Hehe…that about sums it up for me, too.
But it has been clear here and elsewhere that there has been a certain level of angst, a sense of disloyalty to Freddie for loving Adam so much with Queen.
My take on it (and I never knew Queen in the Freddie days but have fast-tracked a quick study of all things Queen so that I could appreciate Adam in this place) is that Freddie would be absolutely delighted that Brian and Roger have this twilight tour, not as an oldies group (which they frankly would be, if Freddie was touring with them), but as something newly exciting and dynamic and organic, another stage of development in their music. I think that Freddie would be grateful to Adam for making this possible for his old friends. Even more so, because of Adam’s gracious and obvious respect for his predecessor – Adam is re-cobbling Freddie’s shoes and making them fit his different feet, not throwing them out for a new pair. I get the feeling that everyone on that stage feels Freddie among them.
So I see no reason at all for any sense of disloyalty.
I make the analogy of a spouse who passes away – a loving spouse would want his or her survivor to find someone wonderful and make a new life with that person.
There will be inevitable comparisons between the two, but that is neither disloyal to #1 nor disrespectful to #2 (IMHO)
Off now to see what the day will bring!

Regarding Adam’s future solo music – I do wonder how Adam and his fans will react to going from the grand stage (and grand budget) of the Q+AL tour, performing some of the most iconic songs in rock music history in front of packed arenas, to the much smaller stages of clubs and theaters which may or may not be sold out, on what is likely to be a smallish or even shoestring budget, performing a mix of his new music and material from the first two albums.
It will be quite an adjustment for all involved.
Given the general downward trend of album sales across the music industry, and what will very likely be a reduced promo budget compared to Trespassing, IMO it will take a big radio hit to produce sales numbers even close to what we saw from the previous two albums. Lacking that radio airplay, the sales numbers would likely not be pretty.
Assuming the new material is released sometime this winter, I would expect initially just a small number of radio concert dates next spring and early summer, similar to May-June 2012 after Trespassing was released. Likely would see a few stand-alone “traditional” Adam concert locations such as Fantasy Springs and Pacific Amphitheater as well. Any extensive touring beyond that will likely require improved sales or airplay or both. There could be another Asian mini-tour regardless, since Adam is very popular there and I think those dates may produce better income returns for the promoters than North American dates do.

eywflyer, sobering words. I have been thinking also about the contrast between Queen on tour and Adam on tour. Yes, it is definitely going to be a striking contrast…I even posted a bit ago about it, after watching an early glamnation youtube that looks very much like a high school production.
But I don’t think the picture is quite as dark as you paint it, or at least I hope not!
I think that a few additional things might factor in here:
1. The association with Queen MIGHT make radio more willing to play Adam’s new music. More radio play of course = more sales.
I put ‘might’ in all caps because we have thought that a lot of things could increase radio play, and we have been wrong. But if anything could pop that lock for Adam, touring with Queen could be it.
2. A new label could be willing to put a more significant investment into promotion/tour.
3. Adam believes in his music and loves his fans and (more than most performers) both feels indebted to us and wants/needs to perform live. We saw that very starkly in Ste Agathe, when he had not done a live performance for a lengthy period and was so eager for that connection and so patently delighted to be with us. He has the financial resources now to put some of his own money into a tour, and I think that augmenting what the label will spend might seem to him like a good way to spend his $.
4. I think that the Queen concerts have really demonstrated/underscored to the industry – who are doubtless watching this tour as they have not necessarily been watching Adam – that Adam’s fans are almost unimaginably loyal. WE are a good investment for long-term viability of Adam as a money-making performer in their stable.
But for now…bring on the music and let’s see what happens!

ITA, turquoise. There is more $$$ to be made in an arena, but I think those venues are harder on the voice (?), and I would definitely mourn the loss of the intimacy of the smaller venues. From time to time I watch my vids from Trabendo in Paris, his smallest venue on the Glamnation tour – only about 700 capacity. A tiny stage, literally right in front of me and on my eye level. I know that THAT will never happen again, but perhaps something the size of Wilkes Barre, at least from time to time. It is a very different energy than that of an arena, and I think that Adam craves both.

Oh geezz, I feel very sad. Joan Rivers is on life support. Her daughter Melissa was more than a daughter, they were best friends. What she must be going through now.
I did laugh out loud when Joan was doing a critique of Adam on her show “Fashion Police”. I forget the photo, the occasion, but he was at some high profile function.
Paraphrasing. Joan, looking at Adam’s photo: “I LOVE this! Everything is just perfect! The makeup, the eyes, the hair. This is what every woman can only hope to look like”.
Usually, something like that, (comparing a gay man to a woman) would send my blood pressure through the roof but the way she did it was very funny.
I feel so sad about Joan Rivers, I really liked her.
Who recently posted that funny bit she did with the winner of RuPaul? Her speech was quite slurred in it, several of us posted about that.
Meds? A small stroke? What was this important surgery, why was it needed? What were her surgical risks?
Something here frankly does not add up. In my humble, health care provider opinion.
