Adam_Instagram-Sweden

Adam starts off August down under in Australia and New Zealand as he continues his global promotion for his new album. TV performances on The Voice and the Today Show are followed by a show in New Zealand. Adam then heads back to the US where he will headline the iHeart WSOBV concert. The ESKA music awards is next along with some other European promo stops before he heads (most likely) to England to reconnect with Brian and Roger for rehearsals for their South American concerts in September. And who knows what else will happen between the scheduled events!

    Yesterday I went through all my CDs from all 3 ERAs to give to my niece who just discovered Adam.
    I realized I hardly touched the Trespassing CD. Most of the songs on my iTunes and iPod are from live performance.

    Hi everyone! It’s good to be back , although it looks like I missed a lot. My dad, who has barely been sick a day in his life, was diagnosed with AML on Tuesday and I’m trying to cope. Not sure how much I’ll be here in the next few weeks.

    Acute Myeloid Leukemia. And yes, Adam Mitchel Lambert was the first thing I thought of when I heard those initials!! Prognosis is good with chemo treatment. Thanks for caring, ulti and asif. Knew you two would still be up. Today is my mom’s birthday and she’ll be spending most of it in the hospital. Good thing I wasn’t employed so I could jump in and help!

    I am probably in the minority but I was just meh on TSMGO on Xfactor. Strays too much from the original and too many acrobatics. Kind of like it would sound like if Christina Aguilara would sing it.

    I loved that audition, and I gather that Dr Bri did too if he tweeted it out. I wouldn’t have liked it if he tried to sound like Freddie or Adam. He was giving his own spin on a classic, and certainly gave it all the emotion that he had in him. I like to think that Adam paved the way for performers such as this guy to be accepted on these shows, but I don’t know if the UK has been more accepting than the US in general. Certainly Simon and the other judges comments were similar to the ones Adam got on AI.
    (I am not comparing this guy’s voice to Adam’s. That just wouldn’t be fair.)

    sparkle, sorry to hear about your father’s diagnosis. Glad to know that the prognosis is good. I know that you will be there to support him through the difficult treatments. Yes it is lucky that you aren’t working right now. I know that I couldn’t have been there as much for my father if I hadn’t retired just as he moved here.

    I’m with Luval on the Seann audition. Too many vocal acrobatics for me. I watched a few more of his Youtube vids and liked them less.
    Mind you I thought Adam’s vocal acrobatics at the first show with Queen in Ireland were a bit too much as well. He very soon learnt to control it a bit more. The “take it to church” stuff he does in STL really fits the song for me though, so who knows!! I’ve always thought it’s a very American style, possibly from the Gospel influence.

    I am very, very sorry to hear about your Dad, sparkle. Certain forms of leukemia are highly treatable and I hope his is one of them. Sending good thoughts your way.

    ETA: On the phone with Ron yesterday, we were talking about Halloween and the timing of the baseball play-offs/World Series in high hopes of your possibly coming to Toronto at some time this fall. Is it selfish to be disappointed that this will not be likely now? Very sorry about this, too.

    Agree on the Seann audition-not a fan of vocal runs for the hell of it. This is part of growing up as an artist, of course. Adam says he himself did it before he realized that less is more.

    This may seem a weird question but how does an Australian boy have such an American accent; why not a flicker of OZ in his voice? Something not revealed about the background. Could it be that Americans fare as well on Voice UK as Brits do on American Idol? It will be interesting to follow this story.

    GT can’t seem to close the deal on Top 20 POP but the good news is that it is holding it’s own and should get a decent bit of radio play for the next few weeks. Perfect set-up for an ALN intro at the end of September.
