Adam_Instagram-Sweden

Adam starts off August down under in Australia and New Zealand as he continues his global promotion for his new album. TV performances on The Voice and the Today Show are followed by a show in New Zealand. Adam then heads back to the US where he will headline the iHeart WSOBV concert. The ESKA music awards is next along with some other European promo stops before he heads (most likely) to England to reconnect with Brian and Roger for rehearsals for their South American concerts in September. And who knows what else will happen between the scheduled events!

Enjoy the chat!

That’s not to say there’s a “Call Me Maybe” among the 12 gleaming tracks — and, insomuch as manufacturing a global sensation is possible, it may be by design. “We had the biggest single in the world last time and didn’t have the biggest album,” said Scooter Braun, Ms. Jepsen’s manager and the co-executive producer (along with Mr. Bieber) of “Emotion,” which will be released by Mr. Braun’s Schoolboy Records and Interscope. “This time we wanted to stop worrying about singles and focus on having a critically acclaimed album.” Such consistency has been essentially nonexistent in following up novelty singles that went beyond viral — Baauer’s “Harlem Shake,” “Gangnam Style” by Psy, another act of Mr. Braun’s

Shoshanna said something similar when TOH first launched. I guess the volatility of the music business has forced labels to rethink the quick hit in favour of long term, solid career.

Love that pic up top so much! TBH better than July. It doesn’t seem to be posed. “Stand over there so we can take a picture” vibe. No pursed lips. I was very happy he said in effect that he doesn’t want to prostitute himself in photos.

So I am waiting for the cable guy. My Internet, tv and phone have been out for 24 hours due to a cable line down. Hate using the eye phone for anything !

    Love that NYT article, TLKC.

BUT I was in the mall here this evening and suddenly…what to my listening ears did appear? ‘Another Lonely Night’!!!!
To many of you, that is no big deal but I have NEVER heard Adam in a store here! (Except once in Office Max I heard WWFM, but I hate that song so it didn’t count, and was only once, a long time ago, in a store with an older clientele).
And the store tonight was H&M, full of teens and twenty-somethings!

On Friday, GT was up from #38 to #34 on AC radio, to #16 from #18 on HAC (and nearing the 10 million AI mark, at 9.7), and at #27 on Top40 with 12.6 million AI. I think next week will be better with the Cumulus adds kicking in.
Don’t understand radio tho – they play the crap out of KC’s two not very good songs that are way below Adam on iTunes, and her album not doing so well either. Also, Tori’s song isn’t doing as well on iTunes. And several artists have more than one song on released very close together. Maybe Warner should do two next, ALN and TOH or EITN or some other……whatever. Question

  43. Cait1602 says:

Adam is such a busy bee. Really I thought a few days ago I had caught up to him but this morning I really saw the amount of promo stuff he had done the last few weeks. Totally amazing.

I am quite pleased at how well he is doing in Germany as well. He is slowly but surly climbing the charts. Makes me happy and hopeful. That helped me through my last weeks, knowing he is doing well all over the world.

My bfs mom was diagnosed with high grade dementia and had to be taken to a care facility, not being able to care for herself anymore. The dementia was caused by a countless of mini-strokes over the past ten or 15 years – at least thats what the docs have told us. The strokes were so minor she didnt even feel anything but maybe a small headache or dizzy spell. We had some problems with her for a few years now, she didnt let us in her house for years now, threatening to call the police if we try to enter without her approval. The times we tried to visit her, she wasnt home or didnt open the door for us.

What we didnt know… her house is a total mess, for years it seems. She lived with two cats and one big dog for years in the house without any cleaning, no heating, electricity or any real water supply. She was bathing at a local swimming pool center, living on take-out or so. We dont know. It was a lot to take in – still is. We know have to try to sort everything out, cleaning up the house, sorting through the mess, trying to get a outline what she had done the past few years.

