Oh AL, how magical! Loved your wild abandoned risk, in buying those tickets. I wished I had been one of those gals!
Loved the souvenir pamphlet you created.
It is not too hard to imagine the impact of that concert on you. You’re still holding on to that experience, and I LOVE that! Close to your heart.
Thanks for sharing that story, and it’s impact on you.
Sure is, AL!
P.S. Ever see any of those fans again?
Wow, I have never looked at the complete FYE concert thread. Very, very impressive. So much work keeping all those stats, etc. When you look at all the sold out venues, it is hard to believe that the 2nd album didn’t sell enough to warrant a full tour. A belated Thank You to EYWFLYER who I believe put all those together. And Thank You to AL for keeping things rolling along.

lol
It sorta looks like he let out some glittered gas!
So, I wonder if this has anything to do with the VMA’s, or something else…..Could he possibly also be performing?? As a surprise?

I just deleted my last post which was Adam’s latest tweet. It almost seemed like a scam ad about weight loss. I couldn’t get it off my computer and I couldn’t even edit my post and replace it with something else!
ulti Thanks for this:

VMA’s are on Sunday at 9pm ET, and we can also view them on Canada’s MTV. I wonder if Adam’s performing or presenting? I suspect if he was performing he’d have tipped us off already, but I’ll be happy just to see him on-stage & on TV again
So excited – can’t wait!!
luval I saw that tweet too and had a good laugh at some of the immediate tongue-in-cheek fan responses. Some of my feed on Twitter have the best senses of humour!
Poor Adam’s going to have to now change his password, I guess.
I am just now catching up on the posts from last night and today. I have a bit of a summer flu and wasn’t comfortable sitting in my desk chair with no neck support. So I will try to condense all my comments to one post.
First of all, dear cwm, I was so glad to see your beautiful, colorful avi today. I know that RL has been difficult, emotionally draining, and time consuming for you for a while now, and it warms my heart to know that you feel that you can come here for some respite, fun and distraction. My thoughts are with you and your family and I look for your avi every day. (Of course I couldn’t do without your comments or the Adam “stuff” you bring, lol)
.
AL,I totally agree with you and really hope to meet you in person and share a concert experience with you one day.
Mils,I saw that full frontal (almost) of Northman when the episode aired, but I couldn’t enjoy it so much because of what came after. Does that mean that he is leaving the series?
And finally, YAY for the VMA’s! YAY for all the love Adam is getting from Nile, Avicii, the Idol producers (whether he is on the show or not) and everybody else who counts. So what if he isn’t played on mainstream radio! Who listens to mainstream radio if they can help it nowadays? And who is played on mainstream radio? Bieber? Rap&crap? Gaga, who is losing it? Nobody who has any staying power. Adam is creating , working constantly , diversifying, making a good living and getting critical acclaim . I would say that his life is good.
Well, here ya go!
angelowal…you were right!
WOW!!!
I was away with a plumbing problem, then when I got back, without thinking .. clicking on Adam’s tweet telling me to lose weight and to be my trainer. Then my computer went bonker. His twitter was hacked.
Awww .. so Adam hasn’t changed his career dued to no label nor good sales on album #2 … according these funny tweets.
LOL
That is exactly my impression.
The naysayers can quit. Adam is here to stay.
So this is what he’s doing:
Love that wink
kinda funny to me
wow…nitenursestat is really stat!

LOL
AL So enjoyed your story of the first concert for you! Thanks for sharing it. And your pamphlet was terrific. And here you are 4 years later still sharing and entertaining.
And twilightmagic8 thanks for being the catalyst in making that happen. Looking forward to going through those 2 shows posted!
At River Rock, we ended up only being five in the room since one person only needed the ticket but shared in the sparkling wine and food too. We were a married hetero couple in their 50’s, a lady in her forties, a 70+ former Brit now living in the area and gay me. I had originally organized a dinner for the six of us but the word spread and we had a pretty large group.
Before the dinner, I waited to give the room key and ticket to the people in my group. Everyone was there but no 70+ lady. I had spoken with her on the phone but never asked for a description – just told her where to meet me. In all her excitement, she went straight to the dinner before checking in. I assumed that she would be like my mother with grey hair but no, she turned out to be a real fire-cracker with bright red hair – a former dance teacher. Needless to say, I ended up being the last one at the dinner when I finally met her. After the show, she and the husband of the married couple compared heart surgery scars before going out for a smoke and drinking scotch that she brought. They were a fun group.
I did go for dinner a few months later with the married couple and brought my partner along. The dance teacher called me about a year later to say that she had refound her passion and was moving out of the suburbs to a more vibrant part of Vancouver. I have not spoken or seen anyone from the group since then although I just recently reconnected with the wife of the married couple on LinkedIn.
And in other Adam news, I heard WWFM completely for the first time on the radio here in my small town on Vancouver Island. They had played IIHY a while back too but I have never heard any Trespassing songs.
Great Stories AL Adam does bring people together.
This is our Idol!
AL Your story about River Rock is so cool! I dithered about flying out and buying tix for my sis who lives in YVR and me to either of the Vancouver concerts. Why? Because I knew he was going to be big! But I cheaped out because the flight was going to cost me $600 or more and the only tix I could find that were any good were around $300 or more. So I didn’t go. Kind of regretted it but…then we went and caught one of the Honolulu performances and had a great bonding week in Hawaii for only twice the price of what a few days in YVR were going to cost!
Ahhh, luval we do only go for the most sober & sophisticated of men, don’t we? LOL

