After a very eventful past month for Adam and his fans, December has arrived. Adam enjoyed quite a bit of publicity during November, including an epic performance with Queen at the EMAs, a Rolling Stone interview, a mentoring appearance on Majors & Minors, and his return to the AMA stage (unfortunately only as a presenter this time around). Still no new music for us to enjoy with our holiday feasts, but all the signs currently point to the lead single from Adam’s new album being released in January.

Update 7 PM 12/14: as per Adam’s tweets today, “Better Than I Know Myself”, the lead single from his new album “Trespassing”, will be released on Tuesday, December 20th!

Enjoy the chat during this last month of 2011!

This is from twitter from a radio station:

    NEW** Adam Lambert

SOOOOO. Jason and I heard it FIRST. Adam Lamberts new single “Better Than I Know Myself” and its FIRE. It totally brings it back to vintage Lambert and reminds me of his original and amazing hit “Whataya Want From Me” but has that new, fresh feel to it. And, I mean…isnt that what we want from our favorite artists? Keep it classy but fresh all at once? Welp, he succeeded.

The lyrics and melody is great, you can sing along to it, feel the energy and sultry vibe to the song.

He has such passion in all of his music and this just seriously exceeds expectations. We cant post the audio just yet, but the second we can you guys will hear it!!!!

So, Lambert fans…..Keep eyes and ears open for this one. You wont be disappointed.

    xoxo

    -Ashley

    Sigh of exhaustion and exasperation.
What is so hard about releasing a song that is clearly complete and ready to go????? Question Question Question Question Question

  3. luval says:

ok, I’m commenting on my previous post. WWFM? Miss Chaos are you lurking? Back to the beginning. I really thought this was going to be NEW music. I want to hear it now so bad so I can finally stop ranting and eat crow.

  7. luval says:

Thanks for speaking Adam! and thanks jlurk! Kinda what we all assumed anyway. No way will Adam go on tour with Queen except as an occasional guest.

  8. Kradamour says:

Love Adam’s fierce tweet! In Love

  12. luval says:

Yes, Olympics! They told me they are still looking!

Gosh, x-factor was a train wreck tonight. I could barely watch the ending. Enough with these too young contestants!

@milestougeaux @adamlambert Now you are teasing us about the Olympics? LOL Cue 3 more days of new global Olympics press stories….

oh stop it …I just read the rumors like the rest of you.

  14. glambotgram says:

LOL at the tweets, Yes Adam we know what a “FRONT” man you are! In Love

In other news: OMG X-Factor Nicole you are ridiculous, if you can’t do your job go home! Shout Teeth

  15. luval says:

I feel bad for Nicole. I think she thought that there was no way Marcus had more votes than Rachel. Rachel will do just fine. They all have to remember that not winning is the new winning! Smile

  16. Oksana2000 says:

Let me bring my post from MJ’s.

I can’t wait for Season 11 of AI.
    X Factor is a farce.
    Nicole is an idiot.
Chris.aka.Meth Boi, should win, blow 5 mill on crack and this will teach Simon a lesson.
None of the Final Four is marketable.
Now I’m going to read a book or something like that. Even doing dishes is better than watching this show.

    Uffff…

  17. glambotgram says:

HAH oksana ITA about Chris, I don’t see anything remotely entertaining about Chris.

luval She should know you can’t count on votes and she just wimped out IMO, cause she didn’t want to be the “bad guy” and now she looks even worse than if she would have just sent Marcus home. I don’t even really care who wins at this point I just hate the way she handled it tonight. YMMV

    OK Rant over!

  18. luval says:

Most people agree with you glambotgram! I would have preferred Rachel but I didn’t vote…same as millions of others. I really don’t think anyone cares.

Love your post that you brought over, Oksana2000!

… And YOUR next big obsession. #Trespassing #betterthaniknowmyself

  20. dcglam says:

    Wow, about X Factor tonight…..
Oksana, I agree with every single word of your post. I also agree, glambotgram, that Nicole didn’t want to be the bad guy and just assumed that the viewing public would take Marcus out for her. Well, it all backfired on her. I’m already LOLing at next week (looking at you, Nicole) when Marcus is back in the bottom 2, singing for his life yet again — maybe against her precious Josh. Like I said earlier, I’m not wowed by this entire show. IMO, judges shouldn’t be judges if they can’t handle the responsibilities. ‘Nuff said….. Really Angry

  21. glambotgram says:

WHEN ADAM, WHEN WILL IT BE MY BIG OBSESSION!!