And we still try coping with our own failures, we knew something was wrong but…she was always a bit eccentric and were more than annoyed with her not sticking to appointments, forgetting and asking again and again for things but not letting us help more than she wanted us…

Its so hard to see her now, so confused and angry at us for putting her in a care facility even though we hadnt had any choice.

Thats why seeing Adam so happy, seeing his Glamberts so happy brightens my days atm. For a few hours each day while driving to work, to bfs mom house, to her care facility I can listen to his music, his live performances, his interviews ( when I have time to dl them )…it reminds me that there is still something great happening out there and have me look forward to next year, giving me someting to hold on when it gets a bit too much.

    So enough of my rambling.

I truly hope everything is ok. I missed talking and discussing with you guys. In the last 6 months you all really grew on me Razz Wink

Have a nice sunday, hopefully see you all soon on here.

  44. rs says:

Oh Cait, I am so glad you felt that you could share with us what you are going through! It is so difficult dealing with issues of ailing parents and it is like walking on a tightrope as to how much you can intervene.
When parents are adamant and say NO you don’t want to intrude and take away their independence. And they often don’t realize that they need help. But one thing you can’t feel is guilty. As soon as you realized that something was very wrong, you took action. Many of us here have been dealing with elderly parents so we know how difficult it is. My father had been very proud of the fact that at 95 he was living independently in a senior citizens complex here. But he gradually ate and drank less and less, and said he wasn’t hungry when I tried to give him something and refused to eat. He lost lots of weight and wound up in hospital with malnutrition and dehydration, low blood pressure and a possible silent heart attack! And I live a block away and spoke to him a few times a day and saw him a number of times a week! Thank goodness we caught things in time and he realized that he needed help. Now he has a lovely man from Sri Lanka living with him, he has gained weight and is much better. I felt terribly guilty about letting things go as far as they had, but he was sooooo insistent that he was fine, and I wanted to believe that.

Your bf’s mother is getting the care she needs now and that is what is important.

And isn’t Adam something wonderful to have to help you get through this hard time? And of course, the support and ear of other Glamberts.

Stay in touch with us when you can. We missed you!Hug Left Heart Hug Right

  45. apal123 says:

    Cait,

I’m so sorry for your troubles and it hits so close to home. On Thursday my husband of 30 years was diagnosed with dementia and he is only 60 years old. I knew something was wrong but at first the doctors attributed his behavior to acute depressioñ and kept increasing his antidepressants. Finally I got them to do an MRI and gave me the results. They started him on A drug that may slow down the process but we have to wait and see. So I come here because Adam has always brought such joy to my life and reàl life is sometimes overwhelming. He has had so many obstacles to overcome and he has done it with dignity and humor and hard w9rk. He inspires me to keep on going! Anyway, I will keep you in my thoughts ànd prayers and hope to see you posting more in the future.

  46. TLKC says:

Very sorry to hear what you are going through, Cait. It’s very hard to reach out to someone who is by nature independent. They often shut out loved ones when things start to go wrong because they aren’t ready to deal with what is happening to them. Sending good thoughts your way as you deal with this.

  47. TLKC says:

Adam lost a SNOL spin last night, so GT will drop at least one spot on tonight’s weekly, published charts. There are a lot of recurrents next week. If we can get back the second spin on SNOL then things will be fine.

The worst thing we can do now is become so discouraged that we let up on the efforts. WWFM took 5 months and it flunctuated, too.

Warner and Adam have to be committed to GT until at least the end of September. Adam’s schedule requires he be out of the US for much of that month. Also, GT is doing very well in some countries and, knowing how fans are, they won’t want to slow it’s momentum there with a new release in the US.

The most important thing is to keep the spins as high as possible. More radio play, means more sales, which means a longer and bigger tour etc. The chart spot isn’t as important.

GT shot up to #2 in iTunes there (barely passing 1D which I think he might) and TOH shot up to #1 in iTunes there.

I hope you can get a bit of comfort out of that Cait. So sorry to hear what you are going through. Can’t imagine how you feel since I’ve never had to cope with something like this, but hope you stay strong and find peace again with the situation.
