After a very busy month of July which featured 11 concerts (5 with Queen and 6 solo – including the epic Fantasy Springs event pictured above), August begins with a short period of rest for Adam. However, as he tweeted a couple of days ago, we can expect the third single from Trespassing to be announced sometime early this month. Later in the month, Adam will head to Japan and Australia for album promo and a few concerts as well. We are also anxiously waiting to learn if Adam will be a judge or have some other regular role in the upcoming season of American Idol. In the meantime, enjoy the chat!

Hell of a “top of the month” post.

Jlurks, I re-sent my mail. Hope you get it this time.

Not getting anything yet. Hanging out in Nebr so maybe your email caught in one of these super dry cornfields.

  2. ultimathule says:

Beautiful pic – once again – those eyes.

jlurks, just send me your land address. I’m going to send you real life pictures. Not e-pictures!! I know, how quaint and old fashioned!

I just posted a follow-up to the “panty-gate” discussion at the end of the July thread (and copied it into the Des Moines thread), for those interested. My views on it, in a nutshell: Mountain out of molehill.

In other news – I’m finally over the nasty bug that I caught in London! Yes, it’s true – in addition to the other multitudes from here that picked up that nastiness in London, I too got very sick right after arriving home and was down and out for over a week. Ended up with a sinus infection and bacterial conjuctivitis in both eyes, as well as a nasty cough that lasted two weeks. Yuck. My two kids caught it as well, and with the three of us coughing constantly, my husband (who by some miracle avoided it) must have thought he was living in a cesspool of germs.

Really glad to have that behind me and to be feeling alive again! And I’m so glad that everyone from here who got sick in London is better now. What do you suppose it was that got us all sick? You know, even BRIAN MAY put up a post on his blog that he was sick as a dog for a week after the last Queen + Adam show at the Hammersmith. Weird!

  5. cwm says:

I just posted this cute video in the Des Moines thread of a fan telling the story of her travels to Des Moines to see the concert. It’s funny and engaging, and the things she says about Adam are true and touching. Worth watching!

Great photo-just love it! Glad everyone had great experiences at the recent concerts, anyone planning on going to Phoenix??

  7. luval says:

Good morning august thread and gorgeous Fantasy Springs photo! Cocoglam…I have Phoenix in the back of my mind! I actually love State Fairs. I go to the one here in Central New York several times every year. So much to see. But I am waiting to see if any other shows pop up. Although I have a feeling that might be it for concert previews, as I call them.

  8. LadyNorth says:

Morning (afternoon) August! Here it started with a shower of hail… More extreme weather conditions.

Oh, cwm, you’ve been sick too Frown So good it’s better now. I guess it can have something to do with extreme humidity and rain in London for months… A good platform for viruses to grow. I lost my voice two days ago but I guess (hope) it’s not from London.

I hate to be so late from all the action – haven’t managed to catch up last two weeks yet. Panty-gate was totally new for me… I haven’t watched those videos yet. Thanks for the insight milwlovesadam and others!

I find myself in love with FS show… Like I am with the last Queen shows. Next I want to read all comments on FS thread, I read some and enjoyed them, thanks! I feel many of you express yourselves so well, I often recognize I feel the same but can’t put it into words (especially in foreign language)! I just… feel. Maybe I manage to comment something after reading what was said. But I loved that funny playful cuckoo Adam. He always sings very well, but there was so much true Adam feelings and acts in that show that it was pleasure to watch!

  9. LadyNorth says:

HK fan, you’re wellcome! I saw Sauli’s “work” blog that summarizes his summer, but I don’t know if there’s a translation… He just wrote shortly about London, that it was so wonderful time there with all the friends and Adam and Queen. He thanked Brian and Roger too.

Sauli wrote he’s going for a short trip on weekend. I wonder if they are going to Island Sun some Bora Bora holiday with Adam…

    Done

  11. eywflyer says:

I think it’s pretty safe to say at this point that Adam is not going to be on Idol in any meaningful regular way. Maybe as a one time mentor but nothing more. His name is not being mentioned at all anymore. So – third single better be a hit. Otherwise Adam vanishes from the public eye in the near future. Queen collab would be the one other possible alternative.

  12. goatiegarden says:

Good morning! Off to work but quick pop in to say Des Moines was great and seeing those of you there, priceless! I’m uploading my vids to YouTube. Horrible bass but nice eye candy. I’ll link later but the first few are ready at goatiegarden. Happy August! I’ll be at a conference in Tucson in October and you bet I am zipping up to Phoenix for the night of Adam’s show!

  13. turquoisewaters says:

Panty-gate has a good aspect, because it gave Adam a chance to express where he draws the line. He has proven very protective towards he own before. I would not be surprised if he thought you can have fun with me but stay away from my family. I think the little incident helped many in the fandom get the message. And yes, no big deal and clearly not bad-intentioned.

