As July ends the “Trespassing” touring era now seems to be over with the last show at Paso Robles. But work continues as Adam is to be part of the Glee cast and also is guesting on Avicii’s new single “Lay Me Down”. It may be quiet on the touring front but there are always surprises.     Just IMHO, Addicted to You is too complicated to be a good single. Doesn’t have good hooks or that sing-along quality, even the flow of the beat is somewhat uneven due to the song’s style. A great voice, though.

    Too bad about Idol but they did what they had to do. Boring basic foundation needed as a step to possible re-build. It probably won’t work.

    The fans did a great job of putting Adam’s name in front of Kevin Reilly and the media at the event. They were tweeting to Brad Bessey constantly beforehand about keeping them posted on the FOX TCA, so the “Adam” question got asked and Reilly had to answer it. Adam’s name is ending up in a lot of media reports as “no J-Hud or Adam”, which is good exposure. It puts them at the top of the Idol heap with Kelly and Carrie.

    I think Adam would be a perfect addition to the current panel, demographically speaking, but the new Swedish producer is used to the 3-judge international panels and there it stays.

    No more whining on this subject from me.

    So I’ve been streaming the past shows of Glee so that I can fit Adam into the plot…yes, this is just a little bit compulsive but I’m a virgo…

    I’ve seen 9 episodes now and it is charming and quirky and very easy to fall into. The characters are just enough well-rounded to be believable but just enough cartoonish to be engaging in a very good way. The acting and dialog, IMHO, would not be terribly challenging for Adam to match and I can see him having fun with it, which is so important to his performances. Getting excited for Gleedam!

    But now I know who Corey was, and his death that was just a notice in a newspaper to me has become a sadness. Such a terrible shame that he wasn’t able to vanquish his demons.

    Aviici is the kind of guy who pull several hits off a cd so no worries. “Lay me Down” will find it’s place. Addicted to You sounds so much like Adele

    I really want to hear a much better version of Lay Me Down. It has a great beat and Adam’s vocals are unmistakeable. Someone provided a link to the iTunes pre-sell the other day. I can’t find it in their store at the moment. Maybe the link was for iTunes US and it’s not on iTunes Canada yet?

    You still have the whole story about Finn-Kurt and their parents just ahead of you Kradamour. Enjoy. Glee Season One was great.

    There is some discussion about the older characters being headed for the NYC storyline and fans are speculating that Glee might attempt a SMASH-styled spin-off of Glee.

    It would be theatre-focussed but NYC offers a lot more than that. Apparently, Kurt interned at Vogue last year. Starting to picture a SMASH meets Gossip Girl meets Ugly Betty meets The Devil Wears Prada. Neil Patrick Harris will be finished with HIMYM. He would be perfect for a role somewhere in there. I’d love to see Adam in the thick of that.

    That said, I would prefer to see Adam singing and building a real reputation in the music industry with people like Aviici. GLEE/SMASH might be antithetical to that.

    Dear Kradamour, where did you watch those episodes of Glee? Available in youtube, please I hope? My distant country gets only season 4 this fall, so it takes too long to catch up. I should get myself on track with this series before Adam gets on…

    I have a one person barbeque party here. Yay. Beef steak and organic red wine from Chile. Tomorrow is interesting, we have a rendez-vous of the acting club I belonged to as a teenager. Some peeps I haven’t seen for over 20 years…

    Thanks for that Avicii interview ulti. It still amazes me that a guy who doesn’t even sing himself can be that popular. But I believe he is a true talent and, as someone stated before, is very good at combining very different genres like Adam. I have never liked house music, but damn his songs are catchy!

Amazon Prime membership comes with free streaming of billions of television shows (well, maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but it seems like it) as well as free two day shipping on all purchases and free borrowing privileges for beaucoup Kindle books. It’s very worth the price, imho.

    Thanks krad, damn I am so lousy at these things… So many channels, cable stuff, now even Amazon. I seriously don’t know how to get on these things, including i-phone-pad-pod stuff. My brother has a thing called net flix (?), he says he never watches tv any more, he watches everything through that. Maybe I should consult him…Thinking Lol for the times when I was a kid, there were 3 or 4 channels and that was it Grin

    ladynorth, Amazon streaming is brain dead easy. Just get the prime membership (annual), and then click on what you want to watch. Done and done. the first time you want to watch something, you will have to confirm your computer by clicking on the confirmation, then you never need to do that again.

