After a very busy month of July which featured 11 concerts (5 with Queen and 6 solo – including the epic Fantasy Springs event pictured above), August begins with a short period of rest for Adam. However, as he tweeted a couple of days ago, we can expect the third single from Trespassing to be announced sometime early this month. Later in the month, Adam will head to Japan and Australia for album promo and a few concerts as well. We are also anxiously waiting to learn if Adam will be a judge or have some other regular role in the upcoming season of American Idol. In the meantime, enjoy the chat!

Re Olympics closing, check this report out – it doesn’t look as though Jessie J is necessarily singing with Queen.

Expected highlights will include live performances by Queen, Take That, Annie Lennox, George Michael, Ray Davies, The Pet Shop Boys and Madness.

For younger music fans there are likely to be appearances by Emeli Sande – who at present is due to open the show with her hit Read All About It – Kaiser Chiefs, One Direction, Elbow, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah and Jessie J.

Hi guys. Sorry to leave you thinking that I had probably dropped off the side of the earth or otherwise MIA. We got home from our trip to Thackerville just a little after midnight on Saturday night. The next morning, I went out of town to take my other traveling partner home. I’ve just been hit and miss from that time on. I still have to catch up on stuff that I missed. Just been busy and running. I wrote down a few things to post on Winstar thread, but will have to do it when I get more time.

    Catch you later!

  3. HK fan says:

I’ve been searching google, and with that and reading things elsewhere I can’t find anything that say its ‘law’ to be a national of the host country to perform at Olympic ceremonies. So I assume that its the norm, and that most countries try and get an all National cast pf performers, but I expect that there have been exceptions.
Saying that, I don’t think its true….but it would be amazing if it was.

I wish all Adams twittwr followers would buy a copy of Trespassing, just 1 copy each would put him to platinum. Can all of you on twitter send out a reminder, which hopefully will get retweeted and snowball to get the message out there.

  4. ok I just wanted to repost this. Felt I needed to say something. Posted this in the Des Moines chat too.

I just want to say I meant Adam no disrespect and he knows that. Everyone pointed me out when he asked who threw them up there so he knows I did it, but while we were at the gate and he was walking away he saw me and gave me a big smile and waved at me. I agree withnkd I don’t think he ever really saw what was written on them. When we threw them they turned inside out because of the wind and I know for a fact that you couldn’t see what was written on them thru the fabric I made sure of it. It was meant as a joke. Everyone I showed and talked to thought it was hilarious and told me that Adam would definitely get a kick out of them and he did. If he didn’t like them he would have thrown them back out to the crowd like he has with other items thrown on stage at him before. Thanks cwm and nkd. It was all meant in good fun and we got one heck of an Adam moment from it. And think of it this way, it’s not the worst thing that has ever been thrown on stage at him. At least it wasn’t a sex toy or anything like that.

  5. Calgary says:

Okay, HKfan I sent a tweet!

  6. adamized says:

glamberthaf28 Sweetie you don’t need to explain anything to us. We know you love Adam and would never do anything to show disrespect. I did not get the feeling he was offended by the panties and he seemed to enjoy making them part of the show.

cwm glad to hear you are feeling better. Didn’t know the evil bug had gotten to you and yours. Loved the video of the cute young fan. She is so fun and comfortable on camera. Reminds me a bit of Cheeks with those big brown eyes.

mils just caught up on your amazing recap and spectacular list. Thank you for taking the time and capturing it all so clearly for us.

Beautiful pic for August threat. Just lovely!

  7. Thanks adamized it really means a lot. I don’t see why the Home Planet is making that big of a deal about it. It was meant as a joke! I think they are so mad about it because they didn’t think of it first. If he didn’t like them, even after he did “read” them, he would have thrown them off stage!

  8. glambotgram says:

I just want to say I meant Adam no disrespect and he knows that.

glamberthaf28 We know that too. As far as the people at Home Planet see my earlier post as to what to say to them.

