As July ends the “Trespassing” touring era now seems to be over with the last show at Paso Robles. But work continues as Adam is to be part of the Glee cast and also is guesting on Avicii’s new single “Lay Me Down”. It may be quiet on the touring front but there are always surprises.     You’d think, Reese, with all the blather of “Same Love” and so many performers pontificating about how tolerant they are (some sincerely, of course), that Idol would want Adam on. But that EQ article certainly disabuses one of that notion.

    glambotgram here is one possibility. I already opened it to the Glee season 4 page for you. You just have to try different links to see which work best for you. Some are slower than others. If It keeps stopping you can put it on mute and then come back after it has loaded for a while and start from the beginning. I never download them, I just do the “watch now” free user options. Never had any problems with viruses, they just open up advertising pages that I just close. Gorillavid always works very well for me. If it doesn’t work, let me know and we will try some other sites.

    Glad you guys appreciated “The Scientist” from Glee. It is, IMHO, the best performance they have done to date. It is so well choreographed, lit, the cinematography, the flashbacks to how each couple got together, then knowing that in this episode they all broke up. So emotional, and even more so with Finn’s/Corey’s death. Very poignant.

    My reply:

    Idol producers don’t want an openly gay man on the panel.

    Interesting.

    If Elton John, Neil Patrick Harris, or George Michael – the list goes on – expressed an interest in being a judge on this show, these same producers would turn down each of them because they’re openly gay?

    Adam Lambert is not in the same echelon as the three gentlemen that I’ve named but I would wager that the Idol business suits would hire Elton, Neil, or George in a heartbeat without a thought about their sexuality or the effect that any one of them would have with “middle America”.

    I respect the writing and views of the author of this article – “they’re afraid to turn off viewers with an openly gay judge like Adam” – but in the context of what I’ve offered Mr. Clarendon – why is Adam Lambert seemingly a separate entity from the other openly gay male entertainers who enjoy popular success and acceptance?

    I will look forward to your thoughts should you choose to reply.

    Hi Ron!
    I liked your reply to the article. I don’t see why Adam’s sexuality should be any more of an issue than anyone else’s, but then I’ve been saying that for years. His, or anyone’s, sexuality shouldn’t be part of American Idol. The judges should be there for their expertise and experience in music, which Adam has plenty.

    I don’t even know if I want him associated with that show anymore. Thinking

    My only answer as to why the others are accepted, is that they didn’t come out publicly until after they were successful, but we all knew that.
    And yes, I’m sure the producers would jump at the chance to hire any of those.

    Ron, I thought that was an excellent reply.

    I am insulted that everyone in the media assumes that Idol is catering to conservatives by not having Adam on the panel. I’m not buying that the conservative element is holding him back, I think it’s the liberal view of the conservatives that is the problem. There are assumptions made that are simply untrue.

    Those who are so narrow-minded that they would not watch Idol if Adam was on the panel probably aren’t watching the show anyway. I’d say give Adam a chance, if he wants it. If it doesn’t work out, the show can fold (as it might anyway without him). If it does work out, it’s another milestone that he’s achieved that will benefit those who come after him.

    Well, that’s the end of Idol for me – Can’t stand Harry or his music – same goes for JLo – whatisname is a neuter – won’t balance out the other two. What a boring panel – have no interest in any of their opinions. Will check the Top Ten on MJ’s.
