Well guys it’s time for our August Chat thread. Here is one of my favorite pictures from St. Agathe. Another month with a major event. VH-1 is kickstarting the revamp of their fantastic series Behind The Music featuring Adam. Will everybody be watching on Sunday night???

    Hi Calgary,

    Of everything I’ve read about the VMA’s Adam did not attend. In fact as far as anyone can tell, not one Idol alumni was in attendance.

    So Adam tweeted he thought Lil Wayne’s hair last night on the VMA’s was f**king cool. Did you see the hair? LONG LONG down his back! I like that, Adam.

    Adam tweeted that he wasn’t at the award show. I found some great protest signs and somehow I’ve taken something off my computer that’s not allowing me to bring it over.     Hi everyone. RL has been calling. My daughters wedding was last weekend(20th) and we had family here until today. My son moved to DC the day before the earthquake, daughter and granddaughter went back there the day before the hurricane. Been trying to keep up with posts but no time for replying.

    But I just had to say this is the kind of dog Adam should have. sorry for the long link.

    Looks like the fan club is going through some “glitches” since Adam left 19. Just got an e-mail with some q & a’s. Let’s just say hope all of you got your Charity water autographed picture because it’s probably going to be a while longer.

    Has anyone heard from adamized, kradamour or dcglam since the storm? I haven’t followed the news since the storm, so I just know that there were lots of power outages and flooding. I tried to text adamized and kradamour late this afternoon just in case they could respond. I don’t try to call people when emergencies are going on–just because I know they are busy–but could respond to a text on their own time. If anyone hears from them, please post so we will know.

    Ceddies, I’ve emailed with Kradamour a few times. They were still without power this afternoon, and expected to be without it for a bit longer.
    We have not heard from adamized or dcglam.

    I’m southeast of D.C. – Andrews AFB area – out of power here for 30 hours and landline phone out – only cell worked. Part of Virginia and Southern Maryland (St. Mary’s County and Calvert County very badly hit). Still no power in Solomons (tip of Calvert) as of tonight. Hundreds of trees and wires down. Really got the brunt of Irene.

    ultimathule, I hope you came through the storm without too much damage.

    Kradamour’s house is one of just a few in her area still without power. What a lucky girl! Wink Things are open near her and she seemed to be doing ok!

    ultimathule, thanks for that information. I’m sorry your area got hit hard. Hope you all are gonna be okay. I live in a coastal state (Mississippi); but I am almost four hours from the coast. We lost 5 trees in our back yard from Katrina in 2005–even four hours from the coast because it tracked right thru here once it got inland.

    My text messages to the ladies may show up next week or the week after. I will probably try to email them tomorrow. Thanks for the info nkd.

    I’m here, Ceddies! Thanks so much for checking up on us. Other than losing internet for a while Saturday night and our yard being a total mess, we are okay over here in Northern Virginia. However, my son lives in Boston and has been without power since 9:00 Sunday morning. Evidently, that area was hit pretty hard. He has been told that it may be days before the power is restored. Thank goodness he doesn’t need to warm his house this time of year.
    I hope the rest of you are doing okay now and are able to move forward. This has not been fun… Frown

    So, August 30, 2010 Glam Nation Covington, Ky. This was a show in which the crowd was described as “glamsardines”. Several people fainted from the heat. Rumors of a new drummer (Isaac) were floating around.

    8/30/10 – the Glam Nation Tour plays the Madison Theatre in Covington, KY. This show was one of the few on the U.S. portion of the tour that was not sold out, with about 95% of available tickets sold.

    The September 2011 monthly chat thread will be posted Wednesday evening. Hopefully that will be the last relatively quiet month in the world of Adam, prior to a new single sometime in October!

    Housekeeping item – I updated the WordPress and Platform (that’s the theme we use) files to the latest version today, since then I’m getting “out of memory” or “stack overflow” errors when trying to edit a comment. Clicking ok in response seems to allow you to go ahead and edit the comment successfully. I’m pretty sure this is related to some manual changes I have to make after every WordPress update to enable the page navigation of comments, but I haven’t figured out how to fix it yet. If you encounter other problems with the site, please let me know.