  9. cher says:

Really glad to have that behind me and to be feeling alive again! And I’m so glad that everyone from here who got sick in London is better now. What do you suppose it was that got us all sick? You know, even BRIAN MAY put up a post on his blog that he was sick as a dog for a week after the last Queen + Adam show at the Hammersmith. Weird!

Yep cwm I was sick as a dog too after London as some of you know. Wasn’t just concertgoers either. A cousin of a friend here came back from London the week after me and was sick too. I had a couple friends also here who didn’t even go to London who were sick as well, so just a bug going around I guess.

Krad funnily enough I’m eating Haagen-Daaz chocolate almond ice cream right now with homemade pound cake. (I didn’t make it lol) Here come the calories. No self control. That’s me. Frown Frown Tastes great though. ROTFL

  10. glambotgram Thanks bb! And I agree. I don’t get how people can tell other people how to behave. Adam has even said that he doesn’t mind if you throw things on stage, just don’t throw them at him. The panties are horrible, but the person who thru a dildo at Adam during the IDOL TOUR is ok and funny apparently!

  11. Kradamour says:

I have been in and out and just realized how many of our peeps got sick in England or after! I was sick as sick when I went to Paris for Adam’s concert there, it was HORRIBLE on so many levels: fear that I would be too sick for the concert, distress to be missing some of my time in Paris by being stuck in bed, and being almost alone and unable to go out for provisions, medicine, etc. (My son was with me, but I sent him out every day with metro tickets and a credit card, didn’t want him stuck in our apartment with me all day.) I totally empathize with those of you who caught the bug, so glad that you weren’t kept from the concert and that you were able to get home safely. (shuddering at the thought that your trip might have been ruined, so glad that it wasn’t!)

    HKFan, that is interesting research:

I’ve been searching google, and with that and reading things elsewhere I can’t find anything that say its ‘law’ to be a national of the host country to perform at Olympic ceremonies. So I assume that its the norm, and that most countries try and get an all National cast pf performers, but I expect that there have been exceptions.

glamberthaf: I hope you can let the negative reaction of some fans roll off your back quickly. Your heart was always in the right place, and you know that. I certainly have been guilty of similar or worse blunders in my 29 years. Live and learn. Done.

  13. milwlovesadam says:

I am so sorry for pointing out the nonsense going on at HP. I didn’t mean to cause any conflict or bad feelings. I just wanted to caution people about it in case they wandered there and found it too.

I was not even remotely upset or bothered by the panties. When I met glambertha after the show and she told me about them, I just laughed with her. I never saw a negative reaction by Adam, and geez, I was only 10 feet away at most.

I agree that dildos and such crap are tasteless and not funny. I’m personally more of a fan of boas. I remember all the stuff he got thrown at him during the Idol tour and some from GN. His usual response was to kick it off stage to protect his dancers.

Glambertha, you are loved here, we have your back. Hold your head high!!

  14. Thank you all so much! Your love and support mean so much to me Smile

Oh and Adam was fantastic. Not that anyone doubted that comment. Smile

  28. rs says:

And for the record, amazingly, I am with HK Fan and I wasn’t sick either after London, which is unusual for me. I usually get sick the minute I get home from a trip. I was really worried, too, since I have another trip planned in a couple of weeks to Ireland and Scotland.

  29. rs says:

I was just reading Sauli’s blog and his description of London says it all!

The trip to London was absolutely insane!! It’s so hard to put it into words. My best friends around me, Queen and my love! Perfect! Can’t explain it better than that. Big thanks to Brian and Roger

I guess he and Adam are planning to get away this week, too. Good. They deserve it!

For this coming weekend I have plans to go on a small trip away from LA… more about that next week… bye!

  30. rs says:

glambertha, I just want to add my two cents here to what I already commented in the concert thread. We know where your heart is and what your intentions were and Adam knows them, too. He has no problem showing obvious distaste for things he doesn’t like and that didn’t seem the case here. I just felt so bad for you because of all those awful comments by people who are judgememtal and feel entitled and think that they know just what Adam was feeling. I am so glad that you haven’t let them get to you. But then, why should you? You have Adam and all of us at your back! lol.

