After a killer Queen + Adam Lambert of a July, the 5-star QAL tour is soon to wind down with only 3 concerts left. It wraps up in Houston, Texas and then the guys have a well-deserved break. Hopefully, we’ll get some more new music from Adam – or it will be the sound of crickets here for awhile – until they get together again for the UK/European leg in November.

Literally was just in the elevator leaving work with a couple.
Her: super pregnant and having an emotional meltdown over something. “I’m so sick of people not understanding us.”
Her: Very supportive and lovely transwoman.

DD and DIL will fly in on the 18th to attend her friend’s wedding reception. This friend had her wedding in Hawaii in july and we can’t afford to go there. Haha
And so on the 21th Aug my family (4 of us) are planning to go to the Air & Space Museum to view the Sonar Eclipse from their streaming.

Toronto: Always have a great time there. TlKC took us on a walking tour of downtown Toronto. So many interesting things to see. It was sooooo hot but we managed to duck in buildings along the way. TLKC was a perfect guide. Then that evening we went to a wonderful Italian restaurant near the hotel where we must have spent 3 hours. Food was fantastic. On show day there was breakfast, walking around again, then meeting Ron and many others at our pre-show dinner. It was just perfect…connecting up with the Toronto Glamberts I don’t see that often. Showtime! Ron & I agreed that the vocals were muddled where we sat and the red hair. boo.
Mohegan Sun: No recap except to say Adam’s voice was amazing.
Prudential Center
rove the 4 hrs down from my house the day of the show. I love road trips. Met the gals in the lobby of the Hotel. Went to the Portugese Restaurant mmm222 found. Waiters were real high strung, no substitutes, no separate checks, no nothing…hurried to get us out of there. mils had given us our Queen tiaras…which were fabulous! I wore it the rest of the night. Arena was not really attached to the Hilton but pretty close. Only had to walk across the street. Show was great. Unfortunately where it was located, after the show was over there was no place to get anything to eat. Kind of desolate, actually. So we spent some time in the lobby berting then made it up to our rooms. Had breakfast in the AM.
Barclays: Since I drove down I planned on driving from Newark to Brooklyn. I only had room in my car for 2 people plus their luggage. So nkd and riskylady were my passengers. Although I had my mapquest directions (I don’t have GPS in my car), nkd had her phone with google maps. It was perfect & both directions matched. Traffic wasn’t bad at all, went via Holland Tunnel, made it in about 45 minutes. The rest of the gang Uber’d it over. They may tell you about their experience.
We got to the Hotel around noon. Rooms were not ready but we decided to wait for everyone to see what we wanted to do. This was Thursday, the off day, between two shows. Eventually we were all together. Rooms were still not ready but we were hungry & went down to Juniors. We pretty much spent the whole afternoon there because there wasn’t time to do much else. We took a walk over to Barclays to scope out where we were and how far from the arena. Was a nice walk. Then back to the hotel around 4pm-ish to check in.
Rooms were ready and as mils mentioned the hotel was kind of a “healthy” hotel. We had exercise ropes in our rooms, an exercise ball, there was free lemon or lime water all over the place. When you turn on the TV the first thing that pops up in a 4 minute exercise session! Maybe it was all good because we had to work off all that cheesecake!
The next morning we had breakfast at the healthy hotel. adamized had an interesting bkfast. Maybe she’ll tell you about it.
So show day we made plans…two of us would go to the infamous HighLine, so lovely and the rest would go to the 911 Memorial. Again mmm222 found an Israeli/Mediterranean place near the venue. It was fantastic!! She is just the best and arranging all our goings-on.
Concert was amazing…best of all my travels Our tickets weren’t together. Riskylady & myself were next to each other & seats were just fine. And of course where did we go after the show? Juniors! for more cheesecake or breakfast fare.
I left early the next morning. Got a little lost but eventually found my way to Upstate New York. Only crappy thing that happened was I lost my garage door opener somewhere so had to buy a new one.
These recaps aren’t great, I’ll admit but I wanted to get a “cliff notes” idea of what happened. Will do better next time! Whenever that may be.

