As July ends the “Trespassing” touring era now seems to be over with the last show at Paso Robles. But work continues as Adam is to be part of the Glee cast and also is guesting on Avicii’s new single “Lay Me Down”. It may be quiet on the touring front but there are always surprises.     On another note, it’s been a rough couple of days. My mom was hospitalized over the weekend with a vascular problem that may have robbed her permanently of her sight. Sending up hope that she may recover some of her sight now that the problem has been diagnosed and is being treated, but only time will tell.

    And then last night I found out that my fever, body aches, and tightness in my chest were due to my post-Peru cold having turn itself into pneumonia! Oh joy. Fortunately, I don’t feel too bad, so I’m still pretty functional.

    But I am worried about my mom. Big Frown

    I hope some tweets that video to Nancy, too. She would love it, not the least because it reminds everyone how cute she was.

    Checked out Avicii this morning – mainly hoping to see one of my tweets but there seems to be a big delay. I re-tweeted a couple of fake accounts I follow (The Queen and Shakespeare) and re-tweeted something semi-applicable to the moment with #TrueReveal. Think they’re screening them, though.

    RE: Eli – I really like him, too. As turqouisewaters says, it’s too early to say one way or the other about a relationship but it would signal an interesting change in Adam.

    As for Sauli, I love him and can definitely see the attraction for Adam. We need different things at different times in our lives and we gravitate to what we need.

    Remember when Adam told Jay Leno that he wanted someone to take care of him? At that point the biggest former love of his life had been Brad, who is a very complicated and challenging person with a wit that goes for the jugular. (IMHO Chokehold was about him.)

    Sauli appears to be uncomplicated, sunny, you-get-what-you-see person; a self-professed neat-nick and a good cook who posts recipes and pics of meals he has made. His love of animals and children is obvious in the vids and pics he posts as well. He offered a gentle sweetness and support that Adam needed when his career was in full throttle.

    Now that his life has slowed down a bit, maybe Adam is ready for a person as challenging as Brad but more mature. If Eli isn’t the person, it may very well be someone like him.

    What do I know? I am projecting big time. LOL.

    BTW – Gaga is getting flack for offering her monsters a M&G opportunity if they download Applause. The suggestion is that she is unfairly padding the sales but I think it is inspired. QUESTION: What can a paid for download give you that an illegal download can’t? ANSWER: a chance to meet your favourite singer. Why didn’t someone think of this sooner?

    The other charge is that she is giving her single away for free to anyone who buys the cd. Well, duh!!! That’s what most artists, Adam included, do. Those downloads don’t count towards charting.

    AVICII’s stunt is a clever marketing exercise, too; not just about the cover. The reveal is playing on my computer while I type this and the beat of his new song has burned itself onto my brain. As long as all of those listening don’t get sick of it, the beat has insidiously worked it’s way into their heads.

    ITA with folks thoughts re: Eli. Seems like a thoughtful guy with really good values and self-insight. Having him as a friend (romantic or otherwise) makes sense for Adam. He seems to find good people and keep them close. Sauli will always hold a special place in my heart since he gave Adam exactly what he needed at that time. He also was a wonderful muse for an inspiring CD and a confident partner in Adam’s public forrays as an openly gay couple.

    Have to head out to work but wanted to find time to do a quick connect.

    cwm, my thoughts are with you and your mother, and I am hoping for the best possible recovery of her sight. And you, girl, take care of yourself! Pneumonia is not something to make light of.     My take on Eli Lieb: I love his music video, his travelblog, and interviews that I have read. He seems very bright, talented, thoughtful, and capable of holding his own in an deep conversation with Adam in a way that Sauli would have never have been able, or truthfully, been interested in doing.I agree that Sauli was exactly what Adam needed at the time and I will forever be thankful for the love they shared and the positive results of their time together. But Adam has spoken of finally looking for a more mutual relationship, and he might have found it with Eli. I have a feeling that they might be together, and the fact that they aren’t publicizing it is a sign that they are taking things seriously and want to build something slowly away from all the scrutiny and craziness of the bright lights. If it is true, I am all for it, and if they are “just friends” that is fine too. But have you seen how adorable he is? Just Adam’s type In Love

    Yes, it is exhausting, but I care. I care a lot. As much as I would love for him to cut ties, it would be stupid. These new producers obviously love and respect him so who knows what that could lead to down the road. So, he needs to play the game. Plus, any time Adam’s name starts making a news cycle it is great even if it is frustrating for the fans.