My biggest regret is that I didn’t go out to Fantasy Springs for Adam’s 1st solo concert – that was superlative in every way possible – he was so beautiful and sensual in those feathers, the venue was small and relatively intimate and he sang that slow arrangement of WLL which is still to-die-for.
Thanks to twilightmagic8 for finding the two RR Canada concert videos and starting me reminiscing about the River Rock concert.
Here are the threads for:
Red Robinson
and
River Rock
You can also access them under the FYE ERA tab up top then under “DEC 2009 – MAY 2010” category,
Well thank you everyone, I worked very hard back then to capture the best video possible. Sue had some problem’s & mishaps, so I hunted for other video’s.
That very night that I was working very diligently on these videos, was a very eventful night for me, and changed my life forever. I was having so much fun gathering my video treasure’s, to share with my sister’s.
Need-lest to say it turned bitter bitter sweet, in real life that very night.
Ceddie knows. What a sweetheart she was, and later she even sent me a Christmas card that year.
It has taken me this long to go back and watch them, and I do love them.
So glad you all enjoyed the dip back into the glitter pool!
Thank you twilightmagic8 and AL.
AL, I loved your sharing your story & nuances from The River Rock concert. You made me laugh, with your wild abandon cavilier attitude.
I am happy, you put the video’s in the FYE Area, where they belong.
I did the best I could do with the videos, way back then.
Sharing our Adam adventure’s is such fun!!!
Thanks to eywflyer for this place to escape to!!!
We are so very lucky!

Remember this shirt?
Yay! MTV’s will also be on MTV Sky in New Zealand. The red carpet is also on Monday from 12:00.Award show from 13:00 to 15:30. I think the whole thing is a live broadcast.
Not sure that tweet OK here – took down – was damn funny though.
Look what happens when I step away from my computer for a day…goes to set DVR to VMA’s…
Yayyayayayayaay!!
I’m thinking he’ll present for either the Daft Punk/Nile performance, or for the social message video– Macklemore should win IMHO
http://youtu.be/JPDcrxjEp3E
Haven’t watched this. 125 more memories to make us smile.
AL: thanks for sharing. All these wildly different and yet so similar people thrown together – that’s what makes an Adam concert.
I’m sure most of you have woke from a deep sleep and had a song spinning in your half awake mind. I did the other night and had to think a moment what the song was. It was to my surprise Lay Me Down. I reàlly hadn’t listen to it that much. It just proved to me that it has an earworm quality and real hit possiblities. Now radio DJ’s just don’t just love it, play it.
Where is this? Silver hair and clean face. Must be old/new photo.

This is me … been very happy lately with Adam’s news.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BSfLxotCEAAnpN0.jpg
This will make you smile and happy.
Awww asif – thank you so much for posting that surprise duet with Kristen Chenowith. That was delightful. What an absolutely wonderful moment for that audience member, Sarah Horn. She was fantastic!
You’re welcome … cwm.
Actually, for some reasons I thought of you and Adam when I saw this delightful video.
Adam and Kristen’ s duet. Kristen has been on Glee for many episodes.
And you, I imagine you’ll be singing like Sarah Horn at Carnegie Hall.
I’m happy for Sarah Horn. I think it will be a life changing moment for her. And she deserves it.
Loved that video, asif, Thanks. It is funny how Kristin Chenoweth has this thin, high voice when she speaks, but when she starts singing….wow!
You’re welcome … rs.
I read somewhere that Kristin is a classical or an opera trained singer.
I may be wrong. I like her singing and acting also.
How are you doing lately? Are you having a trip anytime soon? Our time zones are not the same anymore. I need some sleep in a few minutes.
Adam tweets
Good Night ALL.
As sistakrads …says …
Sweet Adam Dreams!
And I guarantee you that this photo will give you sweet Adam dreams.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BSb5Y7kCEAEPNE0.jpg
OMG asif – you are too kind! Haha I don’t claim to sing like Sarah Horn, nor will I be singing a solo, but it will be such a tremendous thrill to sing on the Carnegie Hall stage. I’m getting really excited for it!
And rs – Thank you for what you said upthread. That was so sweet and thoughtful of you. Life is really hard for my mom right now and it’s painful to see, but it’s good to be with her and supporting her in this transition. And it’s good for me to be able to come here at the end of the day and balance out the hard stuff with all of the good stuff here.
Oh and AL – loved your story! You are awesome. I feel privileged to have met you at the Puyallup show, because I think I’m one of the few here who has!