    Netflix is a monthly fee (here, it is $8), and they don’t have all the television shows. They do have the first three seasons of Glee; they generally don’t have the most recent season of any TV program.
    ETA: the most recent season of Glee is not free

    You can’t stream US Amazon or Netflix in Finland (or anywhere outside the US) without using a VPN service that hides your IP address. I have read that the content is lacking overseas compared to the US, so it might be worth the extra cost to catch up. There is a monthly (around $10) charge for that service that I use when I am going overseas. The website is http://www.hidemyass.com.
    I use both Netflix and Amazon Prime and they both seem to have the same content. Amazon may have more movies, not sure. Hulu Plus has the most up to date content for TV shows.

    Thanks to tchrsd’s praise, I ordered Aura. It came today and so glad I did. It’s worth it for the beautiful cover alone but the inside is full of pictures I love. Lots of fan stories and concert media. For those who didn’t get the Fault magazine that featured Adam, the pictures and story are in this magazine. It’s very professionally done. Not sure why all the negative feelings. Lots of folks are making money off of Adam. It’s the price of fame. This was a lot of work and time spent and a share of the profits go to charity. Would I tell anyone to order it? Guess I already have. Cool

    jojosie, I think what upset people about Aura (and to be honest, it is pretty confusing) was that some peeps felt that their fan-created work from which Aura supposedly grew was taken under false pretenses. It wasn’t that money was being made from Adam; it was that money was being made by fansB from work created by fansA. There was also some sort of kerfluffle about which charity and how much the charity would receive. (shakes head)
    Impossible to tell who is right wrong and center on this, but for some peeps – and I guess I am one of them – there is an Aura of negativity over the mag, no matter how lovely.
    But certainly that is not the only appropriate view.
    I really hate when this fandom eats its own.

    Anyone listen to parts of Avicii’s album? Adams track seems to be the only one that is fuzzy, if thats the right word. All the rest are clear, is that going to be the final product, I think it might be, so we are waiting on a clearer song, this might be it. I like the song a lot, but Adams vocals are hard to hear.

    I feel the same way about Aura Kradamour, especially the connection to the two women who seem to make a living off of Adam. If it was authorized by him that would be a different story. Just my 2 cents, I am certainly not judging anyone who wants to enjoy it for themselves.

    LadyNorth, I watch all my American television shows through this site. http://www.btvguide.com/
    I can’t get Netflix or Amazon membership,etc here and most shows, including Glee and American Idol aren’t on Israeli cable. Once you get into the site search for the show you want, click on episodes and then you will have a choice of different possibilities. They don’t all work, but after a bit you will find the links that work best for you. It is free and I just watch when I want to. I don’t download or save anything. If you have problems,email me and I will walk you through it. I just checked and they have all the seasons of Glee. That is the way I saw it.

    ETA. BTW, I can see current shows a day or two after they are broadcast in the States.

    Is anyone using Explorer to access this site? Someone informed me that she was having to manually enter the smileys. Just clicking on them no longer worked. Also the “Edit” window took forever to open up. Waiting Yawn Sleepy

    If anyone has experienced those problems and found a solution to them, please let us know. And we already know that switching browsers solves everything. Wink

    AL, I use Explorer. I have zero problems on my laptop with any function, but editing on the iPad is a beeyotch, not impossible but difficult. Safari, I believe. Frown From iPad.

    Miss Chaos, I think a lot of the YouTubes were recorded from live radio broadcasts of Avicii concerts (I saw lots of them listed on a website). I went through some and could find none of Lay Me Down. Maybe he’s holding it back in anticipation of demand. Listening to other tracks, it does seem to be one of the catchiest ones to me. Smooth, hooky, danceable.

Just wondering – picture is above once I jump to August Chat thread, but not on home page, which makes the August Chat less indented then the other threads on the home page.

    Also, under Chat thread shortcut at the top, shouldn’t August be listed there too?

    Regarding the inquiry about official AI judge announcements, Only the return of Keith and Randy playing some role (presumably not judge) is official. Not official on J-lo or William yet, but supposedly insiders claim those two are “almost” final.

    I figure since Adam or Shoshanna have not tweeted anything, that there is a still slim Adam possibility as a judge or as a mentor, and they don’t want to screw that up until done deal.

    Or whatever the schedule conflict is for Adam that prevented him as a judge is maybe something more than Glee that they dod not want to reveal to us just yet, or the Glee role is a lot more recurring than we first assumed.

    Cuz if Adam was totally a final No for AI in any capacity, don’t you think Adam or Shoshanna would have said something now? So they are either barred from saying anything until Fox has announced the final judges officially (besides Keith), or it is one of the other reasons I listed above?

    Soccermom, If I recall correctly,last year Adam and/or Shoshana never made an announcement saying that Adam wouldn’t be a judge on Idol after all the speculation. The actual panel was just announced and that was it.