  22. eywflyer says:

Adam should not have turned down the chance to front a short Queen tour at all IMO, much less in such a dismissive and public manner. He may get some bad press from those tweets, and he deserves it.

  23. luval says:

eywflyer…I agree with you just a little bit. The tweet will backfire if BTIKM is not a monster hit.

  24. eywflyer says:

Luval, yep exactly. I’d expect some articles along the lines of “who the hell does he think he is”. This is QUEEN we are talking about, and he just publicly turned them down for the second time.

  25. glambotgram says:

I am not on twitter, but was that tweet in answer to someone’s question about him fronting Queen?

  26. jlurksacto says:

eywflyer, how can turning down something he was never offered be bad?

  27. eywflyer says:

jlurk, I think it’s pretty clear from the recent articles that Queen was very interested in having Adam tour with them. Whether or not it was officially offered, the perception in the music press will be that Adam just told Queen to go away.

I understand that my opinion on this topic may be in the minority on this site, and totally respect everyone else’s opinions. I just feel that this was not a good way for Adam to handle this. He could have just privately communicated to Queen that he was going to be too busy with promo, or even publicly said that. But he should not have stated it the way he did.

  28. Oksana2000 says:

eywflyer, I didn’t read Adam tweet the way you did. First of all I don’t think that Queen offered him anything, since they are still looking for a frontman.Second, Adam said that he is willing do some special occasion gig. I think that he is rather saving his face. When did he publicly turn them down for the first time?? I don’t recall anything like that.

  29. jlurksacto says:

All of those articles came from interviews after the MTV ewas. And nothing
was said about touring. One off concerts/events. The reporters jumped to
    touring.

  30. dcglam says:

I took the tweet as meaning that right now Adam’s total focus is on his next album, as it should be. I feel badly for him if it came across to others as anything other than that. Knowing Adam, he may follow it up with another more explanatory tweet if he gets negative feedback.

  31. jlurksacto says:

I agree, dcglam. I was surprised when I first read the idea that somehow Adam was dissing Queen. I don’t see it that way at all, especially since the love was obvious at the concert and after. If he gets grief, I wouldn’t even be surprised if Brian May takes his part. (and I would love it!)

  33. Ron says:

Three Canadians will join a Queen tribute band being created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the British rockers, including a Montrealer who is a remarkable sound-alike for Freddie Mercury.

Montreal-born vocalist Marc Martel, Quebec City bass player François Olivier Doyon and Toronto guitarist Tristan Avakian are among the winners announced Thursday in the Queen Extravaganza contest.

  34. ultimathule says:

I didn’t read the tweet in a bad way. To me it was Adam’s cutting through all the speculation and telling his fans what was in store. And from what I read, the return tweets were great about it. They (we) all want him to concentrate on his own career.

    From:
    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/news/article.cfm?c_id=1501119&objectid=10772077

Drummer Taylor admits he’s a big fan of the star.

“He has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that’s great,” he told Billboard.com.

“We would like to work with him again. There’s nothing signed just yet but we’re talking about live dates. It could be very exciting.”

We’ll see what the reaction is in the neutral music press.

  36. jlurksacto says:

but we’re talking about live dates.

    Touring from
    this?

    Yayyyy, and with
all the “add-ons” that increased article size into bullshit territory.

  39. jlurksacto says:

This is from NoAngel on Atop – I agree completely:

Adam has already expressed his appreciation and how honored he was to sing with Queen, when he tweeted about it afterwards.

This tweet was to assert himself as an artist in his own right. I like that he didn’t use the word “Queen” in his tweet. I think because he didn’t want to come off as ungrateful or to call the band out. This was simply a clear message to everyone listening. It acknowledges the possibility of future collaborations with Queen on “special” occasions (making the point that HE is special) and also brings back the focus to what is most important to him– his own music, which will be our obsession.

