As July ends the “Trespassing” touring era now seems to be over with the last show at Paso Robles. But work continues as Adam is to be part of the Glee cast and also is guesting on Avicii’s new single “Lay Me Down”. It may be quiet on the touring front but there are always surprises.     About that cake with Adam’s picture on it! Mad

    That is not the cake that I ordered!

    Did you know that if you bring a photo to a bakery to have it put on a cake, and if that photo has a copyright, they are not allowed to use it?

    On a cake?!?!!

    The employee at the bakery where I placed the Order on Wednesday didn’t know either! But, her boss phoned me at 8:30am, the morning of the party, to let me know otherwise and to tell me that they couldn’t use the photo of Adam that I’d given them because it was copyrighted.

    I argued – who would know?! It would be there in my refrigerator for an hour and then it would be gone because we would eat it!

    “No, I’m sorry Mr. Hayes but it’s against our policy and who did you place the Order with?” I didn’t answer her because I didn’t want to get that person into any kind of trouble.

    Oh, the photo was of Adam during his performance of “Never Close Our Eyes” on American Idol. It’s just a terrific photograph of him. There’s a reddish background to the photo and that’s why I purposely chose a red border of icing – which didn’t go with the photo that ended up on the cake.

    I was SO disappointed! A nice enough looking strawberries and cream cake but … no picture of Adam? Big Frown

    What to do?!

    I have to tell you that TLKC is like Mighty Mouse – Laugh – she always comes to the rescue! Truly!

    I phoned her at 8:35am!

    “Take one of the photos out of the glass frame that we gave you (remember that? I made a video of it) for your birthday – Adam in Ste.-Agathe”.

    Shock

    I don’t want to do that, TLKC. I’ll ruin it!

    I took the frame apart and ran – literally ran – to the bakery at 8:45am with the photo of Adam at Ste.-Agathe in the rain that ended up on the cake.

    If only I had thought to change the red border of icing that matched the original photo around the cake to blue to match the one that ended up on it.

    Oh well … red or blue, it was still very tasty. Smile

    (Next time you come over TLKC, you can help me put my frame back together). Wink

    Just thinking …

    All of the things that we’re so very happy to do for one another. All of this love and these friendships are all due to one person. Adam Lambert. I wonder if he’ll ever be able to fully comprehend how he has touched and effected and made better so many people’s lives?

    Eli comes across as comfortable in his own skin but tempted by fame and afraid of compromising his soul. What I loved about his “Young Love” video was that it applied straight norms to a gay relationship against a soundtrack that was pure mainstream. A hard sell if you’re trying to appeal to a middle-of-the-road market. Risky marketing but that is who he is; take him or leave him.

    The thing that struck me about the Lovelace red carpet video was Eli’s body language. He was fidgety and nervous from the get-go. IMHO he didn’t feel comfortable – he hated it. There was something touching about his anxious demeanor. JMO but he is not a red carpet guy.

    I can see Adam being interested in Eli – he is thoughtful, articulate, talented and dancing gingerly on the edge of selling himself out. Maybe they will make some terrific music together. Can’t see them as boyfriends, though.

    I used to fall in love with guys like this all the time in my 20’s. They are not big on frivolity. Hard going but worth the trouble.

    I tweeted #TrueReveal and watched the YouTube video for a while but it was boring. If this second song does well, he may release a third single, so I am buying Lay Me Down on iTunes and being done with it.

    Does Nancy Sinatra live next door to Adam or next door to a recording studio? If they live in the same building, she should really knock on his door and ask to borrow a cup of sugar or something. He’s so sweet he can pour a little bit of himself on her.

    And, just saw that Longineau’s band Yellowcard just released an acoustic album version of their older album. Interesting. Seems their drummer was the musical partner of a certain performer who gave many an acoustic performance pre, during and post GN.

    Krads, and others who liked that video blog by Eli, I’m so glad, becasue I had a very similar reaction to it. It showed his vulnerablity, his thoughts and reactions, and that he is a thinker and is articulate.

    I also agree that Sauli was an optimistic and sunny soul for Adam at that time. But, like Krads said, I never had the feeling of wanting to sit down and talk to him, and trust me it wasn’t about Broken English, he just seemed so immature.

    But, Eli is somebody that you get the feeling you could sit and talk to all night long.

    If they are a couple now, I think that Adam has found a thinker. And a talker. And he’s cute to boot!

    If they are just friends, fine, but I don’t think so. Adam brought him to a red carpet. That is a statement in and of itself. The only other guy he has brought to a red carpet was Sauli. If Eli was in a bad mood or over-whelmed and we saw those emotions, then I would surmise that Adam, who does watch You Tube about himself, saw this, and no doubt mentioned his friend’s countenance as a reflection on how the public and fans would view not only Eli, but Adam as well.

    Okay, enough deep thought for me today.

    On to more important things.

    Like did the person who got that last piece of cake bite it or lick it? (( Oh there goes Mils with her dirty dirty dirty mind ))).

    mils– ITA and enjoyed your deep thoughts on Eli. I believe that they are romantically involved and that arriving together on the red carpet was the oh so subtle announcement. Sauli was perfect for Adam at the time and did wonders for confidence, especially in the body image department (we never would have seen chest hair if not for Sauli IMO), health and fitness. Now that Adam is 200% in that department, he was looking, and it seems like he found, someone who is more like him – articulate and caring with a deep love of music. The fact that Eli is actually a year or two older than Adam is proof that Adam has grown more mature emotionally as well. So if Eli and Adam are in a relationship, I say bravo because Adam is at his best right now!!!

    Ron, I loved your story about the cake pic! Perfectly told as well!

    Also, I just watched that vlog of Eli Lieb’s that mils posted. Thanks for posting that mils. I really enjoyed it a lot and got a much better sense of Eli. I liked him a lot in that. I like that he and Adam are connected on some level. And I’ve traveled those roads he traveled and that’s beautiful country, so it was fun to watch in that respect as well.
