As July ends the “Trespassing” touring era now seems to be over with the last show at Paso Robles. But work continues as Adam is to be part of the Glee cast and also is guesting on Avicii’s new single “Lay Me Down”. It may be quiet on the touring front but there are always surprises.     Sistasif, thank you for missing me!
    I have not posted for a while, and will only be checking in from time to time for the foreseeable future, mostly as a lurker.
    Birthdays are a good time to take stock of one’s life, and this is a milestone birthday…29! (Times 2 and a bit..).
    Last week, saw some photos of myself taken at an event…I looked exhausted, and not too healthy. It was a real wake-up call…I knew it had been a hard year, but life is incremental and I didn’t realize the toll it was taking.
    So I am taking a sabbatical from everything for a year. Gonna take off my dancing shoes and sit on the sidelines for a while, write that novel, do some yoga, and spend time with peeps I love. For those of you familiar with Voltaire, imma cultivate my garden.
    This week and next, I am working through divesting my various social and organizational obligations, so that I can unchain myself from my computer. I know that if I check in here, it is a slippery slope, and I will get sucked back into the organizations and causes that I am trying to extricate myself from during my sabbatical. So, you won’t be seeing my posts, but I am fine and just taking some time to put my RL house in order for the next decade.
    I’m pretty sure that Adam will be okay without my input and advice.

    From personal experience, it is amazing what shedding the yoke of responsibilities and taking care your own soul can do for your physical and mental wellbeing.

    Take care of yourself and do check in from time to time, even if it is just to show us your avi and send a little Wink to let us know that all is fine. When you are ready to return, we will still be here being our usual Glambert selves.

    jlurks, I just saw on the news here another report about the massive fire raging in California in your area and threatening Yosemite National Park. I don’t know how close you live to the fire, but I remember you wrote a few days ago that you could smell the smoke. I have no idea if you have time to get here to check in, but I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and hope that you are faring well. Stay safe, my friend.

    eta: my favorite part is right after the girl in the red dress does the split…the guy who turns his face…he’s spell binding to me with his androgynous look.

    So.

    I’m at work today, and we have a new girl working in my department, we are all having a nice lunch, and gabbing about the VMA’s, Miley, yada yada. It’s a fun lunch, I’m thinking to myself.

    Then.

    The new girl asks ” Does anybody here watch Idol? Who do you think the judges will be?”

    I say, well, I hear Dr Luke is out, I hope a former Idol get it.

    Then she says. I am not kidding

    ” I hope Adam Lambert gets it. I f*cking LOVE him!!”

    Now peeps. It was her tone, her facial expression, her way of saying this.

    After lunch, I took her to a quiet area and took ’em out. Showed her my pics. She was almost falling over. We fangirled, and she was just over the moon. Her daughter loves him too.

    But, she had no f*cking idea he had an album, no f*cking idea he has been doing so much. I’m bringing her a DVD and sending her some links.

    ((( I’m so happy. BTW, my other workberts are going strong. Love it. ))

    I didn’t watch Miley but what really bothered me was Gaga sitting bare assed in the audience. I mean who wants to sit in that chair after that. Smile It was ok for the performance but please put some clothes on to sit next to other people. Thinking

    lol…I thought it was kind of odd that Gaga was bare-assed in the audience. If she maybe put on some kind of sarong, it would have been beautiful even if she kept the clams on top. Smile