    Very smartly done! UNF!

Sorry peps, would love to say it, but I think that should be up to Adam!

and it will be no one’s fault but his own if someone bows to pressure and leaks Adam’s news before he gets around to sharing it with us. Just sayin.

WHERE ARE THE PAPS WHEN WE NEED THEM???

  42. ultimathule says:

This is one of the best-kept secrets in the modern age of technology that I’ve ever run across. Millions are shrieking for this track and up comes NOTHING. He should work for the CIA.

  43. Kradamour says:

ultimathule, I also think that this speaks very well for the loyalty that peeps obviously feel for Adam. That kind of loyalty has to be earned, and clearly our boy has earned it. I love him even more for behavior that has created those ties.

And for the record, I don’t want ANYONE to steal Adam’s thunder! If anyone tries to leak the release date I will close my eyes and put my fingers in my ears and lalalalal….. Smile

  44. riskylady says:

I think Adam did exactly the right thing. Roger Taylor said they were “interested in working with Adam again and that they are just talking about live dates.” No mention of touring, much less being frontman. The press ran with it and it snowballed.
Now, how would it look if Roger came out and made a statement saying the speculation is way overboard? I don’t think he would want to diss Adam like that.
In fact, maybe both parties agreed it would be best for Adam to squash it and leave open the “special occasion” window. After all, Roger is in LA, they easily could have talked.
At least this takes most of the air out of the “touring” balloon, and Queen’s main focus right now I think is getting their tribute band out there and the tour off the ground. This should help that, too. Nicely done, Adam….

  45. ultimathule says:

I agree, Kradamour – and think this “lockdown” is actually highly unusual and does speak to how people in the business view Adam. And 99% of me does believe I would put “my fingers in my ears” – but, you have to remember, we’re born with original sin (I’m a sorta Catholic – lol).

  46. jlurksacto says:

    riskylady – WERK

  47. cher says:

I’m still ticked off about XFactor tonight. If you’re gonna get paid to be freaking judge, then da%#@mn judge!! If it’s a singoff, then forget principles about choosing your own contestant if the other person is better then and just judge!! Or don’t have a singoff and spare everyone the hope and the waiting! Finally convinced that Nicole is a blithering idiot and she’s gone next year if Simon has any sense. Did you hear that audience boo her? She deserved it. If Rachel got the lowest votes, then just send her home and forget the darn singoff! Why bother if you have a judge that’s essentially not a judge! Done with my rant!! Sorries.
Now back to my fave topic Adam. His tweet is in no way dissing Queen. He’s his own person and just clarifying that he’s not going to be a permanent frontman for Queen nor anyone but himself. A few live dates is all Roger said and he’s confirming that but could have worded it better. His dad is a crackup!!

  48. ultimathule says:

As far as I’m concerned, X-F is a dead man walking. Doubt I’ll ever watch it again unless I read there’s a spectacular contestant on it that blows everyone away. The show, IMO, is sorta creepy. The screaming crowd gets to me – like some sort of mindless creature with a life of its own.

  49. ultimathule says:

Kradamour – just got my Alexandra Burke CD in the mail, too. That “Broken Heels” is just so addictive – a really great talent.

  50. cwm says:

I totally agree with those of you who say that Adam said exactly the right thing in his tweet. The global media have run away with the story and turned Roger’s statement that he, Brian, and Adam are “talking about live dates” into this:

Headline: “Queen guitarist says Adam Lambert’s Their Man”
First sentence of the article: “Queen stars Roger Taylor and Brian May are in talks with American Idol star Adam Lambert about becoming the rock supergroup’s new frontman.”

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/news/article.cfm?c_id=1501119&objectid=10772077

Adam needed to clarify to the media and to his fans that he is not becoming Queen’s new frontman, that any collaborations with Queen are for special occasions, and that his first priority is his own music. And that clarification does nothing to change the fact that he and Queen are still in actual discussions about some future live dates. Adam has not dismissed Queen or turned his back on performing with them. They’re still in discussions about dates; he has simply clarified that he is not becoming their new permanent frontman.