Well. . . Hello ALL!! I am mils lurker. I have been lurking here since 2014, when I discovered your site after the concert that literally changed my life. I had the delightful honor of meeting the lovely mils and her friends the morning after the St. Paul show. As my boys said of the encounter, “Mom has found her people”. It was a true hi-light of my trip! Oh, and the concert pretty good too ?!

I agree about the sound at the Toronto concert. luval and I were sitting together and during “Hammer Must Fall” I leaned into her ear and said, “I can’t hear him”. Of course I could hear him but it was muddy. There was a noticeable difference though for the two encore songs. But it was only then that Adam sounded clear as a bell.

Staggered out of the Uber. Adamized, mmm, cwm and myself. Charged twice the amount, took us through Barrios of NJ and NY we would never have seen if it weren’t for the driver. Took the wrong tunnel, blasted Bruno Mars the whole time ( love me some Bruno. But sheesh.) Formal complaint filed.
The hotel was awesome, loved it. As luval said, very health and wellness focused. It’s a good thing because the food orgy that commenced at Juniors was maybe balanced by the breakfast and snack choices there.

We really tore Juniors up. Over and over. Except for the Israeli restaurant, which was by far my favorite meal of the trip, Juniors was our mainstay. Close to hotel and Barclay.
I just love NY. The crowds, the traffic, the noise, the smells, the diversity, the people, the feeling that you can say and do ANYTHING and nobody gives Two Fux. It’s quite liberating. Love it. Am happy my kids are in Jersey, and DIL is from Brooklyn. Gives me more reasons to go there.
Nkd and I walked the High Line on Friday afternoon. It was hot, sunny, and stunning. Art. Architecture. Views. People. Best lemon Gelato ever. Yummy yummy yummy. And FREE.
Free is good. Especially in NY.
The rest of our gang went to the 911, but, I had just done that last year, so we did the High Line instead. I would visit it over and over.
So, a particularly lulzy moment was the first sculpture we saw. It highly resembles the GDML dripping the paint off the walls paint oozes.
Dinner and showtime!
Nkd and I had seats a couple rows off the floor, past the end of the guitar. We decided it would give us a chance to see the show from a different angle.
Boy.
Were we right.
The lasers, Frank, the screens.
The VOICE.
OMFFFFFGGGGGG
No exaggeration.
I have NEVER heard Adam like this. The acoustics. His jubilant mood. The CROWD was eating him alive. So many gay guys. So many Queen die hards. So many Glamberts. He was on fire. FIRE.
After that ree-dick-u-lus STL, nkd and I turned to each other with our eyes popping out of our heads and jaws dropped.
The show was off the charts fun.
Afterwards, the tatted gay men behind us , were screaming “Adam Lambert is a fucking GAWD”. We had to agree. We started talking. They asked if we’d met him. Yes. They had too. At a house party in LA. Didn’t ask if it was his house….crowd separated us. Again, nkd and I just had our eyes popping out.
By the time we worked our way to the lobby, we were berting hard with fans.
Outside , vendors selling shirts with blog posters agsin. CWM approached them this time. Same NY answers, “I don’t make em lady, I just sell em.”.

