trip up to HMV and got the copy in my hand straightaway. I guess I’ll do the same for Trespassing.

    Maybe no advanvage HK fan, but I wanted to DO something after such a long wait. Besides, it took ages until the album came here and we didn’t ever get the deluxe copy in the stores.

    The advantage if you preorder from AO is that you get notice of the various things such as bonus tracks that are on other versions of the album and the ability to acquire/buy the extra cuts (as I understand it) without buying another version of the album to get them. And the preorder from AO gives you a free download of the single right away.

    No advantage for preordering from Amazon as far as I know.

    Looks to me like Amazon has a deluxe version and AO has regular version, with chance for exclusive upgrades. Are the exclusive upgrades the same as what is on the deluxe version? They do not make that very clear.

    Also Amazon has a price guarantee so if the price drops anytime between now and release you will get the lowest price.
    I always order from Amazon as I have an account there and it is just so much easier and cd’s I have ordered always come on the release date in the mail.

    Now off to listen to BTIKM from the 2011 MMOTY

    (shakes head) Who knows, Glambotgram? This was so frustrating last time around. So many versions of the same thing! I wonder if other artists do this? I know that Adele had a regular and deluxe version, I think that might be common, but all the different bonus tracks and permutations for FYE were exasperating and frustrating. Would like to know up front what will be available so I can choose the version I want, but I think that even for the record company it is a moving target as things progress with Adam. Whatever. sigh.

    (Strangely, it’s been over 24 hours and I’ve never received the email about the single download, so I guess I’d better contact AO and bug them for it. So much for “instant” download. Drat.)

    Glad to have that reassurance, dcglam.

    Son, age 19, listened again. Meh for him, still, and he is an Adam fan. He liked the lyrics but still says it sounds dated and even if it does well, that it won’t have a long shelf life beyond this year’s success because it already sounds old (to him). I wish that the first single hadn’t already been a couple of years old.

    Or maybe this single is almost a “throwaway” because who knew how well a new song from Adam would do in the Christmas season? Let it get out there, ride the tide a little bit, and then do promo after the first of the year and see what happens. If nothing, or not enough, whip out song #2 in quick succession.
    Could be a strategy. Just thinking here…

    Played it for kids in the car yesterday – they loved it. Eight-year-old made me play it three times. Was surprised at that – but she listens to 99.5 at home so it probably just fits in with what she normally hears.