    Happy belated birthday, adamized, kradamour and ellessay! Sorry, have been off for a few days with pesky RL. But, nothing near as bad as you guys up the coast. Very sad, so much damage and flooding and lives lost. Seems like more and more storms are heading from the Carolina’s upwards lately.

    I’m BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAck! Hooray! Power came back on at suppertime! Ceiling that caved in is cleaned up, basement is dried out, and life is good – could have been so much worse!
    Thank you so much for the many words of encouragement, messages, and emails – it meant a lot. I had limited access to my email with my phone, but had to charge it in the car Rolls Eyes
    So glad that the blog was quiet while I was away – not too much to catch up with.
    asif, I loved Midnight in Paris. I plan to see it again, it is playing down the street from my house. I missed the restaurant, loved your personal connection to it, now I def have to see it again! and I love Woody Allen.
    Re the fansite – I will renew for the reasons others gave – it isn’t much money, it supports Adam (and I think that larger numbers reflect well on him with his management), and gives us a chance for individual communications.
    Gah re charity water photos. I’m not holding my breath, but would love to have one. I actually saw and touched Luval‘s so I know that they exist…
    Happy birthday to my virgo sisters adamized and ellesay! (our other virgo sister is Nekkid, but her birthday is in a bit.) But I hereby declare that my hurricaned birthday DOES NOT COUNT and so I will be forever one year younger than my birth certificate would indicate, so I am now the baby of this group at 28 LOL!

    Raleigh, Richmond, Covington concerts…each has a specific meaning for me and I was offline for their anniversaries! Frown
    Richmond: the concert where I had face value tickets, but sold them because it was GA and it was a billion degrees and it was my birthday and I didn’t want to spend it on the sidewalk in Richmond and no one would go with me. Frown
    Raleigh: the concert I attended in lieu of Richmond, and I MET CHER and stayed with her family and had a wonderful time! and she saved the concert for me. I had bought $$$$ ticket on stubhub, supposedly third row. But WTF it was on the very aisle totally blocked by the amplifier! could not see a thing! AND they had put about 5 rows of chairs in front of the regular seats! FML! But cher had an empty seat next to her, dead center of the same row and she came and got me. (mwah!). I passed out paper fans to peeps to fan themselves for fever. Smile
    And Covington…I have a relative who could have gotten me killer seats for that concert but I cluelessly did not realize that until too late! and didn’t go. Frown
    So then I went looking for more concerts, to my family’s consternation and bewilderment… LOL

    Welcome back, Kradamour and all others who have been dealing with Irene related RL issues!! I feel like I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole and emerged with a new appreciation for electricity and calm weather Smile
    Thankfully, we didn’t have much actual damage from Irene, but the loss of power for many hours wasn’t fun. I look at pictures of Vt. and count my blessings!!! Most of our neighbors who have basements have unwanted indoor wading pools, so I’m grateful we don’t have a basement. All in all, a weekend I’m glad is behind me.

    On another front, thanks Ewflyer for all the work you put into this site. It is much appreciated.

    It is very quiet here, but I decided on the one-month anniversary of our NoH8 foto shoot to write a little post-cap of that event on the Ste. Agathe thread. Go take a peek, and be warned, NOT a literary masterpiece lol but I think it’s pretty accurate.
    Btw, I also renewed my fansite membership for all the same reasons everyone gave. Must support our BB, he gives himself to us in every concert!

    I think people are mostly lurking right now (myself included). Taking care of real life issues and waiting for the Adam storm that will be coming. I’ll be at work sneaking a peek here or walking by my computer at home, refreshing to see if there’s any news. I believe there was a concert on 8/31/10 so when I get home I’ll check my notebook and post my “one-liners” about that show.

    One year ago 8/31/10 was Indianapolis…where Glam Nation live was filmed. Adam sure had quite a few false eyelashes on! But they fell off as the show went on. And of course the hair…hmmm. Right mils? That half shaved head. Yikes.

    Glad you are back and everything is A-okay, Kradamour. My Boston son is still without power — 4 days so far. My heart is aching, and I want to help so badly, but there really is nothing that I can do. Right now he is loving going to work — the only place where he has power! LOL

    Although I do miss that awesome truck of yours, jlurksacto, I do love your new avi — very handsome!