Back to Juniors for cheesecake. I had a “slice ” of cherry pie. Lol. It was easily 1/3 of a pie. With a quart of ice cream on it. We were all sharing everything anyway. Delish.
The host there was a huge Adam fan.I shared this site with him. His name is Ron. I hope he’s at least lurking. He was sweet.
Back to our healthy hotel. The Even. I loved it, even though Adamized may feel differently due to her hilarious breakfast. I mean, my oatmeal was absolutely divine, delicious, and more than enough to eat.(lol adamized. This joke never ends…)
Next morning we had a yummy breakfast at…..Junior’s. Lots of coffee. Even for the extra cups where nobody was sitting. Lol.
Then back to check out. Leave the hotel. End the trip. Luval left before breakfast. Sadz. The rest of the gang was going to Philly and DC.
I got in my cab for Laguardia all by myself. And slept all the way home.
What a trip. What fun. Besides the shows, getting to know everyone better, and meet cwm , finally was priceless. I just love this fandom.
So. Before I left I chatted with nkd about Dallas and Houston. I just HAD to go.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome, everyone. And thanks mils for the overly flattering introduction/description. Appreciate it! (Sorry, don’t know how to put mils in bold. Not a techie!) My quick backstory: Adam was off my radar after Idol, even though I loved him and couldn’t wait to see what he’d do each week. I sincerely believed I had never heard a better singer. And Queen wasn’t even on my radar. Quite by fluke we got tickets to QAL in Calgary in 2014. Two days before the show, my husband’s client offered him his box suite. That’s 12 tickets babies!! Let me preface this by saying my husband worked for a record label in the ’90’s. We saw every show that blew through town. Hundreds of them. But none of them even came close to touching what we witnessed that night. Aside from the utterly stupendous voice, it was the BEST any thing of any kind I had ever seen. For days after, I kept trying to figure out what it was about that show that was so compelling. It was not just talent and full blown spectacle. For me, it was the pure joy that emanated so palpably from the stage. I needed to know more. I needed to know everything. All the time. And that’s when I found you. ?

I’m enjoying all the recaps. I finished my QAL adventure and am now off on another more exotic adventure. Yesterday I got to pet a cheetah. It wasn’t quite as exciting as hugging Adam or Brian, but still pretty darn good. Today I’m relaxing with gorgeous views of Lake Victoria. Tomorrow we head into the bush. I’ll probably be off the grid for a while but will catch up when I get back.

Soooo.
I started hatching plans in Brooklyn with my roomie from Houston, nkd, to come to Texas. I Also was striving toward achieving a work life balance in other manners, and another trip seemed to be my destiny. Besides, after the tremendous show at Barclay, I simply had to have more. More. More.
I got home from NY late Saturday night, by Monday I had plane tix to Dallas and home via Houston. Many texts, emails and chats ensued with our Cher, nkd, Texaswannaholdem and floridagirl.
The search for concert seats was a tad more challenging, but, I ended up with quite the seats. !!!
I arranged to be away from work, as part of my balancing act, and BAM, I was Texas bound on Thursday. Packing was a snap, since my suitcase hadn’t really been put away for weeks!!
After a flight delayed by thunderbolts and lightening very very frightening, nkd and Cher picked me up in Dallas. The terminal was filled with Queen music. Play the Game, Under Pressure, Bo Rhapsody as I walked under huge Welcome to Texas, Welcome to Dallas signs. Everything is indeed bigger in Texas.
Set up with nkd in our suite, very nice. Much gabbing with cher. Lol.
Finally a little shut eye. In the morning, continental breakfast, oatmeal and fruit, my mainstay, gabbing up Queenies and Glamberts.

Some well known fans, more on this later.
Then it was off to the airport to get Floridagirl , and have some lunch at Pappasitas. Which became the Juniors of Texas for us. It’s a chain of very tasty restaurants, Pappadoux, Pappa things. Tons of Pappas all over Texas. Not sure about mamas, but lots of pappas.
Drove around a bit. Hung out a bit…got ready to go to the show. More QUEEN tiaras for the Texas group. Fun.
Parked and went to the W Hotel to meet up with and finally for me, after all these years, all the emails, Texaswannaholdem! !! Who is lovely, beautiful, charming. Friendly, and found that we get along like peas and carrots, like bread and butter. Or in our case, like earrings and bracelets! !!
Spent some time chatting with Queen die hards and music fans in the lovely bar at the W and their outdoor area just across from the venue.
Finally made our way over, and in!!
I had to buy a single seat. Never did that before. But. I did find people to chat up before the show.
Meee???? Mois???? Chat???? With strangers??? Lololol.
No problem.
