I am pleased, too about Demi joining Glee for the reasons that aely stated. I couldn’t say anything about her singing but I saw her on X-Factor last year and she was the best judge of the four (and the youngest and the cheapest). She struck me as bright, caring, and took her job seriously.

Looks like I should clarify myself. I’m at work so I have to be brief (hah!). It was certainly not my intent in my post last night to cause hard feelings or make people feel defensive or like they needed to take sides, or to silence anyone! C’mon, after all this time, you know me better than that. I’m a peacemaker down to my core! In fact, in my post, I was careful to say that folks might disagree with me about posting negative impressions and that that’s ok!
I included hearts and smilies and “LOL” and “I love you guys” to try to convey that I was just sharing my own feelings, not trying to create a showdown with anyone.
luval and ulti – of course you are allowed to post negative impressions here of Adam’s friends or Adam or whatever! This blog does not prohibit any of that. Nor should it! We don’t all have to agree, nor do we have to be positive all the time.
But by the same token, I had my own legitimate (to me) feelings and reactions about Adam’s friends and what was being said about them, and I felt that I had the right to speak my thoughts as well. A lot of negative things had been said about them, and I wanted to put in a word for an alternative way of looking at them or thinking about them.
Some of what had been said about them was indeed amusing and said “in fun.” I know that. But some of it felt to me like it went beyond being in fun; instead some of it felt kind of harsh to me. It reminded me of the way Sauli would be attacked by some fans for being a “famewhore,” a “leach,” a “good-for-nothing,” etc. That always made my heart hurt. That’s my own reaction, though, and I own it. (The stress of dealing with my mother’s health situation may be making me more sensitive to negativity as well.) If the comments weren’t intended that way, ok, I understand and accept that. It just rubbed me the wrong way at the time, and I wanted to speak up about my desire to give the new guys the benefit of the doubt (or at least get to know a little more about them) before we tear them down.
I certainly didn’t say it to “silence” anybody. I apologize if that’s how it came across.
So goodness, please, don’t go away, and don’t stop posting your thoughts and feelings. And I’ll keep posting my thoughts and feelings, too. Sometimes we’ll agree and sometimes we won’t, and that’s fine! We can still be friends and we can still love Adam together.
I just wish to clarify that my comments in support of CWM’s thoughts about judging Adam’s friends “by their cover” was mostly with regard to the nasty stuff on the twitter-verse and how this might cause good guys to back away from Adam and leave him with only the hangers on types to socialize with. I seriously doubt that anything that we speculate on here could have that kind of impact, so was not directly referencing posts to this site. However, having said that, I do agree that our speculations would be more fun if couched in humor or our usual angst than the more negative comments that are uncomfortable for some, such as “sketchy” or ” fame whore”. But generally, I love speculating and everyone should feel free to say whatever they are feeling here and hopefully others that feel differently will not take it personally.
I also wish to apologize for my use of the “royal we” over-much in my post about judgments of Adam’s friends. I should have just states my feelings and reactions without the use of the royal we, since that makes it sound sort of like scolding. So I will try to remember to edit myself and only say “I feel” and not use the word we.

One thing I really love: The absolutely wonderful way everyone here expresses themselves. I could be a happy lurker forever! But, once you dip your toe into the posting pool and find it warm and pretty unthreatening, I’m afraid fear is overcome. I hope no one here ever succumbs to that fear again just because of differing views.
Because seems like we all come back sooner or later to the main thing we agree on, which is our love of one exceptional person.
I didn’t see any truly negative post regarding Adam’s friend, just honest first reactions to pictures as they became available.
We have always expressed those reactions, some agreeing, some not, and we move on to the next thing.

I thought of this too, but also of Adam’s tweet a few days ago about a new song he had just worked on, and he seems to like to get differing opinions. So, I wasn’t sure which tune Nile may have had stuck in his head. I’m hoping that Adam and Nile went somewhere after dinner to work on a new one.

Everyone is allowed to think whatever they want to think about a fellow blogger’s comment.
But not everything that one thinks needs to be expressed publicly with specific regard to another person’s contributions here.
It’s always best to err on the side of caution, of course.
If there’s the slightest chance of making a comment about another person’s post(s), or any general statements made elsewhere, that might cause anger and hurt feelings then, just a suggestion, don’t post it!
Nothing could be that important to post if it would run even the smallest risk of having a negative impact on anyone who posts on this blog.
Hell, if I’d submitted half of the comments I typed out but instead ended up deleting, AL would be sending me (a) toast for my 12,000th post by now.
At the same time, ron, we have to be aware just how public this blog is. I think that we sometimes forget that isn’t a group of friends expressing opinions privately. I mean, who would have thunk that the writer of that blog last week would have come here and seen my comment? So it isn’t just fellow blogger’s feelings that we have to be aware of.
I don’t see that anyone made any comment here that anyone should be upset about. If we can’t say what we feel here in what is supposed to be a safe haven from all the other blogs out there then we might as well disband.
It’s all in fun and there were no threats to anyone just what we felt about the succession of guys being trotted around.
The guy lost me when he grabbed Adam’s neck the way he did, I still feel like he is a hanger on type. But I could be proved wrong, it is a first impression. And I notice Adam is not doing any of the holding/grabbing. Just looked weird to me.
Now on twittersphere it is a whole other ballgame, lots of crays out there.

