Well guys it’s time for our August Chat thread. Here is one of my favorite pictures from St. Agathe. Another month with a major event. VH-1 is kickstarting the revamp of their fantastic series Behind The Music featuring Adam. Will everybody be watching on Sunday night???

    At the deeper end: Can Adam read music? one poster was of the vague memory that Neil said Adam can’t. Do we know this?

    I was taught to read music in elementary school, in our music class. I can’t believe that someone who has had voice lessons, opera lessons, and has sung in many musicals would not be able to read music. It was my understanding that Adam did not play a musical instrument, but my hunch is that he does have some basic knowlege of piano, but does not try to compete with his brother in that area.

    hand.
    I can’t fine that photo right now but I have the drawing which is my desktop background.
    Adam is soooo happy when SK is with him.

    I do have the photo of them holding hands but it’s with thousands that I’ve right-clicked and saved. Need to get organized and file them properly.

    WordPress freaked out today when I was updating the drop-down menus and deleted almost all of them, I’m rebuilding them now but it may be a day or two before everything is back to normal. Right now the “Pre-Idol”, “AI”, and most of the “Glam Nation” links are missing from the menus. All of the post content is still there, I just have to get it back into the menus.

    Fourth place: Idol finale

    Really looking forward to seeing pictures of Adam and Sauli from the Equality Awards tonight! (I assume that Adam will have Sauli with him — it certainly would be in keeping with the event.)

    Haha so I had an Adam-related nightmare last night. Perhaps some of you will understand why this was so distressing.

    In my dream, Adam had scheduled a rather last-minute one-off concert in my area, where he was planning on debuting another new song. Exciting! I happily bought tickets for a bunch of friends and co-workers who had asked me to do so, but then when everyone else was taken care of, I went to buy tickets for myself, and the show was sold out! The venue held only 948 people, and all tickets were gone! I immediately went on StubHub, but there were only two tickets listed there, for $1200 apiece. My husband, bless his heart, was ok with paying that kind of price, but when I tried to buy those tickets, the seller changed their mind and decided to go to the show instead! And none of my friends or co-workers were willing to give up their ticket so I could go. Then I discovered that even my 12-year-old son had a ticket through a school field trip to the show, but there was still no ticket for me. It was now only a few hours before showtime, and I was getting desperate! I was seriously considering wresting a ticket back from a co-worker — or my own son!

    And then I woke up in a hot sweat. LOL

    Lessen learned — when it comes to Adam’s shows, selfishly buy my own tickets first, THEN take care of friends and co-workers. It’s the only way. Smile

    MHO, I think Lane has done a good job with Adam, but I’ve never met or known her.

    She’s a company man, so she will stick to where her paychecks are.

    At this point, Haley and James need Lane. I’d like to see both of them doing well.

    I have a soft spot for James because my good friend has an aspie son about the same age as James. But Haley is my girl -sultry, sexy, jazzy, and rockish girl.

    Thanks, cwm. Oh well, I think tomorrow is the taping of the Do Something Awards in Los Angeles. Quite a busy weekend for Adam.

    eta…I have never had a dream with Adam in it. After looking at his face everyday for 2 years, you’d think something would stick in my brain.

    I work in a hospital and the other day there was this med student who walked around the corner and he looked exactly like Adam!….well, the Adam in 2000 Mt Carmel graduation video. But still I couldn’t stop staring at him. He caught me once.haha. I’d love to take him, clean, shape and glam him up and pair him with the guy I see at Dunkin Donuts every morning who looks like Tommy. Do the same with him, be their manager and start a look-alike-company. Looking for Monte and Isaac now. Smile

    ITA, luval. I will never forget the torn and shabby box that she carried along the M&G line, demanding that all gifts be placed in it – and actually saying “We don’t like gifts.” WTF? How hard would it have been to allow Adam to graciously accept gifts and then put them into a nice box with a smile and then (if necessary) throw it out when we aren’t looking? These are peeps who paid $175 for the privilege of spending literally 30 (or even 20) seconds with Adam, and she and Neil did everything they could think of to ruin the experience.
    Fortunately, it is impossible to ruin time with Adam. But would it have killed them to make the 30 seconds seem nice and not hurried? I tell myself that Lane and Neil are very young and they will grow up. I don’t think that there was any malice intended. They were tired and missed their naps… Rolls Eyes

    I can’t believe she would actually say “we don’t like gifts”. The gifts are for Adam and it’s her job to be gracious and classy with his fans. I will give her the benefit of the doubt that a lot of gifts can be inconvenient not only to keep up with and then send them home, but also because of security reasons when unwrapping gifts and opening letters.

    Thanks, Kradamour…I will never forget her rudeness. As you said they could have been given to Adam, where he would put in a box next to him telling the person he would open them later. Most were unwrapped. We would never have to know whether he looked at them ( like you said, bridgette12…security reasons). But Lane, shouted out the “we don’t like gifts”. I was up on the stairs waiting to meet him…$175.00….and heard her. A kindly, perky “thank you” even in the rotted brown cardboard box would have been sufficient.

    I’ve always thought my excitement over Adam rivaled my excitement over the Beatles so many years ago. I just finished reading a book, Fifty Years of the Beatles, and it reminded me that much of the fascination about the Beatles also revolved around the hair.

    They definitely had a different look compared to the slicked back “little dab will doya” haircuts popular at the time. And when they let their hair grow long, so did the rest of the country.

    It’s funny that Adam’s hair gets so much attention, whether he shaves it, wears it high or emo. Hope he’s just as popular fifty years from now too!

    I knew exactly what you meant and had a good chuckle over it. Who could forget that interview? Hope he gets to go back on Leno for his new album. Jay was so impressed with Sleepwalker (my favorite) I’m surprised it was never released as a single.