  14. luval says:

I agree, turquoisewaters. It would be like someone “goofing” on a loved one in public if you were giving a speech or something. I watched the video again and you could tell he just moved on. Don’t think there were any hard feelings on his part as he went out and signed after.

  15. firstimerob says:

    http://voices.yahoo.com/american-idol- Nice article.
I know Kerry is a big fan but is nice to read something positive.

  16. firstimerob says:

Ops didn’t work will try again.

  17. firstimerob says:
  18. Oksana2000 says:

Sorry, but I wouldn’t take anything that Kerry writes too seriously. She is one of the most BSC fans and gives the whole fandom a bad name. I’ve seen her comments on many sites and the word “facepalm” says it all.

  19. firstimerob says:

    Oh, had no idea.

  20. Oksana2000 says:

Call me an optimist, but I believe that Adam has something up his sleeve that he is not telling us about right now. I don’t believe that he is just resting on laurels after his Queen gigs. He looks really happy and we all know that he is not such a good actor (sorry, baby)

Call me an optimist, but I believe that Adam has something up his sleeve that he is not telling us about right now.

I totally agree with you Oksana. I noticed in some of his interviews, when they ask him questions about the future…Idol, PLL, among other things. He answers as though he’s unsure of what’s going on but there is an underlying smile that, for some, may be difficult to detect (not me). A sort of cat that ate the canary look. He def knows something about something.

  22. nkd says:

cwm, I’m sorry to hear that you also got sick after London. I hope that everyone is recovered or recovering.

I posted this at the end of the July thread, but Ceddies please pop in to let us know that you made it home safely. We haven’t heard from you since Winstar.

  23. nkd says:

I agree Oksana and k_in_cal. In that Sacramento interview he was definitely coy with his answers, but making sure it was known that Idol rumors were not dead.

  24. Oksana2000 says:

Yuck, it looks like Trespassing fall off BB2000. Oh, well..

  25. luval says:

Well how many artists can say they had a number one album in their career. It’s a very special, limited few IMO.

  27. Kradamour says:

    Hello!
cwm came and got me (thank you, cherie!)on the July thread… I couldn’t find the link to an August thread and was working on the assumption that we were stuck in a time warp that eywflyer had concocted to keep us all 29 forever!
    Grin

Actually there are quite a few posts over there that were made after midnight.

So now that I am here it is a little bit gloomy. But I definitely agree that Adam has something up his sleeve that he isn’t talking about yet. We have been watching his every move and eyebrow raise for over three years now, and we can tell when he is “off his feed”, and that is definitely not the case these days.
And BB is enjoying a week at home (or somewhere) with Sauli after a grueling little stretch, so really we can all just sit back and waitpatiently/speculate/angst/carry on as we always do!

    MTV award nominees.

Was BTIKM eligible for this round of awards? I assume that NCOE was too late.

I’m not crazy about the song BTIKM, but that video is f*cking awesome. Probably too sophisticated to be nominated, if you compare it to the others.

  29. cwm says:

cwm, I’m sorry to hear that you also got sick after London. I hope that everyone is recovered or recovering.

Awwww thanks nkd! Glad to report that we are indeed better. I’m just glad that we all waited until we got home to get sick, rather than getting sick on the trip. Our family trip through Italy and France, capped off by London, was a rousing success — as I like to say, no one got sick, injured, lost, arrested, jailed, fined, hit by a car, or insulted while in Europe, so — success! Wink Seriously, it was a fantastic trip. Just fabulous. We just paid for it when we got home. OOFTA!

Bummer about no VMA nods and falling out of the BB200. I’m so glad for Adam that there’s a new single on the horizon. Shows that he, his management, and RCA still have something up their sleeves. I’m staying optimistic. Gotta keep believing! I do think that the Pretty Little Liars episode in October will give him a nice bump, and that there are more Queen collabos on the horizon.

    Hmmm, I don’t think I believe this but…
    http://www.musicdnews.net/adam-lambert-may-perform-at-olympics-closing-ceremony/

I agree…. It looks like a case of them putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 5.
Queen plays at the Olympics + Adam performs with Queen does not equal Adam performs with Queen at the Olympics. Unfortunately! Frown

  31. LadyNorth says:

I really wish that Olympic ceremony would be true… But who is the mysterious “source”? Well we’ll see Smile

I had a wonderful evening reading past FS thread. Thank you all for your comments and recaps! It is so interesting, how much more excitement you get with other’s feelings and perspectives! Compared to just watch the videos by yourself. I just have to go and watch the show again… And my computer is loaded with dirty gifs too Laugh No, not dirty, but sensual Smile

  32. riskylady says:

Oksana, k_in_cal, one thing is sure, Adam’s schedule for the rest of August after Australia, September and Octuber (except for Arizona) remains mysteriously open…….I do expect some more promo in Asia to show up maybe in that last week of August, but still, mysterious…..