Y’know, I think that a lot of it is simply that everyone I have met from this blog (and doubtless those I haven’t met as well) are strong individuals with equally strong opinions. This results in two things:
1. We speak our minds.
2. We feel comfortable speaking our minds about other posts.
On the second, I am on team Ron (see his post above).
rs has a point about it being a public blog, but I think that the overall tone of ALL is extremely positive and sane, and I don’t think we need be concerned about the reaction of a hypothetical third party who might see an individual post.
It’s all good.

I honestly thought I was being helpful when I posted that travelogue video of Eli. And I believe it was, because the tone toward him changed completely after we saw that.
Whether Adam is “with” that new guy, or not, I think most of us just want him to be happy, healthy and making new music.
Let’s keep a few things in mind:
Adam is a grown man
Adam can date whoever he chooses to date
Adam has good taste in long-term friends
Adam will post pics of his special friend in special ways. Like holding hands on a red carpet, or in a photo shoot, or with his mom and Danielle.
Adam “apparently” insured his voice for mega bucks.
Adam can “smoke” whatever he wants to smoke. He is keenly aware of the needs of his glorious vocal cords.
Adam can share his clothes with anyone he chooses
Adam is very much in the public eye.
Adam can barely sneeze without twitter going insane
Adam has absolute cray fan groups.
Adam needs to make a statement again to advise his fans not to war with each other. IMHO.
Adam is going to be fantastic on Glee. With Lea. With Demi. With Curt. With Darren. With Naya.
Adam goes out to clubs. It is what he did pre-Idol, and post-Idol, on tour, while recording, while dating, he is a clubber.
Adam is a grown man
Adam is not a choir boy. It is what I adore about him most besides his voice.
Adam loves a surprise.
Adam is a tease, a flirt, a man who leaves clues for fans.
Adam makes me make lists.

I don’t worry a bit about who Adam sees. He has cocooned himself with trusted friends on the ‘inside’ of his life while being shrewd enough to be aware of those others with whom he has casual relationships – he’s one smart, careful dude, IMO, with a healthy dose of naughtiness rolled in, LOL.
I’m excited about Demi joining Glee – she has a ton of fans who will be now attracted to the show, will see and hear Adam and just ‘have’ to become fans of his too – all’s good.
Also, IMHO Adam was referring to a new song of HIS when he tweeted.
Nile was tweeting about a new song of HIS for Adam to record in a couple of hours.
Nile knows that Adam can be thrown a new song and lay it down good.
When Nile referred to Adam as “his man”, he was simply using slang to say that Adam is “top notch” in his books!!! That he is his friend and admires him. That he enjoys his company.
Those crays need to grow the frack up. Just grow up!!!

Hey guys, if I need to apologize about my rant……..IDK.
What I love about this blog, is that we are polite to each other. If we do disagree, we always come around, and make nice.
This separates us from other blogs, makes us unique, and keeps us coming back here.
So many of us know each other now in real life, and for those lurkers out there, please post. The only way we can get to know your input is if you post.
Many of us “met” at another site. And decided to have our own sandbox for certain reasons. Thank goodness.
Yes, I do go to just a couple of other sites, including our original one, because it simply has “news” of the type I am looking for in entertainment. This is not a news blog, it is a fan site. There is a big difference. And since most of us are “29”, there is an adult bend and interpretation that I enjoy.
Crays may lurk, I am aware, we are aware, but, unless someone posts, we won’t know who is out there. I am NOT NOT NOT inviting crays to post, don’t get me wrong, but, the possibility exists that Adommy, etc., are lurking.
To the crays, my simple advice, which applies to soooo many things in life is this:
Grow Up
and
Get. Over . It.
Don’t have to worry about Demi’s voice, they will clean it all up and make it sound great in the studio before the show airs.

Can’t say I’m bothered one way or the other about Demi Lovato joining Glee, have a couple of her songs and she seems nice but not a huge fan……must admit I was actually a bit worried that the news would take a bit of the limelight off Adam, but so far the press all seems to be very positive, and all mention Adam again, so it keeps his name out there.
(I actually prefer Selena Gomez singing/looks wise…)

The last three days have really sucked. So much smoke in the
air from mountain forest fires that everything has a orange
tint, hazy. Kind of like a overcast winter day but with temps
in the 90’s. Normally Sacramento area cools off at night to
the low/mid 60’s but no sea breeze right now.
