As July ends, so does a fantastic series of concerts by Queen and Adam across North America. It will be a summer that many ALLers will never forget! Q+AL take a few weeks break before heading off to Asia and then for concerts Down Under. If the reception there is anything like it was here, Q+AL can expect to get some major loving!

    Where has this fellow been? Doesn’t read as though he’s paid very much attention to much of what all three QAL members – Adam, Bri & Roger – have said, other press releases or much of the tour, itself? Question

    Just a wee bit homework can avoid so many problems and inaccuracies…

    ulti, a good bit of his article was favorable… Not all bad.

    But, the part you mentioned did seem a bit ignorant.

    I also wasn’t fond of this:

    Combined with Now I’m Here being an underwhelming opener, the starting sequence left the capacity audience a little cold.

    The audience “a little cold”. And how does he know this?

    Did he interview audience members to check for “coldness”?

    As for “underwhelming opener”…..
    It’s a bit annoying to me when one man’s personal opinion/editorial is presented as everyone else’s fact; taking no other facts or person’s account into factor before press release.

    Anyway, I suppose he just sounds a bit uppity to me.
    (guess his little bow tie was tied too tight… or, maybe his favorite tea & crumpets were stale that day? lol)

    It’s his review, in my opinion, that’s “underwhelming”.
    Compliments seem a little bland. Quality of writing is so-so.
    Maybe it’s just me. IDK

    Have been emailing back and forth with one of my Australian colleagues about the Brisbane show. (He’s a musician (drummer) about Adam’s age – you may remember that he reviewed Trespassing in detail a while back and I posted his review here.)

    Anyway, I sent him some of the great reviews from the Perth show, as well as the clip from the Today show, and this is what he said in reply:

    “The shows are going bananas – the hype surrounding this tour is truly remarkable! In fact, I can’t remember such a buzz surrounding a gig like this in a long, long while..!”

The Maori welcoming ceremony is very precise, with specific things that happen in specific ways, and out of respect for the culture and the magnitude and meaning of the event it was important to me to get it right! Beforehand, we were most nervous when we learned that we were expected to sing something to the Chief, so we were frantically trying to figure out what song we could sing that would be appropriate to the event. Fortunately, it turned out that we were just supposed to repeat after him! Phew – that I can do!

    Kiwi – that’s very cool that you used to live nearby the caves! Do you still live on the North Island?

    I just don’t understand why it didn’t get more press in the US….was there any mention on tv, ENews etc, morning shows etc at all once the concerts started???

    Have seen it mentioned many times on twitter too about the lack of press in the US.

    HK Fan – he definitely wants to go, but doesn’t have much money and is overworked right now and keeps dragging his feet on finding tickets. I keep pushing and pushing him. I sure hope he manages to get tickets because I’ll have a hard time forgiving him if he lets himself miss it. Razz