  33. riskylady says:

    I did say, Brian May was in Costa Mesa on the 28th doing a presentation on 3-D technology. I can think of ways Queen could get around having an American to sing for them: If he were signed as an actual member of Queen, even temporarily, they would have to accept him as a frontman. Not saying it will happen, but it would be possible (though highly controversial, probably). Still, would rather it be him than JessieJ….but would hate for him to get more hate, after I think he won over many, many former complainers. {{sigh}}

  34. cwm says:

Looks like Adam and Sutan were out and about last night. Looking good! I love that jacket.

  35. glambotgram says:

I still am holding out hope for the Olympics, talk about a platform.

Panty-gate, yes unfortunate wording, but he totally went with it. I just feel bad that the young lady who brought them and wrote on them is probably reading the comments and is feeling bad. I just want her to remember what Adam said to her in her M&G and apply that sentiment to the people at
Home Planet and elsewhere that are dissing her.
What puzzles me is the way so many Adam fans think that they can tell other fans how to behave or not behave. Just like all the tweeters at Fantasy Springs complaining about the people in the lobby, and acting like they were so much better than all the others because they were in their room, and how horrible it was to walk through the lobby and see all those women standing around.
Can’t we all just love him and let others love him too, even if some are a little crazy at times. I think Adam understands. Not directed at people here, just annoyed at some comments on twitter and other places.
I am going off to the corner to sing Kumbaya now Big Smile

  36. aely says:

    nvm

  37. firstimerob says:

Qksana….I think Adam is a good actor, just not a good liar. I would sure like to see that photo again posted awhile ago when he was asked about Queen (face)and asked about being a judge.(face)

  40. nkd says:

glambotgram, I agree with your post at 3:09.
We do seem to have a few fan behavior police.
People celebrate and enjoy Adam in their own way. Acceptance and love. That’s what it’s suppose to be about, right?

  41. luval says:

That is a great video, nkd. If eywflyer has his end of the year top 20, Pop That Lock Costa Mesa is number one for me!

  42. dcglam says:

Pop That Lock Costa Mesa is number one for me!

Me too, luval, me too! Yes

  43. dcglam says:

Okay, so I went back and read that Olympics article a bit more carefully. If this is even remotely true, what in the world happened to Jesse J?? I’ve been searching the internet and finding nothing. Confused Question Thinking

  44. Oksana2000 says:

I clearly must’ve missed the whole panty-gate thing, so I went to HomePlanet and did some reading.
Well, I have admit that it wasn’t a top-notch joke, but Adam seemed to be OK with it, so I don’t get the public outrage.
And regarding “fan behavior police”, there is an entire blog devoted to that subject, where main blogger and her herd is REALLY going after Cook and Adam fans(Clay, too). After initial irritation I realized that blogger has some mental problems (who else would go to AO or DCO and brought 1000 words quotes just to prove the point???) and I read that blog for pure entertainment.
I think that I became more tolerant with age cause nobody is perfect. Even ADAM… Smile

  45. Kradamour says:

Totally OT, but do y’all realize that Haagen-Dazs makes a “dark chocolate” ice cream? How did I not know that? it is almost bitter, so rich, just about the best thing I have ever eaten in my life. So dark that it’s gotta be full of antioxidants or flavenoids or whatever chocolate is supposed to have that is good for us. I would argue that eating this stuff is medically appropriate.
    Therapeutic.
Yup, that is what it is.
A cup a day will keep the doctor away.
Two cups is probably even better. Hmmm…this carton is a pint. Two cups. Sounds like a daily ration.
    Grin

  46. dcglam says:

I’m salivating over here, Krad. Heck with that ole apple…
Two cups of dark chocolate sound perfect! Razz

  47. luval says:

Kradamour…so I am to assume you are putting that in your juicer along with your kale & other veggies? Laugh Grin Big Smile

  48. ultimathule says:

Aren’t the Royals fans? Maybe they could make him an honorary citizen for the Olympics.

  49. luval says:

Ultimathule…that isn’t so far fetched. I’m sure there are several ways around the “must be a British citizen” thing.

  50. Kradamour says:

Chocolate ice cream in the juicer…hmmm…cocoa beans are a vegetable, I think.

    Grin
Re Adam’s “secret” being the Olympic closing ceremony: since someone else was already named, and presumably was under contract, ???
But I guess it isn’t totally impossible. Obviously Brian (esp) and Roger would love to have him perform with them, and it seems that they would have a certain amount of clout IF JJ wasn’t already under contract.
