Adam_Instagram-Sweden

Adam starts off August down under in Australia and New Zealand as he continues his global promotion for his new album. TV performances on The Voice and the Today Show are followed by a show in New Zealand. Adam then heads back to the US where he will headline the iHeart WSOBV concert. The ESKA music awards is next along with some other European promo stops before he heads (most likely) to England to reconnect with Brian and Roger for rehearsals for their South American concerts in September. And who knows what else will happen between the scheduled events!

    Cait and apal, your posts hit so close that it brought tears. Many here know that we’ve been dealing with these issues of dementia/Alzheimer’s with my mother in law. We are currently having to increase her care. It’s gotten severe so quickly.

    My heart goes out to you both as you navigate through the uncertainties of what lies ahead. Hugs. Hug Left Hug Right Heart

    I spent much of the evening making a playlist of songs for her. I put her music on a couple of days ago and she really enjoyed it but she only had the one cd. Lots of doo wops in my head!

    My head is spinning with all the appearances. I don’t know how Adam does it.
    My last chance to get tickets to the concert were over today. I’m a bit sad but I’ll get over it fast. No-one in the group of local fans that I know got any tickets from iheart or 2degrees. The only two I know of got them from radio phone-in competitions. Oh well, fingers crossed now, that he does a NZ show after the Oz concerts in January.I can’t get to Oz as I have my two grandsons for a holiday in Jan. Hey, there’s worse things in the world as many of the members here can attest to. So sorry for all that some are going through.

    Hi everyone! I’m sorry that I’ve been missing for so long. I’ve missed you guys.

    It has turned out to be a sad and rather melancholy spring/summer for me and I haven’t had time to keep up nor have I even felt emotionally up to posting for a while. I think I told you that my mother passed away in late March after a long and sad mental and physical decline over the past year and a half, and that I then had a series of difficult events throughout April and into May that were challenging (car accident, mother-in-law falling, work stress). Then, unexpectedly, my mother-in-law passed away in mid-June (just before TOH was released). I was quite close to her since I had helped take care of her for the past 4-5 years as she declined mentally. So losing both of my mothers just 2.5 months apart has been a double-whammy of sadness and loss, and lots of sad and difficult work to deal with both estates and dismantle and empty out two households, as well as to make room in our own house for all the stuff that needs to be saved. But I’m moving forward and making progress on all of these fronts.

    But it hasn’t left any time or energy for posting here. Hopefully that’s changing and I can hang out here a little more. Cait, apal, nkd, rs, Kradamour – all of you are dealing with issues I am so familiar with and my heart goes out to you all. It seems we’re really in this together, aren’t we? Heart Rose Heart

    Ok, onto happier distractions. Adam. I have been able to keep up with most of what Adam’s been up to via Twitter. I’m loving all of the appearances and performances and interviews and reading about his success in so many different countries. Loving all of the Aussie love right now! All of the berting among hosts and fans alike on that Studio 10 show earlier today was marvelous. I’m also so thrilled for our own nkd, adamized, mmm222, and luval who had such a treat seeing Adam at GMA and the CD signing, our Toronto gang who had their very own meet and greet on the streets of Toronto (Ron, TLKC, M & P), those who got to attend that amazing show at Morongo (retjenny, cocoglam, glitterpatti…), and anyone else here who’s had a chance to see him this era.

    He is more beautiful than ever (how does he even do that?) and his voice sounds better than ever (and how does he even do that, too?). GMA and Morongo were both off-the-charts amazing.

    I have been really struck this era, between the album lyrics and the in-depth interviews in which he has a chance to go beyond his standard talking points and really open up about himself, how vulnerable and real Adam is being with us. Even when he’s being rather light about it, he’s letting us learn a lot more about his demons, his longings, his frustrations, his disillusionment, his difficulty feeling content and satisfied, his difficulty finding lasting love, his… well… his humanness. Like the rest of us, he’s a real person with real and sometimes difficult feelings and experiences. Obviously we’re all excited about the new music, including Adam, and everyone seems to be loving the songs, but I have also been struck by what Adam is telling us about himself and his struggles in these new songs and interviews.

    Perhaps I’m picking up on a lot of this because of my own melancholy state over the past few months. And that’s probably why There I Said It is one of my favorites on the album. The way he sings the verses and the pre-chorus just breaks my heart every time I hear it, and the emotion in his voice really speaks to me and turns me to jelly inside.

    At the same time, so many of these new songs are such a JAM and sound soooo good in my ears and my brain, and I love them all. My top 3 songs on the album are TOH, TISI, and The Light. GT and EITN round out my top 5.

    Has there been discussion here about what people’s top 3 and/or top 5 are? Did everyone already report in and I missed it? If not, I’d love to hear from others here what your favorites are!

    Yes I saw the post about tickets…all gone. It was getting a bit late anyway as it’s a 7+ hour drive to Auckland. I usually do it over two days. Never mind, another time. It would just be easier to buy the d..n tickets!!!

    I really hope it’s true about Madonna talking to Adam about their mashup of the songs. I love her and love her Ghosttown. Don’t understand why her’s didn’t do well other than the music changing so fast. If you don’t have hip hop or rapping in your songs, radio won’t play it.

    Awww Kiwi. That’s a long drive either way. Crossing my fingers for NZ concert for you after the OZ tour. QAL will be in South America in September and even though I’m in Miami, those countries they’re doing are not near. Almost a 9 hr flight from here so I will cross my fingers for a UK QAL tour next year (Glastonbury anyone?) and wait for that and a solo tour of some kind here.
    Very sorry to hear both your moms passed cwm. I had my mom for 2 months recently but now she’s back in Toronto. We have to do what we can to take care of them as long as we are blessed to have them. I am heading up to Toronto next week for hubby’s uncle-in-law’s funeral on the weekend so will help my sister with her while I’m there. She’s doing okay heathwise and is in her own happy world and according to her she’s perfectly fine. What to say? She’s happy and pleasant but told me a few times that I was bossy. Smile
    Ron, tlkc, northernspirit, my other Canadian friends, I’ll do my best to get downtown midweek when I get there and try to see who I can. My sister already informed me that I’m on mom duty while I’m there so I have been forewarned. Snicker Cait, apal, nekkid, rs, it’s tough. I know what y’all are going through. Mom has dementia and AZ. So sorry I don’t live near her to help more.

    Nice to see you post, cwm. When the album came out there was a little talk about favorites but not too much as favorites seemed to change every day. Now that it’s been out for a bit here are mine in no particular order although I would like TOH to be the next single.

    GT, TOH, Lucy, The Light, EITN, UG, After Hours. Honestly the only song I don’t connect with is Heavy Fire.