  35. Ron says:

    Never Throw Anything On Stage!

We’ve all seen the footage from concerts where someone throws something up on stage either as a gift for the performers, or as some way to be “part” of the show. This is no different than heckling a comedian. You’re not there to interact with the musicians on that level, and if your accuracy is off in the slightest you can really hurt someone. It’s also on a very simple level easy to throw off the whole band’s timing if they’re dodging whatever shwag you thought needed to be hurled at them.

    http://voices.yahoo.com/most-annoying-things-fans-concerts-8567137.html?cat=33

A penny for my thoughts? That’s all they’re worth but I couldn’t be more in agreement with the above paragraph.

Unless it’s during curtain call at the end of an opera when audience members have been known to lavishly throw flowers onstage to show their appreciation, IMHO it is never appropriate to throw anything on stage during a performance. This isn’t a judgement call on my part. This is simply following rules of propriety and acceptable standards of behavior. Yes, even at a “rock concert”.

It can be very frightening for a performer to see an unknown object being thrown from the audience either at them or onto the stage floor. It could be something very benign or it could be something meant to cause harm. The performer has no way of knowing at first what it is that’s being hurled in their direction or the intent behind it.

At the very least, throwing anything from the audience is an unwanted and unwelcome distraction for the performer. It can completely throw one off their pace and ruin a performance.

Consideration should also be given to other members of the audience who may not wish to share in someone elses private joke.

At its worst, it is rude, and very disrespectful.

There are all kinds of “jokes”. Funny jokes, good jokes, and bad jokes. There are also jokes that cross a boundary and are in very poor taste. What was written right-side-in or wrong-side-out was crude and inappropriate. Watching the video and seeing still-photos, Adam was clearly not amused.

I’m afraid my feelings about throwing things on stage during a performance have made this comment come across in harsher terms than I intended. I apologize. If it wasn’t considered sexist or politically incorrect, I would say that you’re a “sweetheart” , Glamberthaf28/strong> I know you meant well and would, of course, never do anything to hurt Adam. That in itself should go without saying and will remain unchallenged.

Just as a general rule of thumb, with a nod to the quoted paragraph and for all of the reasons I’ve included, it’s not a good idea to throw anything on stage when someone is giving a performance unless the artist requests it or … you’re at the opera with an armful of flowers. Wink

    Peace

I have a question…..Why are peeps saying Adam has dropped out of BB200? I checked the BB200 chart and he is listed at #186 to Aug4th. Is he being dropped after Aug 4th, if so where is that info? I would really appreciate any info, thanks.

  37. Oksana2000 says:

firstimerob, you’re looking at last week numbers.

  38. firstimerob says:

Where are this week numbers listed, I presume after the 4th.

  39. riskylady says:

NCOE has moved up to #14 on the BB Dance/Club Play chart this week, with an asterisk (*Songs with most airplay and sales this week).
    http://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200#/charts/dance-club-play-songs?begin=11&order=position

But it’s true, Trespassing isn’t in the BB200 Albums chart.
One thing we don’t know, is Adam’s track sales – seems RCA never reports them. I remember when Trespassing first came out, several of the songs were charting quite a few days on iTunes also, not just the album itself.
And we do know some charting internationally both for the songs and the album, but don’t really know accurate sales info. I tend to believe he’s doing OK or even better than OK outside the US, IMHO.
One thing is true though, people may not buy his album in droves in this country, but they DO turn out to see him live i.e. he still puts more asses in the seats than some other Idol alums…..

  40. luval says:

Riskylady, I always love your reporting of numbers and your analysis of them!

  41. riskylady says:

Thanks, luval! I tend to stay positive, after all, touring, when successful (as we know Adam can be) can be lucrative – and he does seem to have a lot of name recognition due to the media loving him so much.
I just saw some high NCOE placement on charts in Finland (still) and Czech Rep, on Twitter, and the videos for both BTIKM and NCOE still getting good views on VEVO.
Maybe Adam will always be an outsider in the biz, simply because, who wants to share the stage with him when they will suffer by comparison? Only a few could stand up to that, so the rest will always be offput.

