After a killer Queen + Adam Lambert of a July, the 5-star QAL tour is soon to wind down with only 3 concerts left. It wraps up in Houston, Texas and then the guys have a well-deserved break. Hopefully, we’ll get some more new music from Adam – or it will be the sound of crickets here for awhile – until they get together again for the UK/European leg in November.

    A little back and forth on twitter about Tyler. Peeps saying he’s boring, doesn’t interact with Adam, no fun. I’ve always felt Adam doesn’t interact with him. I don’t mind Tyler at all. Gets the job done. Like Spike & Neil.

    Waking up in Dallas. Roomy is nkd. Had a day of work and a loooong travel to Dallas. Turns out thunderbolts and lightening were very very frightening.

    But, I’m here, and up early.
    Despite our Cher’s attempts to keep us up all night!!! Lol

    Perusing the thread, and ogled the STL from Mohegan Sun that ulti so kindly posted at the top of the thread.

    Twice.

    Gotta say, I agree. I’ve been saying that all tour long. I love the new show. Loooooerv it.

    But I miss this .
    I miss the loosey goosey free fall, the twirls, the FRINGES, the sexy clothes, the space on the stage, the sashaying, I just do.

    He’s trying so hard to get this going again. He has moments, but they just don’t get here. Barclay’s was close….I’ll always have Toronto on the brain though. Epic isn’t even the word.

    I can’t bring the video here, slow Internet at our lovely hotel in Dallas.

    Maybe you guys could. It’s the In the Lap of the Gods plus 3 more video from Toronto 2. Crikey the lad has pipes of steel.

    Does anybody here think he’s wearing jackets because he’s like one and a half pounds heavier this tour? Or because he just likes suits??

    Whatever it is, at least we still get to see our guy. Two more times.

    Good morning, mils and nkd. Agree with your thoughts on the show and the jackets! I felt he wanted to break out so many times during the show but couldn’t because of the different vibe of this production.

    As to the jackets, it’s probably a bit of both. The production is beyond amazing this time around and I think that Queen fans love the spectacle of that. But those of us that are Adam fans first, I’ll just speak for myself, feel that there’s a bit something missing this time around. Can’t quite describe why, although mils does a good job of it in her post. What I noticed in Toronto was how cohesive the band was and how incredible the production was. Maybe that’s why Adam’s performance doesn’t “break free”. Killer Queen on a robot head at the back of the stage just can’t compare to Killer Queen on a chaise right in front of you! I will say when you are only a few feet from the stage, you are so lost in the details that this feeling is greatly reduced but then I never did see the 2014 show close up.

    Yes to everything you said, I’ve had the incredible good fortune to have seen both productions on the barricades.

    Both times, Adam and the guys were “tight”.

    What seems tighter this time is the size of the stages. Not enough room to get into twirls and crazy choreo. He tries, oh, he tries, but he’s kinda boxed in.

    I do love and appreciate the amount of time they spend on the B stage. Last time the “complaint” was not enough time there.

    So they listened to the fans.

    I also saw Adam’s responses recently to pics from last tour in his STL outfit, which were always on the lines of “goal weight”. Sheesh. He’s skinny as a pencil!

    Methinks he’s covering up his middle with those jackets. Don’t get me wrong, boy can work a suit, but it’s like he’s more body conscious this time around.

    He’s not a chubby teenager anymore. But I understand the internal feelings.

    Gah. I’m just musing, eating my oatmeal at our continental breakfast.

    I spy Glamberts in our hotel. Not sure if I’m gonna work the crowd.

    Oh, who am I kidding?

    Well, in defence of Adam, I love the songs out in the middle of the crowd. Everyone gets a closer look, really, not just when you’re at the barricades.
    And, he does love suits! The WAG tour outside the US had the blue suit and the grey spiky suit in addition to a t-shirt and the tanktop with fringes. The TOH tour had those very modern graphic outfits and the magenta suit and Splashion tux. And he also wore long coats for the EMA and Nile Rogers gigs. Another tux for the recent LGBTQ prom, and a blazer with white orchid for the Clive Owens gig.
    Not to mention his many many other designer suits!
    I was told in a management seminar that the suit jacket was a “layer of authority” i.e. he’s THE BOSS LOLOL. And still shy about his gorgeous yummy Body.