    Just watched the Boots/ Adam/Nancy Sinatra mash up video. It is simply wonderful, I honestly don’t care for a lot of fan-made vids like these, but this one is terrific.

    And where/what is that pose at 2:40-ish from? Is it from a Japanese photo-shoot? Wow.

    FWIW, after reading that interview from Idol producers, I honestly don’t think they were hinting at Adam being a judge, I think their statements are just what they said, that they value him, know he adds a lot to the show, that viewers respond to him whenever he’s on, but that he will simply contribute in some way, as he has every single year since season 8.

    Is there any other Idol who has been on every single year? Who has the data?

    Thanks for the kind thoughts for my mom and for me, everyone. It means a lot. I’m feeling much better. For my mom, it’s going to be a big adjustment process. No improvement to speak of at this point.

    On AFL-related matters, I agree that the new round of press speculating about Adam judging Idol is over-interpreting what the producers said in the original interview. They said that (a) Adam is beloved; (b) his name was put out there for judge along with a bunch of other names; (c) he’s a big part of the show; and (d) it’s great to have him on. All of which is great, but it doesn’t mean they’re currently considering him for judge. I would love it if they found some kind of role for him. Mentor would be perfect.

    Is Sauli really moving back to Finland permanently? I haven’t seen any chatter about it on twitter. Do we know for sure that he’s moving back, rather than just going back for another extended visit? If so, I’m sad for him because from what he said a few months ago, it sounded like he really liked it in LA, was planning on staying in LA, and really wanted to make it work there. Plus, his leaving would pretty much spell the end of any kind of continuing close friendship with Adam.

    I agree with what others of you have said that Sauli will always hold a special place in the fandom’s heart because he gave Adam exactly what Adam needed at that time and he was a ray of sweet, happy sunshine for Adam and for all of us. And he’s a little hottie as well. I wish him all the best.

    Nice post cwm. Glad you are feeling better, and hoping the best for your mom.

    Sauli looks so sad in his pic. Maybe his visa is expiring. Too bad, he seemed to really love sunny LA. Maybe he should have become a student, and gotten a student visa. That’s what my hubby did many moons ago.

    As a fan, I’ll always look back on Sauli as someone who just genuinely made Adam happy, helped him be healthier, got him exercising and eating healthier, and as a result, many of us had a little extra inspiration to juice, eat kale and use our treadmills.

    And, he inspired Adam to write some beautiful music.

    Those eyes just looked so very sad.

    I think I recall Sauli saying that he would be returning to Finland for a month or two, but then would be back in LA.
    His show begins airing in Finland soon, I think.

    Sauli’s sad eyes just about did me in. I read on Atop that he may be in Finland for months, his show starts in September and he may guest on a lifestyle show. Maybe he will resume his popular shows with Katri.
    They called it the end of an era, as he had unfollowed Adam on IG, and Adam has removed his profile background on Twitter where there was a glimpse of Sauli and replaced it with black. (Sauli has since refollowed Adam.)
    Such a lovely, quirky, sweet guy.

    Cwm my husbands oldest sister had the same problem but her sight did return. she then had to take large doses of prednisone. I hope the best for your Mom. I don’t think Sauli is leaving L.A. For good. I read he’s returning to Finland to do some promo for his TV show that premiers in September. His show is based on interviews with Fins in the US so I’m sure he’s coming back.

    CR: Let’s cut straight to the chase, Roger – What is the status of Queen right now?
    RT: I’m still in the band, but there’s only two of us left, Brian and myself. And only one of us can walk! We still run the brand – that’s what it is these days.

    CR: So If Queen is a brand, operated by you and Brian, where does Adam Lambert fit in?

    RT: He works very well with us. He’s an incredible singer. He’s got a really magnetic stage prescence. He’s very sexy. And of course our more theatrical songs suit him perfectly. He’s a diva – a male diva. And that’s what he should thing about being.

    CR: Before you began working with Adam, you toured and recorded an album as Queen+Paul Rodgers.
    RT: Paul is a singer that Freddie admired. He led two of rock’s greatest bands, Free and Bad Company. In that sense he is the antithesis of Adam Lambert. We actually loved playing the Free and Bad Company stuff with Paul. But strangely enough, although Paul was wonderful, with that amazing blues-soul voice, Adam is more suited to some of our bigger songs than Paul was.

    CR: Some Queen fans thing you’re selling the band short by having a guy from American Idol as your singer. Do you understand that?
    RT: Whatever you do, people have to take it or leave it. That’s always the case.