  42. firstimerob says:

I really appreciate all the info Riskylady and Oksana, it is so frustrating being a Adam fan at times, and then more often, so rewarding.

  43. LadyNorth says:

Thanks Riskylady! I’d be curios to know how much the album sales abroad are… I think Adam has sold some albums in his concerts (in US too?), but I guess they are not counted to the charts??

And to the other subject. I just watched new TALCvids from London 14th. Taken very near, GA. It made me so happy to see how Adam totally owned the stage (I read Brian was very sick that evening, I think he stayed very silent and background because of that). Adam was so comfortable and loose on the stage, improvised vocals more and you could see pure joy on his face at the end of the show. I love it, and all his talent. When I watch those vids, I forget all the numbers and uncertainties. As Adam said in some recent interview, performing w/ Queen reminded him about the core thing why to do what he does – joy of performing to the audience. I think we really saw it in his previous own concerts too. I know we have to remember the reality and sales and other shit of music industry, but does it sometimes take too big role from the joy of music? It takes my mood down too easily, I have noticed… As a freshman fan I have to spend enough time with vids, enjoying what I have found Smile But last night was too cuckoo, so I call this a day (11.36pm)!

Riskey Lady – I love your “glass is half full” as opposed to the “glass is half empty approach and agree that when our BB says “get your ass down to the front” we Glamberts are like lemmings to the sea. 46. riskylady says:

Thank you, guys! LadyNorth, thanks for posting that video from the 14th! I did see on Twitter that TALC was just announcing that their videos from that night were up, and watched one, “Somebody to Love.” WOW! GREAT audio and video, I recommend them highly!

Our local Mix 105.1 radio barely plays Adam (usually only WWFM), so I was surprised to see their tweet about American Idol. Adam’s doing pretty good on the poll they’re taking. There’s plenty of people who wouldn’t mind seeing him as judge.

  49. milwlovesadam says:

Okay peeps, 16 days until the next concert. I promise not to get in the Adam doldrums between now and then. Who wants to join me?

Speculation about the next single? I’m going with Shady or Pop That Lock.

Speculation about his vacay location? I’m going with Bora Bora with Sauli. Or that island they went to on GN with the band and dancers. Who can remember which island it ended up being? It was such a secret at the time.

Olympics?? I don’t think so. If it does happen, it will be a huge surprise. Like at the EMA’s.

Okay peeps, 16 days until the next concert. I promise not to get in the Adam doldrums between now and then. Who wants to join me?

Yeah, I’ve been trying not to get doldrums. I haven’t watched all of the videos yet, so that may get me through.

Speculation about the next single? I’m going with Shady or Pop That Lock.

Pop That Lock is so catchy, I’m leaning toward that one. Although I can’t help but wonder what’s going on with Shady. Neil Rodgers seems pretty anxious to get that one out there. Wonder if they’ve set up an event yet.

Speculation about his vacay location? I’m going with Bora Bora with Sauli. Or that island they went to on GN with the band and dancers. Who can remember which island it ended up being? It was such a secret at the time.

He always talks so fondly of Bora Bora. I wonder if any of the Cra-cra fans have shown up out there thinking they might spot the boys. I wouldn’t put anything past them. I don’t remember the other place, but that might be a better choice if most people don’t remember it.

Olympics?? I don’t think so. If it does happen, it will be a huge surprise. Like at the EMA’s.

It would be such a great opportunity for him, and I agree–it would be better kept a surprise. Otherwise, we may get a week or so of angst and crabbing from people who will protest the idea of an American performing at the London Olympics. Better for it to be a fait accompli. He will be so great they’ll forget to complain. Half of the viewers in the world will be saying “Who IS this guy???” The rest of us will just smile and nod.
