, I get what you are saying about out and proud Adam, and in principle I agree.
But acting is a new gig for Adam, and we don’t know what his character will be, and there will doubtless be a number of viewers who have never seen him before/don’t know him.
Let’s let them get comfortable with his character and his acting and the meshing of those two things. We know that our fandom is totally capable of going batshit over a new boyfriend, and that could get in the way of his character on Glee, whether gay or straight.
Not sure that I am expressing this very well. I don’t for a second think that Adam should hide his sexuality, but a new audience needs to believe him in his role before they get distracted by his RL persona.
Or at least that is what I think. A case of discretion being the better part of valor for a new actor.

Feel similarly, Krad – this is uncharted territory for Adam and could be big for him and, as he’s said, he’s also a businessman – think he’ll act accordingly.

I really do understand the point but I just don’t agree. One quick Google search will tell anyone that doesn’t know him everything about him in a second (which will happen). I have never thought of Adam to be any more flaunting or distracting about his relationships, actually he is quite private, than any other famous person out there. What could he do in a relationship that would hurt him?
But, regardless, I know we all want the same great things for him, even if we don’t always agree.

This was the melirose tweeted pic – probably have seen it elsewhere, but, as said, just makes me laugh.
I’ve never watched Glee, and have only been reading about it and following some fans on Twitter and comments on articles and YouTube, but:
– They’ve been researching Adam very thoroughly, all over interviews, Idol stuff, even Upright and Zodiac and GNT vids.
– Plenty of nutty fans, they determinedly ship Chris with Darren Criss in real life, even though both deny it and also hate Criss’s girlfriend.
– A prominent cast member just died of a heroin/alcohol overdose and has struggled with drugs for years.
– There have been tweets hoping Adam’s character is gay so they can have more gay PDA onscreen.
As he lives now, Adam’s life is pretty open. Even when he was with Sauli he was pretty conservative – he’ll probably continue as always. If they ship him with someone, it’s really fandom du jour for both fandoms. Ryan Murphy had to know exactly what/who Adam is when he chose him. Lots of similarities in the fandoms, IMHO. I really think they can handle it, have even bee preparing for it.

Honestly, Adam must have to go into some zen place deep inside in order to remain so calm and focused and not go insane on the red carpet with all of those people yelling at him and the flash bulbs going off. Crazy.

I agree with aely – so tired of all the wank about the facial hair. Twitter was relentless last night. I prefer clean shaven on Adam, but I think he looks great either way. I think he looks prettier and more beautiful when he’s clean shaven, but damn he can rock a smoldering sexy look with that facial hair.
He’ll shave eventually, in his own time and on his own terms. I was at a meeting today with a bunch of men, and counted up that more than 75% of them had some level of facial hair going on. And it’s very prevalent among the men that Adam circulates with, judging by pictures when he’s out and about. And those are the guys he’s looking to attract, not us 29 y.o. women.

Louboutin does a ton of custom work, so he could have made them for Adam per his description of what he wanted.
The red sole is actually trademarked. YSL did a red shoe with a red sole and Louboutin sued. Court said if the shoe is red, the sole can be red also, but a purely red sole is Louboutin if it is his shade of red.
The red soles are known for being absurdly slippery, and the red is very superficial and wears off from the ball of the foot on pretty much the first wearing. Louboutin is supposed to have said somewhere that he does the red soles because it is like leaving a smudge of lipstick/a kiss wherever you walk.
ETA: Just looked again at the Jeffrey West, they have the red lining that Adam’s shoes had. Red lining with a red sole may also comply with the court’s ruling; it was a narrow win for Louboutin and the court was not really comfortable with giving him an absolute right to red soles.

ooh, aely, that could mean a lot of different things and all of them interesting!
I am reading back and am a little flummoxed at the suggestion that Adam needs to be circumspect in his relationships, especially for Glee, which is the first TV show to joyfuly portray same-sex relationships as a happy thing in prime time.
IMHO, if squeeky clean image is a concern for Glee then Adam in a relationship is a lot more attractive to them because he won’t be bar-hopping and at risk of embarrassment by some self-publicizing young hottie in a real or made-up one-night stand. (In fact, it’s very possible that Adam in a relationship might be more attractive to Idol as well.)
That said, the relationship between Eli and Adam is probably professional. Eli’s video protraying a same-sex relationship in a 70’s style rock & roll context went viral. It was a no-brainer for them to meet. Adam is working on music with all sorts of people. Why not Eli?

I tried to say that any relationship – gay, straight, bi – that begins at the same time that peeps who don’t know him (and they are inexplicably legion) are getting to know him, and then add the ugly sh*tstorm that the Adam fandom crays will likely engage in, could overshadow or color his new role on the show.
Acting is new for Adam, and I want him to come out of the gate judged on his acting.
Anyone who would care that he is gay just needs to get over it.

cwm, I think it entirely possible that the cast talks to people and has gotten bits and pieces of things while the new season is worked out. Adam would not necessarily be privy to those casual interactions.
True, that’s quite possible, Krad. I also noted that the show’s host – the guy – made reference to a “nemesis” for Kurt, to prompt Chris to talk about his character in the new season. So either something was officially told to that host prior to the interview, or Kurt said something to him casually in the run up to the interview.

Mention TR in voice-over
This is the second time in a row that Adam has tweeted out what designer he is wearing at an event (Fergie’s shower and Lovelace premier). It might just be that he is answering queries, but it does make me wonder if he is receiving some compensation from designers for wearing their designs and tweeting about them. If so, very cool!
